Implementation Access Control System Based on CAN Communication (CAN통신 기반 출입통제 시스템 구현)

  • CAN communication developed for communication between electric control devices in vehicle, was recently applied to automatic braking devices, and can also be applied to field bus for production automation. Recently, field bus is introduced in engine control, etc. for large ship. In this paper, cabin access control system can be implemented, based on CAN communication. The cabin access control system based on CAN communication consists of access control server, embedded system based on ARM9, and micro-controller built-in CAN controller. The access control server can be able to manage overall access control system by accessing with manager. And embedded system adopted ARM9 processor transmits access information of RFID reader controller connected with CAN networks to server, also performs access control. The embedded system can carry CAN frames to server, so it can be used as gateway.

  • The cargo of ships and offshore structures is the number of oil of combustibility and volatile, oil processing cargo. Furthermore heavy cargo of the vehicle or container box or bulk cargo are occupied the remainder of cargo. In addition, there is a possibility to move the location of the cargo and the vessel because it is received periodic / non-periodic a load of wave and ocean current. Therefore a shipboard hazard is much greater than onshore industry hazard. Monitoring and preparation for safety are necessary things because there is always risk of accidents arise from the impact of the freight and cargo of ships and offshore structures. In this study, we conducted a study with respect to the introduction of the wireless sensor network monitoring system to ensure the safety of the crew and workers on shipboard.

  • In order to evaluate the safety of navigation at sea and the safety of mooring on berthing, it is necessary that the wave and wind induced ship dynamic motion should be measured in real time domain for the validity of theoretical evaluation method such as sea-keeping performance and safety of mooring. In this paper, the basic design of sensors is discussed and some system configurations were shown. The developed system mainly consists of 4 kinds of sensors such as three-dimensional accelerator, two-dimensional tilt sensor, azimuth sensor and two displacement sensors. Using this measuring system, it can be obtained the 6 degrees of freedom of ship dynamic motions at sea and on berthing such as rolling, pitching, yawing, swaying, heaving, surging under the certain external forces.

  • It is very important to protect life, property at sea and marine environments from any pollution. The RFID when it applies a technique, is able to raise the stability of vessel as controling the mobile course and an entrance and exit of the crews as well as previously preventing accident from the vessel. The RFID technique which is applied, It show the effect which prevents an accident in advance, Currently it is used plentifully from physical distribution field and RFID KS domestic Standard $860MHz{\sim}960MHz$ band use the crew has the RFID tag and it will grasp incoming, leaving and movement.

  • There is a growing concern about the damage to aquatic ecosystem caused by immigration of non-indigenous species. It is estimated that more than 10,000 million tons of ballast water is transported by shipping activities annually, and ballast water has been recognised as a major vector for the transplant of aquatic species across bio-geographical boundaries. The problem of harmful aquatic organism in ballast water for the control and management of ships' ballast water and sediments was adopted and diplomatic conference of IMO at February 2004. At once ballast water is transported by shipping activities for organic compounds, nitrogen, phosphorus and heavy metal etc. but, It's fixing a focus only for the transported of pathogenic bacteria and non-indigenous species. Hence, this studies on the distribution of organic compounds, nitrogen, phosphorus and heavy metal in ballast water during the shipping activity with the basic data which is necessary to the systemic manage of ballast water.

In this paper, we designed and implemented personnel control system using UHF-RFID in vessels which shows through host PC reading and writing tag.
