This paper deals with modelling and identification of a shipboard stabilized satellite antenna system using the optimal neural network structure. It is difficult for shipboard satellite antenna system to control and identification because of their approximating ability of nonlinear function So it is important to design the neural network with optimal structure for minimum error and fast response time. In this paper, a neural network structure using genetic algorithm is optimized And genetic algorithm is also used for identifying a shipboard satellite antenna system It is noticed that the optimal neural network structure actually describes the real movement of ship well. Through practical test, the optimal neural network structure is shown to be effective for modelling the shipboard satellite antenna system.

Analytical solutions for two-dimensional velocities of regular waves generated by bottom wave makers in a flume were derived in this study. Triangular and rectangular bottom wave makers were adopted. The velocity potential was derived based on the linear wave theory with the bottom moving boundary condition, kinematic and dynamic free surface boundary conditions. Then, analytical solutions of two-dimensional particle velocities were derived from the velocity potential. The velocity potential and two-dimensional particle velocities which were derived as complex integral equations were numerically calculated. The solutions showed physically valid results as velocities of regular waves generated by bottom wave makers in a flume.
A motion capture system is widely used in movies, computer game, and computer animation industries because it allows for creating realistic human motions efficiently. The inertial motion capture system has several advantages over more popular vision-based systems in terms of the required space and cost. However, it suffers from low accuracy due to the relatively high noise levels of the inertial sensors. In particular, the accelerometer used for measuring gravity direction loses the accuracy when the sensor is moving with non-zero linear acceleration. In this paper, we propose a method to remove the linear acceleration component from the accelerometer data in order to improve the accuracy of measuring gravity direction. In addition, we develop a simple method to calibrate the joint axis of a link to which an inertial sensor belongs as well as the position of a sensor with respect to the link. The calibration enables attaching inertial sensors in an arbitrary position and orientation with respect to a link.
Several types of electrical artifact seen on electroencephalogram( EEG) records are described. Those are the EOG and the PVC roller pump noise, and so on. An adaptive digital filtering of the electroencephalogram( EEG) is a successful way of suppressing mains interference, but it affects some of the frequency components of the signal, whore artifacts may not be acceptable in some cafes of automatic EEG processing. Thus we studied the method for cancelling these artifacts. This proposed method does not use the reference channel, and is realized by connecting the linear predictor and the fixed FIR filter for the EOG artifact, and by cascading the linear predictor and the noise canceller for the pump artifact. The simulation results illustrate the performances of the proposed method in terms of the capability of interferences suppression. In the results we obtained about 20 dB noise reduction.

The influence of vertical eddy viscosity to the nonlinear interaction of tidal current and wind-induced current is examined using a point model. A zero-equation turbulence model is derived by simplifying the q$^2$-q$^2$1 turbulence model under the assumption that the generation of turbulence kinetic energy is balanced with its dissipation and is further modified to include the depth of frictional influence properly The zero-equation turbulence model is derived and the possibility of resonance in the presence of Coriolis effect is suggested. The amplitudes of tidal currents remain the same regardless of the applied wind stress, but the over-tide component is generated due to the nonlinear interaction of tidal current and wind-induced current. Significant changes in the vertical profile of wind-induced currents can occur according to tide-induced background turbulence. The turbulence model can give rise to misleading results when applied to the wind-driven circulation in the tide-dominated sea such as Yellow Sea unless the tide-induced background turbulence is adequately included in the parameterization of vertical eddy viscosity.

A three dimensional (3D) method of analysis is presented for determining the free vibration frequencies and mode shapes of thick, circular and annular plates with nonlinear thickness variation along the radial direction. Unlike conventional plate theories, which are mathematically two dimensional (2D), the present method is based upon the 3D dynamic equations of elasticity. Displacement components u/sub s/, u/sub z/, and u/sub θ/ in the radial, thickness, and circumferential directions, respectively, are taken to be sinusoidal in time, periodic in θ, and algebraic polynomials in the s and z directions. Potential (strain) and kinetic energies of the plates are formulated, and the Ritz method is used to solve the eigenvalue problem thus yielding upper bound values of the frequencies by minimizing the frequencies. As the degree of the polynomials is increased, frequencies converge to the exact values. Convergence to four digit exactitude is demonstrated for the first five frequencies of the plates. Numerical results we presented for completely free, annular and circular plates with uniform linear, and quadratic variations in thickness. Comparisons are also made between results obtained from the present 3D and previously published thin plate (2D) data.

In this study, series of nonlinear seismic analysis were performed on a reinforced concrete intake tower surrounded by water. To consider the fluid effect around the structure, analysis models were composed using an added mass and CEL approach. At this time, the implicit method was used for the added mass model, and the explicit method was used for the fluid structure interaction model. The input motions were scaled to correspond to 500, 1000, and 2400 years return period of the same artificial earthquake. To estimate the counteractivity of the fluid coupled model, models without fluid effect were constructed and used as a reference. The material models of concrete and reinforcement were selected to consider the nonlinear behavior after yielding, and analysis were performed by ABAQUS. As results, in the acceleration response spectrum of the structure, it was found that the influence of the surrounding fluid reducing the peak frequency and magnitude corresponding to the fundamental frequency of the structure. However, the added mass model did not affect the peak value corresponding to the higher mode. The sectional moments were increased significantly in the case of the added mass model than those of the reference model. Especially, this amplification occurred largely for a small-sized earthquake response in which linear behavior is dominant. In the fluid structure interaction model, the sectional moment with a low frequency component amplifies compared to that of the reference model, but the sectional moment with a high requency component was not amplified. Based in these results, it was evaluated that the counteractivity of the additive mass model was greater than that of the fluid structure interaction model.

In this study, we conducted the adsorption equilibrium and batch experiments of dissolved organic carbon (DOC) in the wastewater by granular activated carbon (GAC). The components of organic compound were Beef extract (1.8 mg/L), Peptone (2.7 mg/L), Humic acid (4.2 mg/L), Tannic acid (4.2 mg/L), Sodium lignin sulfonate (2.4 mg/L), Sodium lauryle sulfate (0.94 mg/L), Arabic gum powder (4.7 mg/L), Arabic acid (polysaccharide) (5.0 mg/L), $(NH_4)_2SO_4$ (7.1 mg/L), $K_2HPO_4$ (7.0 mg/L), $NH_4HCO_3$ (19.8 mg/L), $MgSO_4{\cdot}7H_2O$ (0.71 mg/L), The adsorption characteristics of DOC in synthetic wastewater was described using the mathematical model through a series of isotherm and batch experiments. It showed that there was linear adsorption region in the low DOC concentration (0~2.5 mg/L) and favorable adsorption region in high concentration (2.5~6 mg/L). The synthetic wastewater used was prepared using known quantities of organic and/or inorganic compounds. Adsorption modelling isotherms were predicted by the Freundlich, Langmuir, Sips and hybrid isotherm equations. Especially, hybrid isotherm of Linear and Sips equation was a good adsorption equilibrium in the region of the both the low concentration and high concentration. In applying carbon adsorption for treating water and wastewater, hybrid adsorption equation plus linear equation with Sips equation will be a good new adsorption equilibrium model. Linear driving force approximation (LDFA) kinetic equation with Hybrid (linear+Sips) adsorption isotherm model was successfully applied to predict the adsorption kinetics data in various GAC adsorbent amounts.

A three-dimensional method of analysis is presented for determining the free vibration frequencies and mode shapes of hollow bodies of revolution (i.e., thick shells), not limited to straight line generators or constant thickness. The middle surface of the shell may have arbitrary curvatures, and the wall thickness may vary arbitrarily. Displacement components$U_\Phi, U_z, U_\theta$ in the meridional, normal and circumferential directions, respectively, are taken to be sinusoidal in time, periodic in$\theta$, and algebraic polynomials in the$\Phi$and z directions. Potential(strain) and kinetic energies of the entire body are formulated, and upper bound values of the frequencies are obtained by minimizing the frequencies. As the degrees of the polynomials are increased, frequencies converge to the exact values. Novel numerical results are presented for two types of thick conical shells and thick spherical shell segments having linear thickness variations. Convergence to four digit exactitude is demonstrated for the first five frequencies of both types of shells. The method is applicable to thin shells, as well as thick and very thick ones.

MODFLOW(A Modular Three-Dimensional Finite-Difference Ground Water Flow Model)는 1980년대 USGS(United State Geolog ical Survey)에서 개발된 가장 범용적으로 사용되는 지하수유동모형이며, 모듈화 된 구조를 갖고 있어 다양한 패키지 중 필요로 하는 기능을 독립적으로 모의할 수 있는 장점이 있다.
