Railway Access Alarm System Using Infrared Distance Sensor and Wireless Communication (적외선 센서와 무선통신을 이용한 열차접근경보시스템 개발)

  • Safety accidents in railway work continue to increase every year; Engineer's negligence, trackside worker's sensory deprivation and signalman's mistake are the main reasons of such incidents. We consider this problem by far the most urgent matter in railway work because of its steady increase and risk of taking a person's life. Based on that account, a new alarm system has developed, that is called Railway Access Alarm System, to allow railway workers to sense the access of trains with not only vision, but also hearing. The detector device of this system is installed on both sides of the track locating 1.5km from the workplace. When the train enters the place, the detector device can sense the entering, sending the detect sign of train to the alarm unit, then the alarm unit warns the workers by the LED lighting and sirens. This system has several advantages compared to previous systems. First, it recognizes the train at a long distance. Secondly, there is no need for wiring work since it is a wireless system. At last, the system works by rechargeable batteries and solar charger so that it is installed in the work places where there is no external power supply. Moreover, it is proven that the system is 100% reliable by the successful on-the spot inspection evaluating the capability.

  • 전기선로전환기는 분기기에 전환력을 공급하기 위한 장치로 전기선로전환기의 선택은 분기기에 연결되는 간류 구조, 침목, 밀착 쇄정기, 밀착 검지기, 연결간 및 벨 크랭크 등에 따른 제약 사항과 함께 검토된다. 본 논문에서는 현재 우리나라에서 사용 중인 전기선로전환기에 대한 특성을 분석한 후, 기존선 속도 향상 및 안전사고 예방을 위한 보안 설비의 추가적인 설치 필요성 분석 및 속도 향상을 위한 요구 사양을 분석하였다.

  • To change rail tracks from main track to another track, it needs a device that is called the turnout point. If the point which is composed of accurate parts and complex sensors does not work, And also, serious problems will be arisen. However, there are serious problems by the failure of the point. In this paper, after analyzing the failures of the conventional points, a new point is suggested. The proposed point is not affected by the surge caused by lightning.

  • In the past decades, complain about ground vibration and noise induced by pile driving has been quickly increased. Because of that, auger The role of train has expanded as mass transportation according to the increase of train passenger. The train operation personnel are more emphasis on the safety of train operation due to the increase of train's role. The reason is that the train transports many people daily. So, if there is natural disaster, such as earthquake, flood, high temperature, and so on, it will become disaster. Therefore, this paper introduces and proposes wayside detection system, which can be helpful for the safety assurance of train operation.

  • Depending on the operating characteristics, track circuit is installed for the purpose of direct or indirect control of the signal device, point switch machine and other security device. These are mainly used for train detection, transmission of information, broken rail detection and transmission of return current. Especially, the return current is related to signal system, power system and catenary line, and track circuit systems. It is one of the most important component shall be dealt for the safety of track side staff and for the protection of railway-related electrical system according to electrification. Therefore, an accurate analysis of the return current is needed to prevent the return current unbalance and the system induced disorder and failure due to an over current condition. Also, if the malfunction occurred by the return current harmonics, it can cause problems including train operation interruption. In this paper, we presented measurement and analysis method at return current and it's harmonics by high speed train operation on the honam high speed line.

  • This In the railway signaling system, applications of axle counter in addition to track circuit goes on increasing for detecting train position. Consequently, this paper compares sensor methods of axle counter with between geo-magnetism method and proximity sensor method. And it presents differences and results, to improve reliabilities of train detection and axle counting. Also, this article presents an applied result which is based on field experience, with regard to installation, considering attachment condition of sensor part for accurate axle counting. This study acquires expandability that is able to perform not only axle counting function but also various other functions (direction detection of train, speed detection of train, and so on). It was a result of a change of design in order to judge phase difference of sensors, to improve reliability of axle counting. Furthermore, it does not subordinate to characteristics (type, weight of train). And it is confirmed that the omission of axle counting was not occurred in 350km/h. This was the result of Lab test after the construction of transfer equipment of trial axle and Test Bed for axle counting. Both of them are self-productions. Through this, it prepares foundation which is able to apply not only to train detection but also to speed of passing trains, formation number of trains, detector locking condition - when the train passes the section of switch point, and level crossing devices. Furthermore, it would be judged to contribute safety train operation if proximity sensor method applies to the whole railway signaling system from now on.

  • 2004년 경부고속철도가 개통된 이후, 열차제어시스템에 있어서 크고 작은 여러 가지 문제점이 시스템의 안정화를 위한 초기 단계의 형태로서 발생되었다. 특히 국내에서 처음으로 열차가 300km/h로 운행됨에 따라, 열차의 고속 운행 환경에 대한 운영 및 유지보수의 어려움이 자주 유발되었다. 한 예로 2005년에는 서울에서 약 170km 남쪽에 위치한 칠곡 신호기계실(IEC) 지역에 설치된 선로변 설비인 HBD의 오동작이 발생됨에 따라 관련 설비에 대한 신뢰성은 물론 설비의 기능상의 문제점까지 전면적인 검토를 필요로 하였다. 본 논문에서는 고속선 운영 및 유지보수에 있어서 선로변 설비의 장애 원인을 조사, 분석, 검토함으로서 고속선 열차제어시스템 HBD에 대한 안정적인 운영 및 유지보수를 구현하기 위한 방안 제시를 주요 목적으로 한다.

  • Track circuit is a simple electrical device which lies in the connection of the two rails by the wheels and axle of locomotives and rolling stock to short out an electrical circuit, used to detect the absence of a train on rail tracks. In railway signaling system, there are similar systems such as RFID and wheel sensor, GPS etc, are research and developing. Hybrid track circuit is using RFID antenna and reader on the cab and RFID tag on the sleeper. because of the safety in railway operation, tag detection of train position detection function in the hybrid track circuit needs high reliability. This paper studied tag recognition enhancement used tag angles.

  • The abnormally high temperature of the train part is related to train accidents and monitoring is important for safe operation of trains. In case of KTX an abnormality detecting device that detects the abnormality of the axle and scans the urban railway is installed on the railroad and when there is an abnormal heat generation, a system for automatically informing the control center is installed. The IR sensors module used in this system are depend on quick response. we have conducted a study on the fast response test method through the production of experimental equipments.
