This study campares and analyzes the cataloging rules of the monographic publications included in the 4th edition of the Korean Cataloging Rules(KCR) & the 1st revision of the 3rd edition of the KCR. Especially it focuses on the different rules applied for the same specified areas, such as Title & Statement of Responsibility Area, Edition Area, Material Specific Details Area, Publication. Distribution, Etc., Area, etc. As a result, this analysis can be useful for cataloging monographic publications and so that the KCR4 will remain a viable standard for bibliographic description and access into the future.

This study is to analyze the characteristics of 2019 revised RDA and suggest the consideration in aspects of cataloging using the literature reviews. The following 3 things are suggested with analyzing the revised RDA. First, high quality data such as supplementing cataloging data and constructing vocabulary encoding schemes should be needed to transform bibliographic data to linked data for the semantic web. Second, MARC should be expanded to accept the new conept of LRM and linked data being reflected in revised RDA because MARC is the unique encoding format untile linked data will be transformed from MARC data. Third, the policy statement and the application profile are needed for describing resource consistently because each entity and element has own condition and option, and there are different elements for applying rules in revised RDA. Based on this study, the RDA related researches should be in progress such as exapanding BIBFRAME as well as MARC to accept the new concepts in revised RDA, and, also, reflecting and accepting RDA being able to use revised RDA rules and registries in libraries and nations that have been faced to revise their own cataloging rules.

This study aims to 1) analyse the current RDA application and training and 2) develop an on-the-job training model for Korean library and information professionals. For this purpose, this study collected and analysed comprehensively RDA on-the-job training programs in the major foreign national libraries, consortium, college libraries, etc. Then, this study presented application methodology of the devised training model to the National library of Korea depending on the RDA application process. Also, the significant consideration for the RDA implementation by type of libraries was suggested.

본 연구의 목적은 국내 문헌정보학 프로그램의 현황과 문제점을 고찰한 후, 이와 개선을 통하여 효율적인 교육과정의 개선방안을 제시하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 질적인 서술방식과 계량적연구를 병행하여 수행하였다. 질적인 연구에서는 기존의 연구결과와 현황에 근거한 문헌정보학의 최근 동향에 대하여 서술하고, 기록보존 관련과목과 사서교사교육과정과 관련된 내용에 대하여 고찰하였다. 계량적 연구의 수행을 위하여는 먼저 문헌정보학을 3개분야 (도서관학, 정보학, 서지학과 기타분야), 15개 세부영역으로 나누어 분류하였다. 이 분류방식에 근거하여 준비된 설문지를 사용하여 대구경북지역 내 도서관 현장근무자 및 재학생들의 요구를 파악하기 위하여 설문조사를 실시하였다. 206개의 이용가능한 데이터를 수집하여 여러 종류의 기술적, 추리적 통계분석방법과 SPSS를 사용하여 분석한 계량적 연구의 주요발견사항을 함께 기술하였다. 따라서 본 연구는 급속히 변화되는 사회 및 교육환경에 맞는 문헌정보학 교육과정의 개편에 일조할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

이제 국내에서도 특허 DB의 대부분이 온라인으로 되어 그 검색이 용이해졌다. 현재 특허 DB를 제공하고 있는 곳은 7군데 가량 되며 각 기관이 보유하고 있는 특허 자료의 수록 기간과 수록 항목, 또한 검색 가능한 항목이 차이가 있으면 또한 검색 비용에서도 많은 차이를 보이고 있다. 국내 특허 정보의 검색시 번호조회와 같이 특허정보를 출원번호나 분류등의 서지사항으로 검색이 가능한 것과 권리나 기술에 관한 주제 검색의 경우와 같이 보다 복잡한 검색을 필요로 하고 전문적인 특허에 대한 지식을 필요로 하는 경우가 있다. 또한 특정 기술에 대한 최신 동향 조사는 온라인을 통하여 방대한 자료를 입수하는 것보다 관련 특허 CD-ROM을 통하여 조사하는 것이 효과적일 것이다. 따라서 본고에서는 현재 국내에서 국내 특허 DB를 검색할 수 있는 DB를 선택하여 각각의 특징 및 장단점을 비교 분석함으로써 실제 검색할 때 어떤 목적으로 어떤 결과를 원하느냐에 따라 적절한 DB의 선택에 도움을 주고자 한다.

This study first compared and analyzed AACR2(1998 Revision), ISBD(ER), CCM Module 31, OCLC Manual according to chief areas related to cataloging Internet-based electronic journal. Also, it analyzed the fields and characteristics related to it in USMARC. Next, it reviewed the problems of cataloging Internet-based electronic journal and suggested it's improvements. As a result, this study can be used as the basic data to develop KCR and KORMARC format appropriate to cataloging Internet-based electronic journal.

This study aims to explore preferred title and authorized access points for religious works with sample bibliographic data and authority data. To this end, this study (1) reviewed RDA and recently revised KCR as cataloging rules, (2) investigated the preferred titles and authorized access points of religious works in major national libraries as a case study, and finally (3) suggested a method for constructing preferred titles and authorized access points for religious works in Korean libraries using sample data. The data needed for the study were collected through literature research and case studies, and additional email inquiry with the catalog librarians was conducted. As a result of the study, preferred titles and authorized access points for religious works were proposed in the form of KORMARC bibliographic and authority data.

This study is to suggest the considerations in the rules for authorized access points for collocation of music work by figuring out the directions of authorized access points in FRBR, LRM, ICP 2016, RDA, and BIBFRAME, and by analyzing RDA rules for attributes and authorized access points of music works and expression and VIAF examples. First, an aggregated authorized access points were suggested as the direction of authorized access points, and original title may be selected as preferred title and the authorized access point may be based on forms in one of the languages suited to the users, if the original title is not normally suited. Second, music works's authorized access points is consisted of composer authorized access point and preferred title, and of adapter's authorized access point and preferred title in case of lacks of responsibility in composer. Also, the authorized access point of Korean traditional music work must be reviewed according to work types considering the responsibility of composer. Third, the controlled vocabularies for name of music type, medium of performance, and key could be considered for describing the attributes of work and expression. This study would be the foundation study for the authorized access point of music work, and additional research should be completed through surveying music user's need.

This study was to develop KORMARC-bibliographic format reflecting cataloging trends after LRM using literature review, analysis of MARC 21 discussion papers, and comparison of the fields in MARC 21 and KORMARC. The acceptance and consideration of fields and sub-fields that need to be revised in KORMARC are as follows. First, in terms of LRM / RDA, fields 381 or 387 for the representative expression, field 881 and the change and addition of its sub-fields for the manifestation statement, and data provenance code to ▾7 sub-field for date provenance may be considered. Second, in terms of Linked Data, ▾1 sub-field for RWO, and field 758 for related work identifier can be added. Third, for the data exchange of KORMARC and BIBFRAME, it should be developed in consideration of mapping with BIBFRAME classes and attributes in KORMARC. Fourth, additional fields such as 251 version information, 334 mode of issuance, 335 expansion plan, 341 accessibility content, 348 format of notated music, 353 supplementary content characteristics, 532 accessibility note, 370 associated place, 385 audience characteristics, 386 creator/contributor characteristics, 388 time period of creation, 688 subject added entry-type of entity unspecified, 884 description conversion information, 885 matching information could be developed. This study will be used to revise KORMARC-bibliographic format and to build and utilize bibliographic data in domestic libraries.

The Joint Steering Committee represented final draft of RDA that can be replaced for AACR3 on November third in 2008. RDA is aiming at standard of international cataloging rules fo the purpose of providing the bibliographic description and the access point of all media, and when it will be realized, KCR4 4th edtion have to revised to following up it. This study analyzes both cataloging rules of RDA and KCR4 in each area of KCR 4th edition. As a result, it present the points to take into consideration as revising KCR4.
