The Effects of Apparel Product Presentation on Consumer Responses in U.S. Online Retailing (의류 상품 전시와 상품에 대한 관여도가 미국 온라인 소비자에 미치는 영향)

  • This study examined the effect of product presentation on consumers' affective/cognitive states and purchase intention. The design of the study was a one factor(product presentation: garment presented flat vs. garment presented on models without faces vs. garment presented on models with faces) between-subject design with a moderator (involvement: high vs. low). A sample of 429 female college students participated in this online experiment. The results show the effectiveness of using a realistic human model on apparel websites. Also, consumers who are highly involved with clothing generally exhibit more positive responses than those who are less involved. Overall, these findings provide empirical support for the Stimulus-Organism-Response model and the Elaboration Likelihood Model, and contribute useful knowledge regarding website design for online apparel retailers.

Moderating Effect of Customer Involvement on the relationship of Live-commerce quality and intention to purchase (라이브커머스 품질특성과 구매의도와의 관계: 고객 관여도의 조절효과)

  • This study aims to explore the effect of quality factors and customer involvement on users' intention to purchase in the live-commerce context. For this purpose, statistical methods such as reliability test, factor analysis, ANOVA, regression analysis were carried out using the survey data from live-commerce users. The quality factors of live-commerce were classified into contents, system, service, and show host characteristics, and customer involvement was analyzed by dividing it into product involvement and service involvement. The results showed that each quality factor of live-commerce had a significant positive effect on the intention to purchase. On the other hand, customer product involvement had a significant moderating effect on content and system quality, service involvement had a significant moderating effect on service and show host characteristics. The degree of each quality factor on intention to purchase was higher as customer involvement was higher. Theoretical and practical implications were drawn from these findings.

Consumer's Consciousness of the LOHAS Consumption and the Consumption Behavior of the LOHAS Products (소비자의 로하스 소비의식과 로하스 상품소비행동)

  • This paper explored consumers' LoHAS purchasing behavior and factors influencing the behavior, including' self-construal, and LoHAS values, attitudes and behavior. First, this study investigated how self-construal affected LoHAS values, and then analyzed how LoHAS values influenced LoHAS attitude and behavior. Last, this study is to examine how the relationships among LoHAS values, LoHAS attitude and behavior are moderated by consumers' gender. We administerd a survey with undergraduates attending a university located in the metropolitan area. The analysis results indicate that interdependent self-construal affects LoHAS values. According to the analysis, both environmentalism and sustainability of LoHAS values also affect LoHAS attitude, and then the attitude influences LoHAS behavior. In addition, the results show that the relationships among LoHAS values, LoHAS attitude and behavior are not moderated by consumers' gender. This study shows the casual relationship between variables including self-construal, LoHAS values, attitude and behavior. In particular, this finding confirms that self-construal as one of psychological factors affects LoHAS consumers' values and behavior. Finally, based in the findings of this study, theoretical contribution and managerial implications are discussed.

  • With the expansion of EC and the development of culture industry, Web-site shopping of cultural products have become recognized as one of the major purchasing channels for customers, as well as one of the competitive distribution channels for film distributors or theater group. The research is to investigate the impact of information quality and user interface quality on information service satisfaction and online purchasing intention of cultural products. The results of this study are as follows: 1) Both information quality and interface quality have meaningful influence on information service satisfaction and purchase intention. 2) Information service satisfaction gives significant impact on online purchasing intention irrespective of the level of customer involvement. 3) Information quality has a meaningful influence on online purchasing intention in case of high level of customer involvement, while interface quality gives strong impact on online purchasing intention in case of low level of consumer involvement. In conclusion, there is a need to consider the level of customer involvement for building a successful marketing strategy of online purchase sites of cultural products.

  • This paper has analyzed the factors and purchasing places affecting the purchasing caned coffee which is classified into low involvement goods. As the result of research, it was discovered that affected factor has arisen out of distribution or recognition other than satisfaction of goods. Consumers who have low satisfaction level switch but this occasion happen at a much lesser rate than expected and on the contrary, even customers who were lesser satisfied expressed that they would buy the same brand again. Although this paper demonstrates the importance of the distribution and recognition factors (publicity), among other marketing mixes, that play a greater role than the product when purchasing the product, it has not taken the effects of promotion into consideration. In the future, the consequences of promotions should be explored and simultaneously look into how each of the factors influence direct sales and weigh how much impact each factor has.

  • The Changes in management environment in SMEs such as rapid development of information communication technology, worldwide expansion of FTAs, enlargement of global outsourcing, etc have changed various aspects in industry-academy or industry-academy-government cooperation. It has been away from the cooperation focused on research and development and industrial training, and advanced to the cooperation focused on the business fields and practices where the executive ability and professionalism are required to commercialize major products of local SMEs. Compared with the existing model, the new model of industry-academy-government cooperation can provide effective and customized supports to local SMEs and expect better performance than ever before through the choice and focus. However, the existing support programs of government and related organizations are just top-down pattern to SMEs. In addition to the development of industrial technology, education and training for labor force and knowledge interchange between industry and university, the new cooperation model would also provide practical tasks such as enhancement of business competences and abilities to cultivate foreign markets. This study deals with Gyeongbuk PRIDE Products support project that is the new model of industry-academy-government cooperation and evaluates the effectiveness of this support project by empirically analyzing the survey results from the target SMEs.

Impact of Information Contents on Information Service Satisfaction and Purchasing Intention at Online Purchase Sites of Movie Merchandise (온라인 구매사이트의 정보콘텐츠가 정보서비스만족도 및 구매의도에 미치는 영향: 영화상품을 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is to clarify the impact of information contents at online purchase sites of movie merchandise. The results of this study are as follows: 1) Movie-understanding information(synopsis, actors, reviews) has a meaningful influence on information service satisfaction irrespective of consumer involvement; 2) Movie-understanding and movie-going information(time, place, price, purchasing method) are alike in having a meaningful influence on online purchasing intention. However, movie-going information has a meaningful influence in case of lower consumer involvement, while movie-understanding information has a meaningful influence in case of higher consumer involvement.; 3) Information service satisfaction gives a strong influence on online purchasing intention irrespective of the level of consumer involvement. In conclusion, there is a need to improve diversity and quality of movie-understanding information to enhance consumer satisfaction. Also, it will be necessary to improve movie-understanding and movie-going information in order to enhance online purchasing intention. These results are expected to give an insight to build a creative marketing strategy of online purchase sites of movie merchandise.

Consumer Behavior in Achieving the Goals of ESG Banking Products: Focusing on environmental awareness and saving behavior (ESG 금융상품의 목표 달성에 미치는 소비자 행동에 관한 탐색적 연구 -환경인식과 저축행동을 중심으로-)

  • ESG has become a necessity for all companies, and major Korean banks are actively practicing ESG management. Banks are playing a role in providing ESG finance as intermediaries in the supply of funds. Recently, they have launched ESG digital banking products that offer preferential interest rates for eco-friendly activities in combination with digital technologies. However, indiscriminate provision of preferential interest rates can adversely affect profitability of banks, and they may face the problem of 'Greenwashing' if they do not contribute to improving environmental awareness. Therefore, this study selected ESG digital savings products linked to electricity savings as the subject of the study, and empirically analyzed consumers' environmental awareness and savings behavior through actual data of consumers (N=2,478). The main findings of this study are as follows First, the analysis of the consumer status of ESG digital banking products shows that the 30-50s are the main consumer base, and the MZ generation shows relatively high performance in achieving preferential interest rates through electricity saving practices. Second, consumers' environmental awareness has a significant impact on achieving the goals of ESG banking products. ESG banking products can contribute to environmental awareness while fulfilling the basic function of saving. Third, environmental awareness did not drive consumers' savings contribution behavior, suggesting the need for continued consumer engagement. Based on environmental awareness and the theory of saving behavior, this study provides a theoretical explanation in ESG financial products. The results suggest that the appropriateness of the preferential interest rate design of ESG financial products is important.

  • The purpose of this study is to identify factors affecting the purchase of Fair Trade products and to segment consumer which were typed according to the fair trade consumption competency, attitude and ethical consciousness of the University students. As a result, there are 4 type consumers, general type, indifferent type, individualism type, and fair trade practice type. Factors that directly affect the purchase experience of Fair Trade products are knowledge, willingness and interest in fair trade. In the end, education should be provided through fair education and ethical consumption through systematic education, and outside of school, social effort should be accompanied by the media and various contents to enable college students to promote their knowledge and interest in fair trade. In order to activate the fair trade market, it will be necessary to improve the quality to secure the market value as a commodity and to increase the price acceptance of the consumer.
