  • 선박안전법에 따라 대다수의 관공선 주기관은 8년마다 정기 개방검사를 해야 한다. 주기관 특성상 개방검사는 많은 예산 소요 및 엔진 효율성의 저하가 우려되어 이를 해결하고자 관련법에 따라 8년간 개방검사 면제 사전 준비로 예산을 절감하고 기관의 성능을 최적화 시켰다.

  • In shipyards, internal materials are assembled after designing and manufacturing each ship's block. Internal material assembly means the installation of parts and equipment except ship's body. In this process, if the assembly of pipes and equipment existing in the block is not done correctly during the assembly between blocks, this causes a lot of costs. In addition, even if the assembly of the internal materials already completed, the production efficiency of the ship is reduced due to rework when problems such as space arrangement of the internal materials occurs. Therefore, this study introduces space arrangement and inspection system before and after hull outfitting work based on coexistence reality technology using 3D design drawing to solve these problems. The various coexistence reality algorithms and inspection systems developed and introduced in this study are based on AR service, which has never been introduced in Korea. So it will be widely applicable to various manufacturing industries using design drawings such as automobiles and architectures as well as ship building process.

Identifying Analog Gauge Needle Objects Based on Image Processing for a Remote Survey of Maritime Autonomous Surface Ships (자율운항선박의 원격검사를 위한 영상처리 기반의 아날로그 게이지 지시바늘 객체의 식별)

  • Recently, advancements and commercialization in the field of maritime autonomous surface ships (MASS) has rapidly progressed. Concurrently, studies are also underway to develop methods for automatically surveying the condition of various on-board equipment remotely to ensure the navigational safety of MASS. One key issue that has gained prominence is the method to obtain values from analog gauges installed in various equipment through image processing. This approach has the advantage of enabling the non-contact detection of gauge values without modifying or changing already installed or planned equipment, eliminating the need for type approval changes from shipping classifications. The objective of this study was to identify a dynamically changing indicator needle within noisy images of analog gauges. The needle object must be identified because its position significantly affects the accurate reading of gauge values. An analog pressure gauge attached to an emergency fire pump model was used for image capture to identify the needle object. The acquired images were pre-processed through Gaussian filtering, thresholding, and morphological operations. The needle object was then identified through Hough Transform. The experimental results confirmed that the center and object of the indicator needle could be identified in images of noisy analog gauges. The findings suggest that the image processing method applied in this study can be utilized for shape identification in analog gauges installed on ships. This study is expected to be applicable as an image processing method for the automatic remote survey of MASS.

  • In this paper, the communication method of data information accepted by underwater drones and the implementation method to console display of data information were described, and the function of integrated monitoring system interface and the design and implementation of sonar interface were explained. The operation and posture of underwater drones can be controlled using a controller connected to the console, and the distance information between underwater drones and obstacles is obtained from sonar so that they can be visually displayed on the console screen along with camera images. The integrated monitoring navigation console is implemented to suit improvements, making it convenient and easy for workers to use. In addition, by upgrading integrated monitoring and control software functions, the company added user-specific project management functions and the output of reports for hull inspection to make them different and competitive from other underwater drones.

  • 선박운항중 항해자의 피로도 변화를 연구하기 위하여, 선박운항시뮬레이터를 이용한 항해자의 신체 변화를 분석하였다. 인천항에 입항하는 상황에서 도선사 및 선장 총 12명을 대상으로 플리커(Flicker) 장비를 이용한 시각 피로 변화, 자율신경검사 분석 장비를 이용한 스트레스 및 누적 피로도 변화를 측정하였다.

A Study on the Adoption of Korean Register of Shipping Rules through the Analysis of Pile Driving Boat Capsizing (침몰된 항타선 분석을 통한 한국선급 규칙 적용에 관한 연구)

  • In December 2012, a pile driving boat sunk off the coast of Ulsan port in Korea. The cause of capsizing of these boats was considered a complex problem. Although Korean Ship Safety Technology Authority concluded that leaders (cranes) of the vessel were designed with sufficient safety factors, National Forensic Service concluded that the capsizing was caused by the failure of leaders. This study reviewed the related laws, strength calculations, and structural analysis methods used by the Korea Ship Safety Technology Authority. In addition, numerical simulations were carried out on hydrodynamic analysis and structural analysis to analyze the cause of vessel capsizing based on the rules of the Korean Register of Shipping. The results were similar to those found by National Forensic Service. In conclusion, the study suggested that inspection especially for a pile driving boat subjected to the Korean Register of Shipping rules should be carried out to prevent the similar accident.

  • 선체용 복합재료 및 구조용 접착제와 신공법인 진공 성형법으로 건조한 레저선박에 강화플라스틱 구조기준을 그대로 적용하기에는 무리가 있으며, 따라서 복합재료, 수지, 접착제 및 진공 성형법 등 현장조사를 토대로 복합소재 및 접착제를 이용한 시험편을 제작하여 복합재료의 기계적 특성, 구조용 접착제에 대한 신뢰성 평가 및 국내외 기준 비교 검토를 통한 국내 실정에 적합한 검사기준을 제안하고자 한다.
