A Study on the Postmodern Identity in Madonna Costume -Focusing on the intertextuality- (마돈나 의상에 나타난 포스트모던 정체성없음)

  • 본고는 공간, 시간, 계급, 종교 등 하위문화 텍스트의 병행인용 즉 상호텍스트성(intertextuality)을 통해, 20세기 대중 문화의 상징 마돈나 뮤직 비디오와 공연 등의 인체, 의상, 이미지 등에 나타난 포스트모던 정체성을 연구함으로써, 현대 미디어 문화를 관통하는 주체적 여성 정체성과 미적 주관성을 이해하고자한다. 첫째, 상호공간텍스트성 복식은 스패니쉬룩. 태국룩. 게이샤룩, 테크노펑크룩, 테크노 카우걸룩 등의 동서양의 지리적 소외감을 통해 비권위적 다양한 시선을 제시함으로써, 다국적 자본주의와 함께 확장된 미적 체험을 하게 한다.; 둘째, 상호시간텍스트성 복식은 중세 엠파이어 드레스, 18세기 로코코시대의 robe'a la francaise, 미래적 제 3의 종 룩 등 동시적 몽환적 이미지를 통해 유희적 유토피아를 지향하였다.; 셋째, 상호계급텍스트성 복식은 그라피티룩, 펑크룩, 키치룩, 먼로 룩, 보깅(voguing), 에비타 룩 등 상하류층, 하위문화, 빈부, 권력의 유무를 병행인용하여, 좋은/나쁜 취향, 창녀/성녀 이분법을 해체하고 반부르조아적 저항과 물질주의를 찬양하는 탈계급적, 양면적 정체성을 구축하였다. ; 넷째, 상호종교텍스트성 복식은 상징적 가부장인 카톨릭교 텍스트를 인용하여 펑키크리스찬 룩, 에로틱 크리스찬 룩 등의 선/악, 신성성/관능성, 미추, 정숙성/비정숙성의 이분법, 비장미를 해체함으로써 예술의 자율성, 무의식이 강조된 쾌락주의적, 반권위주의적 정체성을 주장한다. 섹슈얼리티에 있어, 시선, 권력, 쾌락의 주체가 됨으로써, 미적 범주에 있어 선악, 미추, 정숙성과 비정숙성의 이분법을 해체함으로써, 유동적 자아를 구성한 마돈나 의상의 포스트모던 정체성은 여성에게 확대된 가능성을 제공하며 내부로부터 해체된 열린 복식을 지향한다.

  • This thesis is a study on Zhuang-zi's theory of self-cultivation. "Mind" is an important concept in Zhuang-zi's philosophy. According to Zhuang-zi "mind" has dual character and its basic state includes the mind which is in keeping with Tao and the mind which is not. They separately refer to mind's natural state(靈府靈臺 之心) and unnatural state(成心). The former is compatible and harmonious while the latter is contradictory. The accomplishment of mind eventually means transcending unnatural mind and attaining mind's natural state. To realize natural mind, Zhuang-zi propose xinzhai(心齋)and zuowang(坐忘).

A Case Study of Cross-Media Storytelling : Remediation of Webtoon to Drama Series (크로스미디어 스토리텔링 사례 연구 -웹툰 <미생>의 드라마 <미생>으로의 재매개-)

  • With the growth of media platforms and fierce competition in the media market, there have been focus on cross media storytelling, a remediation of content already proven successful to another type of medium. In particular, webtoons have emerged as being successful source media, and this study analyzes how the webtoon 's narrative is expanded and transformed in the remediation process into TV drama. The results showed that, the webtoon , which was targeted at a relatively more specific audience, objectively described stories of the life and hardships of an office worker through a contractual employee at a trading company navigating work life based on strategies of Baduk; while the TV drama version, which aims to appeal to a broader audience, strengthened popular narratives with topics of social issues such as 'hardships of the non-permanent employee', 'sexual discrimination and sexual harassment in the workplace', 'difficulties of a working mom', and 'romance between new colleagues'. In addition, in order to create dramatic enjoyment, the drama's storytelling strategy incorporated conflicts by creating confrontational relationships among good and evil characters, and added humanism and comedic effect.

Attributes of sound and emotional type in the Eastern philosophy - Focused on Chinese Akron(樂論) and Chosun Chongiron(天機論) (동양 철학에서의 소리의 속성과 감성 유형 - 중국의 악론과 조선의 천기론을 중심으로)

  • This paper is designed to investigate the attributes of sound and emotion resided in traditional Eastern thought by looking into acoustic theories such as Sunguarakron (聲有哀樂論) in Akgi(樂記), Sungmuaerakron(聲無哀樂論) of Haegang and Akhakgebum(樂學軌範), Chongiron(天機論) in Choson(朝鮮) dynasty. Six types of emotions, namely sadness, pleasure, happiness, anger, respect, and, affection (哀心, 樂心, 喜心, 怒心, 敬心, 愛心) which is related with sounds was closely reviewed through Akgi(樂記). Also attributes of sounds such as loudness, sharpness, pitch, roughness, fluctuation strength and pleasantness was corresponded with plain & complicated(單複), pitch, good & bad(善惡) slow & fast(舒疾), loud & quiet(猛靜) respectively. In addition to this, this paper is narrowed down that the basic ideas about sound and emotions of Choson(朝鮮) confucian scholar was based on theory of music and rhythm on Akgi(樂記). Furthermore, the relationship between expressed sound and emotions which was revealed in Chongiron(天機論) has been examined. Finally, various applied research and studies will be promoted through this study, because this study will provide foundation which supports sounds and emotions of Eastern.

  • The commercial value of the Korean animation was developed by the government's policies of revitalizing reform and national harmony from 1960 to the middle of 1980. Especially, the character of the anti communistic animation was organized by the structure of confrontation between South (good) and North (evil). The confrontation was viewed by communism and liberal democracy by red and white (or blue) and a pig or a boy. Such ideology and the policy of Korean culture gave some impact on its culture, for example, movie and animation. The animation became the tool of educating the idea of anti-communism and the policy of Korean culture by firming the policy of anti communism. But that animation of anti communism must not be blamed because it is a general animation of Korea which describes the reality. We have to take a hard view of the time and reconsider it by the new point of view.

Ethical Event of Responsibility in Nietzsche's Philosophy (니체철학에서 책임의 문제)

  • The notion of responsibility, which has now gained a firm foothold as one of the fundamental notions of philosophy and its neighboring disciplines, became the subject of philosophical enquiry only in the 19th century by Kierkegaard, who delved into the morality of critical self-awareness in ethical responsibility of the absolute self; and Nietzsche, who put emphasis on the responsibility of the sovereign self in coping with the problems of the future. Nietzsche is the first philosopher who took issue with the diminishment (Verkleinerung) of humanity-what he called human being's greatest disease-that swept Europe at that time. Concerns about Europe's future were the key movens of Nietzsche's philosophy revolving around the advent of nihilism in Europe and its solutions. He prepared alternative solutions in deep awareness that the ethics of good and evil firmly rooted in the traditional metaphysics and Christianity would not even catch the depth and breadth of the big problem of globalization brought about by modernism, let alone solve it. Nietzsche devoted his whole life to disseminating the knowledge that the future of humankind depends on removing these old ethics. This article traces Nietzsche's reflections on the ethical event of responsibility and provides an overview of the purview and scope contained in the meaning covered by the notion of responsibility in his philosophy beyond common norms and values.

Screen Performance of the Korean Actor Choi Min-sik (영화배우 최민식의 스크린 퍼포먼스)

  • This article attempted to apply the methodology of film acting as a performance oriented towards socio-cultural meaning to Min-sik Choi's acting. Specifically, the relationship between the body, the face, the audio, the direction and the attitude toward film technology mentioned in the interview dictation of actor Choi Min-sik was analyzed. In conclusion, Min-sik Choi's acting cannot be defined only by method acting, but implies or integrates the typical or avant-garde acting theories such as Stanislavsky, Strasberg, Mayerhold, Brecht and Grotovski. Above all, it is the presentation that expresses the flow of life through movement suggested by S. Kracauer. The feeling of compassion that Choi Min-sik himself emphasizes is in contact with the essence of the film that reproduces the flow of life, and it expands to an intended screen performance with a certain purpose. The screen performance that can be compressed with compassion and the flow of life is expressed by Min-sik Choi's various personas. His persona, transcending good and evil, reflects the present of Korean society.

A Study of Jeong Yak-yong's Minor Annotation of Elementary Learning and Private Examination of Classic of the Mind (정약용(丁若鏞)의 『소학지언(小學枝言)』 · 『심경밀험(心經密驗)』에 관한 연구(硏究) - 윤리적(倫理的) 실천론(實踐論)을 중심(中心)으로-)

  • This research studied Minor Annotation of Elementary Learning("小學枝言") and Private Examination of Classic of the Mind("心經密驗") from the ethical perspective. Minor Annotation of Elementary Learning and Private Examination of Classic of the Mind are writings that play a role of bridge between Chinese classics(經學) and Theory of Statecraft(經世論). These two essays were written for the purpose of putting virtue into practice, which had been attained by studying Chinese classics, through a vehicle called Theory of Statecraft. If Minor Annotation of Elementary Learning called as a book of cultivation of outward morality or outward behavior, then Private Examination of Classic of the Mind is the book for cultivation of inward temperament. The 'practice' emphasized by Dasan through these two essays denotes ceaseless efforts toward goodness or virtue. Such efforts can be interpreted as 'ethical practice', if looked at from the perspective of aggressive struggle toward virtue. Dasan, in these two essays, had stressed to practice Good(善) through positive and lively actions. The matter of Good and Bad(善惡) in humans is not associated with their mind, but related to their practice. That is to say, humans may turn out to be good through means of 'ethical practice'. For Dasan, 'ethical practice' toward Good should have to be continued and upheld not only in the course of self-cultivation, but also in 'establishing relationship' with others. Such an assertion of Dasan was to lay emphasis on accomplishment of 'ethical practice' toward Good amid close relationship between personal and social ethics. Also, Dasan had emphasized free will(自由意志) in humans. This means that Good and Bad will be determined according to humans' free will, and to the same extent, that humans are responsible for its consequence. It is noted that Dasan had stressed that any human having free will should have to be a 'man of virtue'(君子) through means of 'ethical practice'.

A Comparative Study of Storytelling between and (<더 월>과 <노란 잠수함>의 스토리텔링 비교연구)

  • The music videos of and were made based on the music of Pink Floyd and Beatles. This study aims to compare the characteristics of the two songs in terms of music and storytelling method. Previous studies investigated the narrative structure and concept of the storytelling, which are the basis of the images. This study, a comparative study of the two songs, firstly analyzed the narrative structure focusing on the roles and relationships among characters in each song. Secondly, it investigated the method of composition structure and the characteristics of the two pieces of music of which genre is different from each other. Thirdly, it classified the images into intro part, development part, and conclusion part and analyzed by comparison how the song or images inserted in the music interacts with each other. As a result, it was found that described strong progressive rock from the subjective viewpoint through the material storytelling structure by space and it represents the alienation of the hero through simile and metaphor, spatial changes crossing the past and the present, and the actual and non-actual crossover directing. On the other hand, developed a narrative storytelling structure in which progressive fantasy images developed from the psychedelic viewpoint through the confrontation of the good and the bad to deliver the messages of love and peace.

A Validity Study on Brand Identity-based Strategy Model for Culture Content's One Source Multi Use : A Case Study on (브랜드 아이덴티티 기반 OSMU 전략 모델의 타당성 연구 : <해리포터 (Harry Potter)>를 중심으로)

  • According to many researches on brand management, the decision makings on brand marketing should center on the brand identity. Based on the brand management theory, Brand Identity-based OSMU Strategy has been suggested, in which the decision makings for culture content's OSMU should be focused on the brand identity of content to maximize the brand equity. In this study, the effectiveness of suggested brand identity-based OSMU strategy model is empirically studied, together with the effect on the brand equity. The study on the consumer's attitude toward the Harry Potter T-shirt with the associations of 'magic, courage and confrontation against evil' proved that consumers respond more favorably in terms of their recognition of the fit-to-content, preference and perceived quality. With this result, the positive effect of brand identity-based OSMU on consumer attitude is verified. On the other hand, the study on the effect of brand identity bearing T-shirt on brand equity did not support the hypothesis that the brand identity-based OSMU has the positive feedback effect on the brand equity of culture content. Still, while the brand equity is established through the long period of time with consumer's consistent experience on the certain culture content, the effect of brand identity-based OSMU on brand equity has a room for further discussion and research. While the ultimate goal of marketing is to create the power brand with high brand value, the further discussion on the effective culture content OSMU strategy to create a power brand is needed.
