Recently, passengers using public transport are concerned about the effects of COVID-19 and fine dust. Therefore, from February 2020 to February 2021, we investigated whether SARS-CoV-2 RNA was detected even after disinfection in 55 public transportation places visited by confirmed patients in Seoul. 34 air samples and 702 object surface samples were collected and tested with RT-PCR, one surface sample was positive. In addition, preemptive investigations were conducted in 22 subway trains that passengers were being on board at that time. 1,018 preemptive tests were performed, and all were negative. Although PM-2.5 is dangerous in itself, it can be a potential carrier of viruses. It seemed that a solution was needed as one line continuously exceeded the criteria of PM-2.5. Through this study, it is judged that cluster infection in public transportation can be prevented if efforts to reduce the concentration of fine dust, appropriate disinfection management, and personal disinfection such as wearing a mask in public transportations.

서울특별시는 지난 5월 16일 "서울특별시 지역건설산업 활성화에 관한 조례"를 개정 공포했다. 서울특별시는 사업의 기본계획 단계에서 분할발주 여부를 검토 시행하고, 활성화 추진 목표 달성 현황을 매 반기별로 건설위원회에 보고토록 제도화함으로써 지역중소건설업체의 분할발주 활성화에 물꼬를 텄다. 주요 개정내용으로는 지역 중소건설업자의 공사참여 기회를 보장하기 위하여 분할 발주 가능 여부를 판단함에 있어 예산편성과 기본설계 등 사업의 계획단계부터 검토 시행토록(제6조제2항, 신설) 했으며, 매년 반기별로 활성화계획의 추진 목표 달성 현황을 보고하되 정성적인 부분과 정량적인 부분을 모두 보고토록(제4조제6항, 신설) 한 것이다. 이번 조례 개정으로 서울특별시는 "공사의 성격상 공종을 분리하여도 하자책임 구분이 용이하고 품질 및 안전관리에 지장이 없는 기계설비공사 등에 대해 분리발주를 적극 적용함으로써 지역 중소전문건설업체의 권익을 도모하는 한편 타 시 도의 표본이 될 수 있을 것으로 기대한다"고 밝혔다.

"도서관법" 제2조에서는 "공공도서관이라 함은 공중의 정보이용 문화활동 독서활동 및 평생교육을 위하여 국가 또는 지방자치단체가 설립 운영하는 도서관 또는 법인, 단체 및 개인이 설립 운영하는 도서관을 말한다."라고 정의하고 있다. 서울특별시 공공도서관에 몸담아 온 지 30여년이 가까워 오는 사서로서 도서관 경영, 시스템, 이용자서비스, 프로그램 등의 영역에서 많은 변화를 경험하였고, 앞으로 더욱 빠른 변화가 예상되기에 현 시점에서 서울특별시 공공도서관의 변천을 돌아보는 것도 의미 있는 일이라 생각한다. 2010년 국가도서관통계를 기준으로 서울에는 총 666개의 공공도서관(작은도서관 등 포함)이 있고, 그중 서울특별시교육청 소속 공공도서관(평생학습관 포함)은 총 22개가 있다. 여기에서는 서울특별시교육청 소속 공공도서관 및 평생학습관의 변천에 대해서 개략적으로 살펴보되 도서관 설립과 통계 부문을 다루고자 한다.

Objectives: This study was designed to evaluate the filtration efficiency, inhalation resistance, and liquid resistance of commercial reusable masks in comparison to the performance of KF-AD masks (reference masks). Methods: Thirty-six masks were purchased from an online market. Filtration efficiency and inhalation resistance were determined in the same manner as in MFDS certification testing, respectively using TIL/IL & Filter Test 1300S (SFP Services, UK) and Breathing Resistance Analyzer DA2001 (Lambda Ray, South Korea). Results: Most of the filtration efficiencies found for the 19 masks were far lower than the test standard for KF-certified masks. Four masks met KF94 and three masks even met KF80. Most inhalation resistances were also much lower than the standard, with many almost one-half of the standard. In addition, all the masks except KF-AD masks did not pass the liquid resistance test. Conclusions: Although most of the filtration efficiency performance results found in this study for the reusable masks, which emerged as an alternative, were lower than the standard for health masks, multi-use masks can be used with a replacement filter inserted.

Objectives: In this study, the safety of alcohol-based hand sanitizers (ABHSs) for quasi-drugs and cosmetics was investigated by analyzing the ethanol content, which is an active ingredient with a sterilizing effect, and methanol, which is toxic. Methods: Forty-one ABHSs were purchased at large supermarkets and online stores. Ethanol quantification was performed by gas chromatography-flame ionization detector, and methanol quantification was performed by headspace-gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. Results: The ethanol content of ABHS in quasi-drugs was 49.6-67.8%, which was suitable for standard manufacturing procedures for external disinfectants, and the ethanol content of ABHS in cosmetics was 9.1-61.3%. The methanol content of ABHS in quasi-drugs ranged from not detected(N.D.)-131.8 ppm, which was suitable for the methanol detection standard of ethanol raw materials in the Korean Pharmacopoeia. The methanol content of ABHS in cosmetics was 23.4-859.7 ppm, which was suitable for the detection limit of methanol in cosmetics. Conclusions: The ethanol and methanol content of ABHS was judged to be safe. When selecting an ABHS to be used for sterilization, it seems necessary to check the content of ethanol, an active ingredient, and use it according to its intended purpose.

지난 3월과 4월 전국 시 도회 정기총회가 개최되어 제8대 시 도회장이 새롭게 구성됐다. 이에 따라 전국 시 도회는 시 도회장을 중심으로 제8대 집행부를 새롭게 구성하는 등 조직 갖추기에 돌입했다. 본지는 향후 3년간 시 도회를 이끌어 나갈 시 도회장을 인터뷰하여 향후 사업계획을 들어보는 자리를 마련했다. 이번호에는 이상일 서울특별시회 회장을 만나보았다.

서울특별시 광역하수처리계획에 따른 기본계획 작성과 실시설계에 앞서 선진외국의 하수도시설을 시찰한 구미 및 동남아세아지역 하수도 시찰 보고서를 3회에 걸쳐 게재하오니 많은 참고 바랍니다. 이번 하수시찰단은 정규영 서울특별시하수국장 (본회부회장)을 단장으로 하여 이후철 (서울특별시 하수국 하수시설과장, 본회회원), 박중현 (서울대 공대교수.본회이사), 신응배 (한국과학기술연구소 환경실장) 박사 등 4명으로 시찰기간은 1977년 2월1일부터 2월27일까지였다.

The causes of sudden death after medullary infarction involve arrhythmia, central respiratory failure, and dysautonomia. Sudden cardiac arrest in a medullary infarction is uncommon. Most of these cases experienced sudden cardiopulmonary arrest within 2 weeks from stroke onset as the extent of lesion increased. Here, we report two cases of medullary infarction presenting as sudden cardiac arrest. These cases indicate that medullary infarction could be one of the causes of sudden cardiac arrest.
