A Optimization of the ORC for Ship's Power Generation System (해수 온도차를 이용한 선박의 ORC 발전 시스템 최적화)

  • In this study, for the purpose of reduction of $CO_2$ gas emission and to increase recovery of waste heat from ships, the ORC (Organic Rankine Cycle) is investigated and offered for the conversion of temperature heat to electricity from waste heat energy from ships. Simulation was performed with waste heat from the exhaust gasse which is relatively high temperature and cooling sea water which is relatively low temperature from ships. Various fluid is used for simulation of the ORC system with variable temperature and flow condition and efficiency of system and output power is compared. Finally, 2,400kW output power is obtained by system optimization of the preheater and reheater utilizing waste heat form sea water cooling system.

A Study on the Chemical Treatments Suitable for the Simple Mechanical Manipulation During the Recycling Process of FRP Waste from Ships (폐 선박의 FRP를 재활용 과정에서 용이한 기계적 조작을 위한 화학적 처리 방법에 관한 연구)

  • As one of the methods for recycling the FRP from the small and medium waste ships, separation of roving layer from the mat has some merits in a sense of the recycling energy and the environmental effects. Similar characteristics, however, between the roving and the mat even with different ratio of the resin and the glass and the thickness of the roving, much thinner than the mat, make the mechanically automatic differentiation difficult. In this study spectrochemical differentiation between the two layers has been made using (1) boiling concentrated sulfuric acid which can dissolve the resin in the FRP layer, (2) methanol and isopropanol solution saturated with KOH which can dissolve the glass, or (3) hydrogen fluoride(HF) solution which can reacts with $SiO_2$ fragments of the glass. Furthermore coloring water-soluble dye following the HF treatment makes the roving layer more distinguishable photo-physically.

  • The sludge oils were produced necessarily in the ships operation, so that it will be the best way to manage the sludge oils inside ship itself from a viewpoint of the prevention of marine oil pollution from ship. The ultrasonic breaking systems which recycle the sludge oil from ship into usable oil to be brunt is recognized as a most possible recycling device. In this regards, the purpose of this study is to examine erosion damage on the SS400 specimen by cavitation and the effect of impact pressure generated from the demolition of the cavity of ultrasonic vibration in the marine sludge oil environment .. The erosion damage of specimen was investigated mainly on weight loss, weight loss rate and maximum erosion rate with variation of the oil temperature as well as the change of space between transducer horn and specimen. The experimental results showed that as the space between ultrasonic vibrator horn and specimen disk increased, the weight loss and weight loss rate decreased and the values were larger in SFO than in SLO. The experimental results can be useful to the development of sludge oil disposing systems and to consider a countermeasure for the prevention of erosion damages by cavitation.

  • In the last decade, increasing national research fund for recycling the waste FRP (fiber reinforced plastics) ships which has caused environmental problems, improves the technology making concrete-reinforcing fibers out of the waste FRP. Furthermore, the concrete with recycled FRP fiber was tested for the structural performance. Experimental strength tests show that use of recycled FRP powder does not reduce the compressive strength of high strength concrete, and does increase the fire resistance performance of high strength concrete significantly. But, the study in investigating the properties of recycled fiber powder from waste FRP has not been completed because of the absence of the method of separation of mat layer from the waste FRP. This study is to propose a new extracting method of the mat layer from waste FRP, which is the efficient and environment friendly system. and thus it is considered to be the useful recycling method for fire resistance high concrete products or structures.

Effects of Water Cavitation Peening on Cavitation Characteristics of 5000 Series Al Alloys (5000계열 Al 합금의 캐비테이션 특성에 관한 워터 캐비테이션 피닝의 영향)

  • Recently, the construction of the small Al alloy ships is an increasing trend in viewpoint such as the disposal issue of a retired ship, the enhancement of environmental regulation and resources recycling etc. for FRP ships. However, Al alloy ship which can achieve high speed by light weight in marine environment is exposed to a problem on materials damage by cavitation-erosion which is generated by large impact pressure with the collapse of air bubbles due to cavitation. Consequently, in this study, water cavitation peening technology was applied in Al alloy for ship to enhance durability life by preventing cavitation damage. So, the water cavitaton peening application time that presented the excellent cavitation characteristic investigated. The weight-loss of 5456-H116, 5083-H321 and 5052-O Al alloy at the optimum water cavitation peening time were improved to 42.11 %, 50.0 % and 25.7 %, respectively.

  • 폐자원의 재활용은 현재 미래산업을 발전시키는데 중요한 변수로 작용하고 있으며, 폐플라스틱의 경우 통신 케이블 덕트, 고속전철용 케이블 덕트, 선박용 구조체등 고부가가치 제품으로의 기술개발이 활발히 진행되고 있다. 폐 Polyolefin 계열의 수지는 성형가공이 적절한 MFI(Melt flow index)와 뛰어난 기계적 물성, 가공 성형성 등으로 인해 다양한 형태와 용도로 recycling되고 있으나, 재생시 다수 Grade에 의한 분별, 분리수거의 어려움, 상용성결여, 난연성 부재 그리고 70% 대의 기계적 물성 회복율로 인해 그 용도가 제한되고 있는 실정이다.(중략)

  • 그래핀수지로 기존에 황동(Ni-Al-Bronze) 프로펠러 대체 가능 제품의로 고가의 황동을 그래핀수지 특히 재생 플라스틱 활용으로 저가로 공급 가능하다. 또한, 재활용이 가능한 친환경 프로펠러임, 가벼운 소재를 이용하여 연료 효율 증대, 연료 효율을 향상시켜 연안해운 저탄소 실현, 마찰저항을 최소화하여 선박의 추진성능 개선, 해양생물 부착 방지(방오기능)를 통한 프로펠러 수명연장 기대, 프로펠러 검사 및보수 유지비용 절약 기대, 향후 폐기물에 그래핀을 혼합한 재생 자재로 활용 가능이 크다.
