A Handoff Scheme using a Small Scale Multicast Tree (소규모 멀티캐스트를 이용한 핸드오프 기법)

  • 멀티캐스트 환경에서 핸드오프 지연시간은 유니캐스트 환경보다 크다. 이는 멀티캐스트 트리의 재구성에 따른 지연시간으로 이동환경에서는 핸드오프를 수행할 때 마다 발생한다. 따라서 이동단말이 수신하는 패킷의 손실을 감소시키고 적정한 서비스를 제공하기 위해서 멀티캐스트 재구성 시간을 감소시켜야 한다. 본 논문에서는 이동단말을 중심으로 소규모 멀티캐스트를 구성하여 핸드오프 시에 발생하는 지연시간을 감소시키는 기법을 제안한다. 제안한 기법은 단말이 이동할 경우 도착한 서브넷을 중심으로 소규모 멀티캐스트 트리를 구성하도록 하여 단말이 이동할 때 발생하는 멀티캐스트 재구성시간을 감소시켜 패킷손실 없이 멀티캐스트 패킷을 수신할 수 있도록 하였다. 또한 모의실험을 통해 패킷손실율이 낮아지는 것을 확인하였다.

  • Mobile multimedia services such as TV-call or video streaming are gradually becoming popular in the 3rd or more generation mobile network (IMT-2000). Multimedia traffic is expected to continue increasing into the coming years, and IP technology is considered to be the efficient way of transporting such huge volumes of multimedia traffic. IP-based IMT network platform represents an evolution from IMT-2000. The structure of IP-based IMT network as ubiquitous platform is three-layered model : Middleware including Network Control PlatForm (NCPF) and Service Support PlatForm (SSPF), IP-BackBone (IP-BB), access network including sensor network. Mobility Management (MM) architecture in NCPF is proposed for IP-based IMT network in order to manage routing information and location information separately. The generous existing method of multicast control in IP-based IMT network is Remote Subscription. But Remote Subscription has problem that should be reconstructed whole multicast tree when sender in multicast tree moves to another area. To solve this problem, we propose the way to put Multicast-manager in NCPF.

  • 소프트웨어 설계와 관련하여 OMG의 UML은 객체지향모델링에 대해서 표준화된 언어에 지원이 가능하여 널리 사용되고 있다. 그리고 마크업언어로는 일반적으로 DTD와 XML 스키마를 많이 사용하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 클레스내의 단위 엘리먼트의 속성을 부여할 수 있고 모델내의 클래스의 관계를 표현할 수 있는 수퍼클래스와 서브클래스에 대한 정확한 타입의 속성을 표현할 수 있도록 하였다. 그리고 엘리먼트에 대한 어트리뷰트를 표현하는데 다양하고 세부적인 데이터타입이 지원되도록 하여 XMI 메타모델 기반의 메타데이타 생성이 가능한 도구를 설계/구현 하였다.

A Buffer Insertion Method for RLC Interconnects (RLC 연결선의 버퍼 삽입 방법)

  • This paper presents a buffer insertion method for RLC-class interconnect structured as a sin91e line or a tree. First, a closed form expression for the interconnect delay of a CMOS buffer driving single RLC line is represented. This expression has been derived by the n-th power law for deep submicrometer technology and occurs to be within 9 percentage of maximal relative error in accuracy compared with the results of HSPICE simulation for various RLC loads. This paper proposes a closed form expression based on this for the buffer insertion of single RLC lines and the buffer sizing algorithms for RLC tree interconnects to optimize path delays. The proposed buffer insertion algorithms are applied to insert buffers for several interconnect trees with a 0.25${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ CMOS technology and the results are compared against those of HSPICE.

  • The shape-based retrieval is defined as the operation that searches for the (sub) sequences whose shapes are similar to that of a query sequence regardless of their actual element values. In this paper, we propose a similarity model suitable for shape-based retrieval and present an indexing method for supporting the similarity model. The proposed similarity model enables to retrieve similar shapes accurately by providing the combination of various shape-preserving transformations such as normalization, moving average, and time warping. Our indexing method stores every distinct subsequence concisely into the disk-based suffix tree for efficient and adaptive query processing. We allow the user to dynamically choose a similarity model suitable for a given application. More specifically, we allow the user to determine the parameter p of the distance function $L_p$ when submitting a query. The result of extensive experiments revealed that our approach not only successfully finds the subsequences whose shapes are similar to a query shape but also significantly outperforms the sequence search.

Efficient Time-Series Subsequence Matching Using MBR-Safe Property of Piecewise Aggregation Approximation (부분 집계 근사법의 MBR-안전 성질을 이용한 효율적인 시계열 서브시퀀스 매칭)

  • In this paper we address the MBR-safe property of Piecewise Aggregation Approximation(PAA), and propose an of efficient subsequence matching method based on the MBR-safe PAA. A transformation is said to be MBR-safe if a low-dimensional MBR to which a high- dimensional MBR is transformed by the transformation contains every individual low-dimensional sequence to which a high-dimensional sequence is transformed. Using an MBR-safe transformation we can reduce the number of lower-dimensional transformations required in similar sequence matching, since it transforms a high-dimensional MBR itself to a low-dimensional MBR directly. Furthermore, PAA is known as an excellent lower-dimensional transformation single its computation is very simple, and its performance is superior to other transformations. Thus, to integrate these advantages of PAA and MBR-safeness, we first formally confirm the MBR-safe property of PAA, and then improve subsequence matching performance using the MBR-safe PAA. Contributions of the paper can be summarized as follows. First, we propose a PAA-based MBR-safe transformation, called mbrPAA, and formally prove the MBR-safeness of mbrPAA. Second, we propose an mbrPAA-based subsequence matching method, and formally prove its correctness of the proposed method. Third, we present the notion of entry reuse property, and by using the property, we propose an efficient method of constructing high-dimensional MBRs in subsequence matching. Fourth, we show the superiority of mbrPAA through extensive experiments. Experimental results show that, compared with the previous approach, our mbrPAA is 24.2 times faster in the low-dimensional MBR construction and improves subsequence matching performance by up to 65.9%.

Improvement for Facility Location Problem of Perishable Commodities (부패상품 임시물류센터에 대한 위치 문제 개선)

  • This paper suggests simple algorithm of facility location problem in perishable commodities that satisfy with minimum total transportation cost and within the transportation time constraint $L^*$. For this problem, Lee[4] suggests very complex algorithm that decides candidate facility locations, computes total transportation cost for each candidate facility location, then moving the location to optimal location for top two facilities. On the other hand, this paper simply determines the candidate facility locations within $L^*$ using subtree concept, and decides optimal minimal total transportation cost for top two locations in centralized area of required quantity using neighborhood concept.

  • 기존의 연구는 FSM을 기본으로 제어흐름만을 분석하거나 시험목적을 시험열 생성 단계에서 고려하지 않음으로써 시험열의 실제 적용에 있어 많은 문제점을 갖는다. 따라서 이 연구에서는 SDL로 기술된 프로토콜 명세서를 시멘틱 모델인 LTS로 변환 후 LTS로부터 서브투어 단위로 시험열을 생성하였다. 그리고 생성된 시험열을 TTCN으로 변환하고 단위 테스트를 위한 추가 정보로서 프리앰블, 포스트앰블, 리셋 정보등을 LTS로부터 생성하였다. 또한 LTS로부터 한 노드에서 전이 가능한 모든 경로를 트리로 표현함으로서 향상된테스트 커버리지를 갖는 서브투어를 생성하였으며 SDL을 시맨틱 모델인 STS로의변환 EH한 기존의 입력과 출력만을 고려하는 FSM에서 발생하는 비결정성 문제를 해결할 수 있다. 따라서 이 연구에서의 테스트 목적이 고려된 TTCN 표현의 테스트 케이스 생성은 적합성 시험을 위한 테스스 케이스의 실제 적용 및 프로토콜 구현의 생산성을 높일 수 있으며 테스팅 환경의 기반을 제공한다.

Development of CPLD Technology Mapping Algorithm Improving Run-Time under Time Constraint (시간제약 조건하에서 수행시간을 개선한 CPLD 기술 매핑 알고리즘 개발)

  • In this paper, we propose a new CPLD technology mapping algorithm improving run-time under time constraint. In our technology mapping algorithm, a given logic equation is constructed as the DAG type, then the DAG is reconstructed by replicating the node that outdegree is more than or equal to 2. As a result. it makes delay time and the number of CLBs, run-time to be minimized. Also, after the number of multi-level is defined and cost of each nodes is calculated, the graph is partitioned in order to fit to k that is the number of OR term within CLB. The partitioned nodes are merged through collapsing and bin packing is performed in order to fit to the number of OR term within CLB.
