Analysis on Error Types of Descriptive Evaluations in the Learning of Elementary Mathematics (초등수학 서술형 평가에서 나타나는 오류 유형 분석)

  • This study questions that mathematical evaluations strive to memorize fragmentary knowledge and have an objective test. To solve these problems on mathematical education We did descriptive test. Through the descriptive test, students think and express their ideas freely using mathematical terms. We want to know if that procedure is correct or not, and, if they understand what was being presented. We studied this because We want to analyze where and what kinds of faults they committed, and be able to correct an error so as to establish a correct mathematical concept. The result from this study can be summarized as the following; First, the mistakes students make when solving the descriptive tests can be divided into six things: error of question understanding, error of concept principle, error of data using, error of solving procedure, error of recording procedure, and solving procedure omissions. Second, students had difficulty with the part of the descriptive test that used logical thinking defined by mathematical terms. Third, errors pattern varied as did students' ability level. For high level students, there were a lot of cases of the solving procedure being correct, but simple calculations were not correct. There were also some mistakes due to some students' lack of concept understanding. For middle level students, they couldn't understand questions well, and they analyzed questions arbitrarily. They also have a tendency to solve questions using a wrong strategy with data that only they can understand. Low level students generally had difficulty understanding questions. Even when they understood questions, they couldn't derive the answers because they have a shortage of related knowledge as well as low enthusiasm on the subject.

Case Study on Teaching Practice for Biological Adaptation of Elementary School Teachers: Focus on the Influence of Teacher's Guide and Teachers' Understanding and Belief of Biological Evolution (초등교사의 생물의 적응에 관한 수업에서 나타난 교수실행 사례 연구 -교사용 지도서와 교사의 진화 개념 이해 및 신념의 영향을 중심으로-)

  • In this study, we examine whether the description of the elementary science curriculum guide, the concept of evolution, and the beliefs of teachers affect the teaching practice in classes related to adaptation of elementary school teachers. First, we examined the alternative concept among the sentences described in the bio-adaptation-related unit of the 2009 Elementary Science Curriculum Teacher's Guide and identified the effects of this description on the teaching practice of elementary school teachers. Next, six elementary school teachers were classified according to the results of the evolutionary concept test paper and the evolutionary belief test paper, and based on the class recording data and interview data, whether there is a difference in teaching execution. As a result, it was confirmed that there were a total of 18 descriptions corresponding to the concept of evolutionary alternatives in the analysis of instruction descriptions, and that these descriptions influenced elementary school teachers' adaptation concepts and teaching practice. Next, the group with high and low levels of evolution differ in the areas of "recognition of importance in the unit, distinction between adaptation concepts in the general sense and adaptation concepts in the biological sense, errors in the class," and "recognition of evolutionary education needs in the elementary curriculum." This study is meaningful in that it qualitatively confirms the research on the evolution concept of elementary school teachers, which has been approached quantitatively, and in-depth, confirms how the description, evolution concepts, and evolutionary beliefs affect elementary school teachers' biological adaptation concepts.

Symbol Statements in Middle School Mathematics Textbooks: How to Read and Understand Them? (중학교 수학 교과서에 제시된 기호의 서술: 어떻게 읽고 이해할 것인가?)

  • Mathematical symbols concisely represent mathematical contents related to terms by describing their mathematical meanings implicitly. All symbols in elementary school mathematics textbooks are stated as to be read so that elementary school students could understand their mathematical meanings. The same is somewhat true as in middle school mathematics textbooks, however it is often the case that some symbols are difficult to be read and understood because their statements are unclear or different. In this study, we analyze problems and suggest implications on teaching and learning mathematics based on the statements and understanding of reading symbols in middle school mathematics textbooks.

  • Web services promise a new level of service on top of current web. However, in order to employ their full potential, appropriate descriptions means for web services need to be developed. Recent efforts to describe web service composition lack important features needed to enable a real automated and declarative combination of services. In this paper a set of requirements for effective Semantic Web Service composition are presented, aiming to clarify the state of the art in the area and at providing guidelines to define next steps to be accomplished. We will provide an analysis of BEPEL4WS, DAML-S and WSMF, the most important initiatives in this direction, based on these requirements, describing to what extent current efforts have developed the potential of Semantic Web Service composition.

  • 물체 인식 및 추적 기술은 기계가 영상 정보를 기반으로 주변을 인지하고 정황을 파악하는 컴퓨터 비전 분야의 매우 중요한 연구 영역 중 하나이다. 현재까지 이러한 물체 인식/추적에 대한 다양한 연구들이 있어 왔고, 최근 증강현실에 대한 높은 관심을 바탕으로 증강현실을 위한 영상 정보 기반의 정확하고 정교한 추적 기술에 대한 관심 또한 매우 높아졌다. 본 논문에서는 텍스쳐가 없는 단색의 블록에 대해 증강현실을 실현하기 위한 물체 추적 방식을 제안한다. 제안하는 방식은 다수의 블록들을 조합하여 구성하고, 이 조합으로부터 추출한 특징점에 색상 정보 기반의 지역 서술자를 정의함으로써 사전에 정의된 서술자와 의 비교를 통해 물체를 추적하는 방식이다. 제안된 추적 방식은 사전에 기준이 되는 지역 서술자를 정의함에 있어서 기준 영상에 다양한 어파인 변환을 적용함으로써 카메라와 대상물과의 각도가 큰 입력 영상에 대해서도 추적에 실패하지 않는다. 실험을 통해 제안된 방식을 집 모양으로 구성한 블록 조합에 적용하여 3차원 가상 콘텐츠를 증강시켜 봄으로써 제안된 방식의 유용성을 확인하였다. 제안된 방식은 텍스쳐가 없는 환경에서 사용자의 상호작용으로 텍스쳐를 구성하고 이를 추적하는 방식으로 향후 아이들을 위한 교육 프로그램, 모바일 기기에서의 응용 프로그램 등으로 적용 가능하다.

The tradition in description of the history of modern design and overcoming its limitations (모던디자인 역사 서술의 전통과 극복)

  • This paper aims to examine how the history of modern design has been described and what has been turned out to be shortcomings and limitations in its description. Traditionally, description of the history of modern design shows over generalization, which means that it suppresses or distorts various and individual designs, stressing on the mainstream of design history. Also it, focusing on some selected designs in hegemony, depicts their characteristics and relations too lineally, and regards a hero-centered history as universal or absolute one. As this tradition is generalized, we are ofter reminded of 'modern design' when touched by ‘design,’ and of colonial heroes and heroism when touched by ‘modern design.’ In this context, this paper will argue that we need to accept various design histories, keeping the subjective attitudes toward history.

  • This Paper discusses about the popularity of indie games that have recently caught spotlight from multiple platforms by finding the reason from the games' innovative way of interaction and new attempts in narrative style, and the objective is a preliminary study on indie games' game design, storytelling and it's prestige. This paper focuses on the aspects of indie games compared to established studio games by means of interaction mechanism, directing style and narrative style, and analyzed it with examples. In addition, it looks into examples of Korean indie games entering global platforms such as Steam.

  • A real-time violence detection algorithm based on a new descriptor using the magnitude and direction changes of movement in images is proposed. The descriptor was developed from the observation that the changes of violent actions are much larger than those of normal movements. Descriptor feature vectors consisting of descriptor values during several frames are obtained and these are inputs to SVM(Support Vector Machine) classifier for discriminating violence actions from and non-violence actions. Comparison experiments between the ViF(Violent Flow) and the proposed algorithm were conducted with three different types of datasets. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm outperforms the ViF in every case.

  • Mathematical process is an issue in current mathematics education. In this paper discuss how to assess the mathematical process using essay type questions. For this we first suggest the concept of Mathematical Process Oriented Question which is an essay type question and possible to assess mathematical processes, that is, the mathematical communication, reasoning, and problem solving as well as mathematics knowledge. And we develop a framework for developing the mathematical process oriented question and rubric, examples of assessment standards and those questions containing rubric for assessing mathematical processes. The results of this paper can serve as basic data and examples for follow up research about mathematical process assessment.

  • 본 논문에서는 서술형 수학 문제 풀이 모델의 숫자 대소관계 파악을 위한 명시적 자질추출방식 Explicit Feature Extraction(EFE) Reasoner 모델을 제안한다. 서술형 수학 문제는 자연현상이나 일상에서 벌어지는 사건을 수학적으로 기술한 문제이다. 서술형 수학 문제 풀이를 위해서는 인공지능 모델이 문장에 함축된 논리를 파악하여 수식 또는 답을 도출해야 한다. 때문에 서술형 수학 문제 데이터셋은 인공지능 모델의 언어 이해 및 추론 능력을 평가하는 지표로 활용되고 있다. 기존 연구에서는 문제를 이해할 때 숫자의 대소관계를 파악하지 않고 문제에 등장하는 변수의 논리적인 관계만을 사용하여 수식을 도출한다는 한계점이 존재했다. 본 논문에서는 자연어 이해계열 모델 중 SVAMP 데이터셋에서 가장 높은 성능을 내고 있는 Deductive-Reasoner 모델에 숫자의 대소관계를 파악할 수 있는 방법론인 EFE 를 적용했을 때 RoBERTa-base 에서 1.1%, RoBERTa-large 에서 2.8%의 성능 향상을 얻었다. 이 결과를 통해 자연어 이해 모델이 숫자의 대소관계를 이해하는 것이 정답률 향상에 기여할 수 있음을 확인한다.
