  • Gabensis village is one of the biggest village In the Wampar Local Level Government area within the Huon Gulf District of Morobe Province with a population of around 3,000. The major staple food is banana which is well complemented by minor staples yam, cassava, Singapore/Chinese taro and sweet potato. Apart from gardening for own consumption, the villagers engage in selling of vegetables, garden staples, cocoa beans, coconuts, timber, chicken, fish and pig meat to supplement their livelihood. Livestock like pigs and chickens are also kept for meat and for commercial purpose. Bettlenut which was once one of the main cash crops has now been overtaken by cocoa due to a disease that had attacked almost the entire bettlenut tree population in the area. Even though the Wau-Bulolo highway cuts through the village and all have access to transport infrastructure, the majority of the population still encounter problems in communication due to poor telecommunication coverage. On average most people earn not more than K50 per week due to constrains in production and marketing among others. Gabensis village has the potential to develop a tourism industry given its natural attraction of Lake Wanam. Beside there is also the natural eel farming and the fish pond at the nearby Potsie village. These natural attractions pose huge tourism potential for the community. As part of government services delivery and development, education and health issues is very much important in the community however there is lack of infrastructural development and poor service delivery especially in the area of health. However, the responsibility is on the community to organize themselves to realize that potential. A well developed agro-ecotourism investments would have positive spillover effects to the community thus contributing towards improving the livelihoods of the many farming families.

제주도(濟州道) 연근해어업(沿近海漁業)의 구조개선(構造改善)에 관한 연구(硏究)

  • 한국(韓國)의 연근해어업(沿近海漁業)은 국내외 여건의 변화로 경쟁력(競爭力)을 잃어가고 있다. 따라서 구조개선(構造改善)을 통한 활로개척의 필요성이 강하게 대두되고 있으나, 중앙정부(中央政府) 차원의 어업여건(漁業與件) 개선은 장기간이 소요될 것으로 예상된다. 따라서 지방화시대(地方化時代)를 맞이하여 수산정책(水産政策)도 지방정책(地方政策)에 의한 지역적 특성을 가진 정책으로 발전시켜나갈 필요가 있다. 여기에서는 그런 차원에서 본토(本土)와는 지리적(地理的), 사회적(社會的), 경제적(經濟的)으로 상당히 독립된 특성을 가지고 있는 제주도(濟州道)에 있어서의 연근해어업(沿近海漁業)에 관한 각종 자료를 이용하여 어업의 현황을 분석하고, 나아가 생산성(生産性)을 보다 향상시킬 수 있는 어업구조(漁業構造)의 개선방향(改善方向)에 관하여 연구하였다. 그 연구결과(硏究結果)는 다음과 같다. 1. 제주도(濟州道) 연근해어업(沿近海漁業)의 실태(實態) 1) 어업인구(漁業人口)는 계속 감소하고 있으며 부녀자(婦女子) 비율이 뚜렷하게 높다. 2) 어선세력(漁船勢力)은 10톤이하의 소형선(小型船)이 꾸준히 증가되고 있으며, 10~50톤급의 증가률(增加率)도 매우 높다. 3) 어항(漁港)은 107개가 있으나 그중 80%는 비법정(非法定)의 소규모(小規模) 어항(漁港)이었다. 4) 어선어업(漁船漁業)은 연승(延繩) 유자망(流刺網) 채낚기 분기초망어업(焚寄抄網漁業) 등을 중심으로 이루어지고 있다. 5) 생산물(生産物)의 종류는 어류(魚類)가 주축을 이루고 있고, 대부분 고급(高級) 어종(魚種)이며, 가격은 상당히 높다. 6) 어선어업(漁船漁業)의 한어기(閑漁期)에 관광산업(觀光産業)과 연계하여 운영하고 있는 유어어업(遊漁漁業)은 상당히 발전할 소지를 가지 고 있다. 2. 문제점(問題點) 1) 어업인구(漁業人口)는 감소하는 반면 부녀자(婦女子)의 참여율은 높아 어선어업(漁船漁業)에 종사할 인력의 수급이 어려우며, 이것이 조업규모(操業規模)를 지속적으로 확대하지 못하는 요인이 되고 있다. 2) 어항시설(漁港施設)이 미비하여 어선어업(漁船漁業)의 규모를 확대시키기가 곤란하다. 3) 연근해어업(沿近海漁業) 어획물(漁獲物)의 판매를 위한 제도 및 시설이 소비환경(消費環境) 및 기호변화(嗜好變化)에 적절히 대응하지 못하고 있다. 4) 유어어선(遊漁漁船)의 운영기반(運營基盤)이 취약하여 활성화되지 못하고 있다. 5) 어업의 경쟁력 확보를 위한 기술교육(技術敎育) 및 연구(硏究) 지도체제(指導體制)가 취약하다. 3. 구조개선(構造改善)의 방향(方向) 1) 어업인력(漁業人力)의 안정적인 수급(需給)을 위하여 어민(漁民)의 정주환경(定住環境)을 개선하고, 어민후계자(漁民後繼者) 육성사업(育成事業)의 자금지원 수준을 향상시켜야 하며, 수산고등학교(水産高等學校) 졸업자(卒業者)를 수산계대학(水産系大學)에 일정 비율 정원외(定員外) 특예입학(特例入學) 시킴으로써 기술(技術)의 고도화(高度化)와 어촌 정착 동기를 높여 주어야 한다. 2) 어업인력(漁業人力) 감소에 대비하여 어선의 장비를 현대화, 생력화(省力化)하여 적은 인력으로도 운영이 가능하도록 유도하여야 한다. 3) 어업의 경쟁력 확보를 위해 어항시설(漁港施設)을 확충하고, 소비자(消費者)의 기호변화(嗜好變化)에 대응하여 위탁판매(委託販賣) 장소를 중심으로 종합어시장(綜合魚市場)을 개설해야 하며, 이와는 별도로 활어위판장(活魚委販場)을 시설하여 어획물(漁獲物) 부가가치제고(附加價値提高) 및 유통개선(流通改善)을 이루어야 할 것이다. 4) 유어어선(遊漁漁船)의 운영도 편의시설(便宜施設)을 확충하고 인공어장(人工漁場)의 조성을 추진하여 안정적인 부업으로 정착될 수 있도록 하는 노력이 필요하다. 5) 연구(硏究) 지도(指導)의 강화를 위하여 제주도(濟州道)에 소재하고 있는 연구(硏究) 지도기관(指導機關)을 적극적으로 활용함은 물론, 필요하다면 기관을 개편 증설하고, 어업인력(漁業人力)의 질적 향상을 위한 어민교육원(漁民敎育院)의 설립도 검토해 볼 필요가 있다.

  • Cultural goods is carrying nature and value above-mentioned a commodity to what a cultural element was commercialized. And it produced for the purpose of manufacture for popular sales and supply, and holding commercial character. Specially, cultural goods of a museum keeps a good memory to a sightseer, and broaden an educational experience, and the source of profit becomes it to a seller a producer. This cultural goods as they all include the artistic historical figurative background that they are displayed directly and got twisted up to collection have background which became a motive. Cultural goods can acquire cultural difference in globalization and have to be based on the soil of cultural heritage, starting around various cultural materials through practical value to a modern life. Internationally, cultural goods using a culture material development have competitiveness of nation as in it. Therefore, Baekje cultural goods need national and positive aid from the government with the customer satisfaction index considering the modern design, an age group, an internal and external commodity as the difficulty of various commodity development and managing museum shop. Furthermore, like overseas museum shop, if we are practically using on-off line, continuous promoting our commodity, and marketing strategy such as a membership system when buy our cultural goods, a special discount event etc., we can contribute to activate local economy as a museum shop when we have responsibility of the function and the part.

자동차 분야의 CALS/EC 구축 방향

  • 이미 전자상거래(EC)가 시간적ㆍ공간적 제약을 극복하고 국경을 초월한 새로운 교역시장 (Cyber Market)으로 등장하고 있으며 세계 자동차 산업은 표준부품의 공동개발 및 조달을 통해 중복투자 방지, 신차개발기간 단축 등 전략적 제휴를 통한 공조ㆍ공생체계 구축을 경쟁적으로 추진하고 있으나 국내 자동차업계는 제품개발, 부품조달, 판매 및 A/S 등 모든 부문을 독자적으로 해결함으로써 경쟁력 제고에 역행하는 경향이 있다. 또한 자동차 선진국과는 달리 국제 경쟁력 강화를 위한 CALS/EC 정보 기반 기술의 실질적인 활용이 미흡한 실정이다. 이러한 현실을 개선하기 위해 최근에 자동차공업협회(KAMA)와 현대, 대우, 기아 자동차 3사는 자동차 산업 CALS 추진 모델(Autopia)의 구축을 추진하고 있다. 추진 내용은 자동차 산업의 전체 Life-Cycle인 제품기획 단계부터 설계, 생산, 구매/조달, 고객지원 단계등 전 분야를 3개 부문(신차개발 프로세스, 구매조달 프로세스, 고객지원 서비스)으로 구분되어 있다. 신차개발 프로세스 부문은 차세대 PDM을 통하여 제품개발 사이클 단축을 추구하며 STEP을 통한 범용적 설계정보 교환 체계 구현이 기반이 된다. 또한 업무 흐름의 불투명성으로 인한 업무의 불균형 현상 타파와 설계 변경의 효율적 대응을 위하여 Workflow Management가 동시공학에 바탕을 두고 도입 적용되어야 한다. CAD 데이터를 비롯한 방대한 데이터의 효율적 관리를 위해서는 각 프로세스별로 독립된 정보를 체계적으로 관리할 수 있는 통합 환경(Integrated Data Environment)을 구성하여 각 프로세스에 걸쳐 데이터의 처리효율을 증대하여야 한다. 신차개발 부문의 핵심 기술이면서도 현업 적용이 초기 단계인 Digital Mockup과 Virtual Reality의 적용을 위해서는 3D 모델링이 기본 설계 방법으로 적용되어야 하며 이를 통한 어셈블리 및 부품구조의 관리가 이루어져야 한다. 구매조달 프로세스 부문은 자동차 업계의 공통 EDI/EC 네트워크 구축을 통한 경제적인 인프라 구조와 함께 부품 조달 체계의 간소화를 추구함으로써 자동차 산업의 대외 경쟁력 강화가 이루어 질 수 있다. 공개구매 시스템의 구축을 통하여 완성차별로 전속 계열화된 수직적인 부품조달 체계와 업체간 정보공유의 폐쇄성을 제거할 수 있고 완전 경쟁에 의한 우량 협력업체 발굴 기회의 확대가 용이하다. 이를 통하여 궁극적으로는 Global Vendor망의 구축이 실현될 것이다. 종합물류 시스템이 구현되면 판매는 경쟁체제, 물류는 공동화가 됨으로써 국가적으로 물류 비용의 절감이 엄청날 것으로 예상된다. 전국에 산재되어 있는 1,000여개의 대리점과 7,000여개의 정비업소를 대상으로 한 정비부품 EDI/EC 시스템이 구축되면 고객 서비스의 효율 향상과 함께 정비업소의 물류 및 재고 비용의 감소, 조달 속도의 향상, 조달 업무의 간소화 등의 효과를 보게 될 것이다. 고객지원 서비스는 정비정보 시스템, 산업정보 시스템, 쇼핑몰 시스템, 등록대행 시스템등을 통하여 일반 국민들이 피부로 느낄 수 있는 시스템으로 구축 되어야 할 것이다.

Analysis of Catch and Effort by Diving women in Tonggui-ri, Cheju-do (제주도 동귀 어촌계의 잠수노력량 및 어획량분석)

  • Using the eight-year-working diaries($1984{\sim}1991$) of the fishing co-operative in Tonggui-ri, Cheju-do, as well as the records of consignment sale in the fish trust market as the corporate body in Aewol-up, the results have been analyzed as follows. 1. The monthly catch of Turbo cornutus was high from September through December, representing $58.2\%$ of the annual total catches. The maximum sustained yield(MSY) of this stock was estimated to be 2.5 tons. 2. The maximum sustained yields of Haliotis spp. and Sulculus sp. were estimated to be 800kg and 750kg, respectively. 3. The maximum sustained yields of Stichopus sp. and Octopus sp. were 500kg and 2, 500kg, respectively. 4. The total yield of Hizikia fusiforme has been decreasing a little and that of Gelidium sp. has been increasing. The total yield of Gelidium sp. in 1984 was about 5 times greater than that in 1990. 5. The daily catchability by divers have been high at thirties, and the individual mean working day of divers was 101 per year. 6. The consignment sale rates were $100\%$ each for Turbo cornutus, Hiziki fusiforme and Gelidium sp., $25.5\%$ and $61.1\%$ for Haliotis sp. and Stichopus sp. respectively, and $0\%$ each for Sulculus sp. and Octopus sp.

A Study on Price Asymmetries in Local Petroleum Markets (석유제품의 가격 비대칭성에 관한 연구)

  • Output prices tend to respond faster to input price increases than to decreases. The 'rockets and feathers' hypothesis of asymmetric price behavior in petroleum market is tested by a full adjustment error correction model. Using monthly data for the period January 1977 to June 2006, evidence is found that there is a significant degree of asymmetry in the adjustment of wholesale prices to increases and to decreases in crude oil price. A similar hypothesis in regard to the exchange rate is also rejected by the data. Using weekly data over the period examined, evidence of asymmetry for gasoline, diesel and heating oil is also found in the transmission of price changes from wholesale to retail: retail prices increase more quickly in response to the wholesale price increases than to wholesale price decreases.

The Study on the Quality of Pre-Processed Vegetables in School and Institutional Food-Service (단체급식에서 사용되는 전처리 농산물의 품질 특성 분석)

  • This study was performed to investigate the quality of pre-processed vegetables used in school and institutional food-services. Pre-processed food materials (carrot, potato, and cabbage) frequently used in food-service were collected from 14 various processing company sources. The sensory and physico-chemical qualities of the pre-processed food materials were determined using sensory and instrumental analysis. For the physico-chemical analysis of the food materials, pH, total acidity, hardness, Hunter colorimeter value, reducing sugar and vitamin C content were determined. For the sensory quality evaluation, 15 panelist were trained and consensus was reached on the quality standards of the preprocessed materials (carrot, potato, and cabbage). Finally, appearance, color, texture, off-odor/taste, and overall quality were determined. In the physico-chemical analysis, there were no significant differences among samples collected from various processing companies. In sensory quality evaluations, the color quality of pre-processed potato was lower than that of other materials. From the coefficient correlations and partial least squares regression analysis between sensory and instrumental data, pH, total acidity, colorimeter values, and hardness were considered important components in assessing the quality of pre-processed vegetables.

Sex Identification of Bovine Meat Using Male Specific SRY and ZFY Genes (웅성 특이적 SRY 및 ZFY 유전자를 이용한 쇠고기 성(性) 판별)

  • The objective of this study was to develop a rapid and reliable method for the sex determination of beef using the PCR(polymerase chain reaction) technique. We have used two bovine sex determining genes, SRY and ZFY, on the Y-chromosome to identify the sex of Hanwoo and Holstein beet. We attempted to amplify 1,348 bp and 979 bp fragments from male and female genomic DNA corresponding to the SRY and ZFY genes, respectively, using male specific primers. The amplified PCR products were separated by electrophoresis in a 1.5% agarose gel to detect a male specific DNA band. When DNA from male beef was amplified with primers specific for the SRY gene, a DNA band of 1,348 bp was present in all of the male samples, but absent from all of the female samples. Also, when DNA from male beef was amplified with primers specific for the ZFY gene, a DNA band of 979 bp was observed in all of the male samples, but absent from all female samples. In conclusion, the bovine SRY and ZFY genes are typically found only in male beef. For the practical application of this method for the sexing of commercial beef at the processing and marketing stages after slaughter. a total of 350 beef samples collected randomly from local markets were analyzed for sex determination. The proportions of male and female samples were 252 (72%) and 98 (28%), respectively. Therefore. the SRY and ZFY genes. which are specific for the Y-chromosome, may be useful sex-diagnostic DNA markers to distinguish male meat from female meat.

Quality Evaluation of Fresh-Cut Products in the Market (시중 판매중인 Fresh-Cut 채소 제품의 품질평가)

  • Most fresh-cut agri-food products are less stable than unprocessed materials from which they are made. The objective of this study was the development of a quality control system for fresh-cut agri-food products. In this study, vitamin C, minerals, residual heavy metals, and pesticides of various fresh-cut agri-food products were analysed. Sensory evaluation revealed that overall acceptability scores were less than expected in most products since fresh-cut products are likely to cause browning and easily lose their freshness. Therefore, the postharvest technologies that can maintain the quality, freshness and appearance must be supplied. Although vitamin C and minerals are main nutrients that can be supplied from salads, the results showed that vitamin C and mineral contents were very small and extremely small compared with the values from the food composition tables. It is possible that vitamin C and most minerals that are easily destroyed were lost through minimal processes like peeling and cutting. In safety side, the remaining heavy metal contents of fresh-cut agri-food were investigated and the results showed that copper and lead existed in some products because only cadmium in agricultural produce is controlled by the minimum standard of heavy metal contents in Korea. No residual pesticides were detected in all products.
