Estimation of downstream Scour of Labyrinth Weir (래버린스 위어 하류단 세굴 규모 산정)

  • 하천에서 위어 하류단의 세굴은 매우 중요한 현상이며 위어 형상에 따른 수리학적 흐름특성이 세굴거리 및 세굴심에도 영향을 미치므로, 적절한 하상보호공 설계를 위해 다양한 위어 하류단의 세굴 규모 및 세굴 형상을 산정하는 연구가 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 사다리꼴 래버린스 위어를 적용하여 일반적인 직선형 위어와 비교하였으며, 3차원 수치모의를 통해 하류단의 세굴 규모를 분석하였다. 현재 세굴 방지를 위하여 설치되는 위어 하류부 물받이 및 하상보호공의 설계 기준은 월류흐름에 의해 발생되는 하류부 세굴영향에 대한 고려가 미흡하며, 대부분 설계자료가 광정위어 및 예연 위어 형태만을 고려하고 있어 위어의 형상변화에 따른 고려 또한 부족한 실정이다. 따라서 하류부 세굴방지공의 안전하고 경제적인 설계를 위하여 위어의 형상 변화에 따른 위어 하류부 세굴 특성 분석에 대한 연구가 필요하다. 본 연구에서 적용한 래버린스(labyrinth) 위어는 수로 내에 설치된 횡방향 직선형 위어의 단면 형상을 변경하여 월류길이를 증가시킨 긴 마루(long crested) 위어 형태의 일종이다. 일반적으로 래버린스 위어는 월류량 증대, 수질개선 및 수심유지 효과가 필요한 수공구조물에 이용되어 하천에 적용될 경우, 관련 수공구조물의 수심 확보 측면에서 기여할 수 있는 구조물로 잘 알려져 있다. 수로폭과 유입유량을 알고 있을 경우 기존 연구자들에 의해 제시한 공식에 의해 직선형 위어의 하류단의 세굴거리와 세굴심을 산정할 수 있으며, 본 연구에서 제시한 세굴거리 비와 세굴심 비를 통해 래버린스 위어의 세굴거리 및 세굴심을 예측할 수 있었다. 분석결과 래버린스 위어의 하류단의 세굴거리는 직선형 위어에 비해 감소하고 세굴심은 증가하였으며, 총 마루길이 당 유입유량과 유입유량 조건에 따른 세굴거리 비 및 세굴심 비 변화를 통해 통수능 및 래버린스 위어의 마루길이 변화에 따른 세굴 영향범위를 조절할 수 있는 것으로 분석되었다. 추후 다양한 유량조건과 확폭비를 고려한 연구를 수행한다면 래버린스 위어의 마루길이에 따라 하상보호공 설계시 중요한 인자인 세굴거리와 세굴심을 조절할 수 있으며, 위어 형상에 따른 하류단 세굴 규모를 산정과 더불어 확장된 하상보호공 설계자료로 이용할 수 있을 것이다.

  • The CWR(Continuous Welded Rail) on a bridge shows complex structural behavior compared to those on the roadbed. The influence factors on the track-bridge interaction are the variation of temperature and vehicle load. The analysis methods for track-bridge interaction, material property, modeling method, loads and combination method are indicated in the domestic railway design principle, KR C-08080. The vehicle load in KR C-08080 was changed in 2014. In this study, to evaluate the effect of the changed vehicle load on the track-bridge interaction, the track-bridge interaction analyses were performed for 22 bridges by using finite element method.

  • This research aims to develop core technologies for passive carrier (no power in carrier itself) transfer system. The technologies are passive levitation, propulsion, and guidance, which can be great benefits for semiconductor and display manufacturing industries. Passive maglev carrier is necessary to precise position control for quiet and stable transfer operation. However, the structural characteristics of carrier and the installation errors of gap sensors cause the pitch motion. Hence, the controller design in consideration of pitch motion is required. This study deals with the reduction control of carrier pitch motion. PDA controller and PDA controller with pitch control are proposed to compare the pitch angle analysis. The pitch angle and the levitation precision are measured by experiment. Finally, the optimized design of pitch controller is presented and the effects are discussed.

Comparative Study on Calculation Method for Design Flood Discharge of Dam (댐 설계홍수량 산정방법에 관한 비교연구)

  • In this study, past method and recent method for flood discharge with domestic multi-purpose dams in Korea were compared and analyzed with respect to the scale of watershed. Rainfall depth, temporal pattern, rainfall excess, rainfall-runoff model, parameter estimation and base flow were selected as the principal factors affecting flood discharge and effects on flood discharge were analyzed quantitatively by using sensitivity analysis. The results showed that the flood discharges calculated by past and recent method increased and decreased with a wide range of discharge with respect to the scale of watershed. The reason for decrease of flood discharge is the exchange of temporal pattern of rainfall and the principal reasons for increase of flood discharge are the increase of rainfall depth by unusual weather phenomena and the difference of estimation method for parameters of unit hydrograph.

Evaluation of low-vibration electronic detonator blasting method to improve constructability in non-vibration excavation section (무진동 굴착구간에서의 시공성 향상을 위한 미진동 전자발파공법 평가)

  • Although this site is designed with a non-vibration excavation method for a section of 265 m, there are concerns about decline of constructability and economic feasibility. For this reason, the low-vibration electronic detonator blasting method was suggested. To evaluate the applicability of the low-vibration electronic detonator blasting method, the damage range of blasting vibration of low-vibration electronic detonator blasting applied just before the site (suggestion I) and low-vibration electronic detonator blasting constructed close range the subway like this site (suggestion II) was analyzed. As a result of comparing the blasting vibration damage ranges of the two suggestions, the damage range of suggestion II was calculated more conservatively. Considering the specificity of the close range of this site, suggestion II was selected for design change for safer construction. As a result, it is predicted that there will be no damage to the structure even if the 72 m section out of the non-vibration excavation 265 m section is changed to the Low-vibration electronic detonator blasting. And it is evaluated that high economic benefits can be obtained because the total expected excavation period can be reduced by 144 days from 662.5 days.

Rotor Stability and Whirl Flutter Analysis of Smart UAV (스마트무인기 로터 안정성 및 훨플러터 해석)

  • This paper describes the modeling data and final analysis results of rotor resonance, rotor aeroelastic stability and whirl flutter stability for Smart UAV (SUAV). The effects of wing beamwise, chordwise and torsional stiffness on the whirl flutter stability were investigated considering the possibility of design change of SUAV wing structure. The parametric study showed that wing torsional and beamwise stiffness changes have much stronger influence on the wing mode damping than chordwise stiffness. It was analytically demonstrated that the final designed rotor system is aeroelastically stable and free from resonance, and that rotor/pylon/wing system of SUAV TR-S4 has enough rotor stability and whirl flutter stability margin.

  • As Remodeling is proceed in the limited condition that is utilization of existing resource, the selection of remodeling objects and scope are affected by the correlation of building systems. Unexpected problems have occurred in construction phase by lack of the consideration about correlation of building systems; increasing of cost, delaying of schedule etc. Therefore, this research suggests the Building System Correlation Diagram Model and the direction of cost estimation .for selecting alternative reasonably in remodeling design process.

  • Most UIMS(User Interface Management System) adopt dialogue model of user interface Implementation of UIMS influenced by adopted dialogue model of user interface strongly. While the Model-View-Controller framework has contributed to many aspects of user interface development in Smalltalk environment- user interfaces generated with MVC have highly coupled model, view, and controller classes. Such coupling impedes the reuse of software component. So In this paper, we suggest MVCD model to resolve a decline of reuse with MVC have highly coupled. User messages are not changed by Controller immediately, but sent to Dialogue object which maintains the syntatic structure of the interaction. Dialogue object invokes Model object to updates is value. Since Model objects have active values, the value change propagates to the linked Controllers. Finally, Controller object convert the new value and update the View object. User interface builder is implemented on X-window with OSF/Motif that is base on this user dialogue model.

  • A container crane model was tested to investigate wind-load characteristics in uniform flows and ground boundary layers. Drag coefficients and moment coefficients show their minimum values at 0, 90, 180 degrees wind directions and maximum values at 60 and 120 degrees. Strong interactions among structure elements produce such variations of the wind-load with wind directions. The BS-2573 code is shown to over-estimation can be reflected in the design stage of cranes by refining the rule of the designer. Some roundings of coners of the engine room and the machinery room reduce the wind-load by 10 percents. Considerable reductions of the wind-load would be expected if further integrated development of the crane structure are executed.

  • The paper provides an approximate cost estimating model that can be used for tunnel. Based on the previous study analyzed critical factors that have impact on tunnel construction cost, this paper establishes a cost variance index table that reflects the cost impacts due to the change of the critical cost factors. An estimating procedure is described utilizing the index table. For the verification of the suggested model, the comparison of the estimated construction cost with real project cost is performed. The estimated results range from 95%~111% of the real project costs. As an approximate tunnel cost estimating model, the model can be utilized to quickly estimate tunnel construction costs based on the conceptual information at the planning stage and to efficiently make a decision on design alternatives.
