The data collected by individual in-depth interviews and analyzed by Colaizzi's method. As a result of this study, 35 key themes and 11 clusters of themes were derived. The 11 thematic categories are classified in pre-education, in-classroom, and post-education. At the pre-education, the theme clusters are 'lack of information', 'psychological burden', 'different teaching methods', 'improvement of self-directed learning ability', and 'different learner's achievement'. At the in-class, the theme clusters are 'efficient teaching direction' and 'confidence improvement'. At the post-education stage, the theme clusters are 'positive influence on class', 'strengthening self-pay', 'not preferred', and 'lecture preference'. Therefore, a more diversified and in-depth repetitive study is suggested in order to apply the flipped learning method to the nursing major.

  • This paper investigates the determinants of total factor productivity(TFP) growth in Korean logistics industry such as market share, ownership structure, age of firm, firm size and debt ratio. Using financial data on individual firms in Korean logistics industry, we first estimate firm-level TFP growth rate and then, regress the estimated TFP growth rate on individual firms market power and structural characteristics. Our empirical results show that logistics firms market share is negatively correlated with their TFP growth rate. Also, we find that older or larger firms are more likely to have higher TFP growth rate.

  • This study was conducted to discover the meaning and the essential structure of the experiences of nursing students' introductory clinical practice. The participants were eight nursing students who had carried out the introductory clinical practice at a hospital. The data was collected from July 15 2019 to July 31, 2019 through focus group discussions and in-depth individual interviews using non-structured questionnaires. The data was analyzed by Colaizzi's phenomenological analysis methodology. The introductory clinical practice experienced by nursing students was categorized as followed: 'Feel worried and concern about expectations at the same time', 'Hospital experience as reality', 'Becoming accustomed to complexed emotion's, 'The first step of becoming a nurse', and 'Preparation for the future'. The five categories were expanded in the same context according to time. The essential structure of the clinical introductory practice experiences of the nursing students revealed by the study is that they begin to practice feeling worried and concerned about expectations, and concern about experience and adaption to various situations, emotions and preparation for the future. Based on the results obtained from this study, it is necessary to develop a realistic and effective education program before starting clinical practice.

  • This study was conducted to understand and describe in depth the university life experience and the feelings of nursing students who transferred to a new nursing school, and the data was obtained through phenomenological methods. The participants of this study were 8 graduate transfer students who graduated from a 4 year university at C university and had a bachelor degree, and they then transferred into the third year of another 4 year university to study nursing. The data was collected from October 2018 to January 2019 by using in-depth interviews and tape-recording. The interview data was analyzed by the phenomenological analysis method of Giorgi. The analysis revealed the following factors: a feeling of heterogeneity, a feeling of burden, a need for adaption to the department and the responsibility for the choice of transferring schools. In conclusion, it is necessary for the transfer students who have transferred to a nursing department to prepare a plan while still in their first school and that can be done together with their fellow future transferees so that they do not feel a sense of heterogeneity with the existing students. In order for transfer students to bear the burden of studying in the new department, it is suggested that an intervention program should be developed to help transfer students adapt to their major, such as providing a base for efficiently acquiring the major knowledge of the nursing profession.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the factors influencing the willingness of nursing college students to have respect for life and to use them as basic principle to help develop an effective bioethics education program for nursing students. A descriptive study was used with 442 nursing students. Data were collected with a structured questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive analysis, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficients, and Multiple regression. The result showed that factors affecting respect for life and will were meanings of death, death anxiety, death concern and these three variables explained about 43.6% of respect for life and will. It is necessary for nursing students to understand the meaning of death and to reduce death anxiety by improving understanding of meanings of death. It also suggests the need to develop an educational program that can improve the respect for life and will by establishing their own views on death and improving the involvement of death in nursing a dying patient and family.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the degree of suicidal risk, meaning in life, and life respect in various ages of patients and identify factors influencing their life respect. Method: The participants were 229 patients in a public hospital who completed questionnaires. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, Fisher's exact test, ANOVA with Duncan post hoc test, and multiple regression. Results: There was a negative correlation between the meaning of life and life respect in the old age group (r=-.23, p=.02) and all subjects (r=-.14, p=.01) after controlling for age. Factors significantly influencing life respect were gender (${\beta}$=0.11, p=.050) and educational status (${\beta}$=-0.17, p=.022), and the multiple regression model explained 16.7% of the variance in all subjects (p<.001). In the early adulthood group, factors significantly influencing the life respect were gender (${\beta}$=0.18, p<.001) and suicidal thoughts (${\beta}$=0.21, p=.028), and the multiple regression model explained 6.8% of variance in all subjects (p=.001). Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that suicidal prevention and educational programs for increasing an appreciation of life should consider subject's characteristics, such as gender and educational status.

The study is a cross-sectional survey and the participants were 173 students from one university located in M city. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation, and multiple regression and Sobel test to test the significance of a mediation effect using SPSS 21 software. Results of the multiple regression were that communication competence had a significant positive effect on self-esteem and played a partially mediating role between emotional intelligence and self-esteem in nursing students. These findings imply that communication competence is important to improve the level of self-esteem in nursing students. This study highlights the value of fostering communication competence and the need to develop various convergence education strategies to promote communication competence in a balanced way to cultivate nursing students' self-esteem.
