  • High quality-oriented consumers, new rationalism and concept-oriented consumption followed by high sensitivity fashion market are embossing the importance of fashion M.D. This study has a purpose to make practical and general approach to consumers' taste, trend receptivity, the propensity to consume, and how they are practically connected with market strategy. As a results of this study, First niche market, targeting a new consumer group, is embossed as consumers have new fashion lifestyle. Second, we need a strategy to fractionize fashion by developing concepts suitable for consumers' each scene, not by following radical trends for mature consumers. Third, to satisfy consumers' propensity to originally, we need to establish the identity of Korean original goods which can compete with world-famous brands.

Information Components of Social Commerce Websites -Focusing on Product, Price, Service, and Seller Information- (소셜커머스 웹사이트의 정보구성요소 -상품, 가격, 서비스, 판매원 정보를 중심으로-)

  • The purpose of the study was to divide social commerce websites' information into components of product, price, service, and seller information, and to systematically analyze each component of information. A content analysis was used as a research methodology, and 100 webpages from social commerce websites were analyzed. As results, the social commerce websites provided basic information (front view, fabric contents, country of origin, care, color, size) for product information and emphasized price information, including discount rates, sales dues, product quantity, and the amount of products sold. They basically provided expected delivery date, delivery company, Q&A, and return/refund service for service information. In addition, they basically presented brand logo and brand name but need to add information about brand concepts, history and volume as seller information. This study suggested diverse theoretical and practical implications of social commerce information.

  • In the present society where aesthetic designs would have product value, designs must be the ones that add flexible sensation as well as the energy of counteraction which escapes from and destroys existing concept. The 'creative expression' to reach such design objectives is one of the most important abilities which designers must possess and is an overall concept in problem solving of designing which participates in formative approach or image development as well as product concepts such as function or performance . In this research, the definition of creativity, environmental change of designing, conditions designers must possess followed by these things and creative design expressions researched in the past, etc are examined and by presenting design method for creative designing concept targeting mobile phones, it will attempt to contribute in the importance of creativity and improve creative value of designers.

  • This paper presents plans to develop cultural archetype into a cultural industry. Though, various types of cultural products are being developed, they're not very popular to consumers and has very limited market. Reason for that is, most of these products are simple replicas of cultural assets or they are focused solely on restoring the traditions without considering trend. This study was focused on patterns found on the relics from mausoleum of king Mooryung of Baek-je. Main focus was the meaning of important patterns as generalized representation of traditional and emotional value. In addition, the study was done with the idea that developing the design of cultural products should be presented in modern style while carrying the traditional value and the story telling elements. The order of developing the design should be, first, forming process based on its original form and the elements, and developing a design motive based on the story the pattern is carrying. Then develop sample products with the motive.

  • Minor enterprises can successfully build up their market share plans in a relatively shorter time than compared with major enterprises, which require long time for design developments in their big organization. Therefore, there are some items that are more suitable to the minor enterprises. For example, computer desk may be the one. It must be one of the strategically suitable items of minor enterprises rather than of large enterprises because of their own easy production policies. This paper is based on a research report that I submitted to Gyongsan-Si, Gyongbuk-Do which supported a small company for a special purpose of its provincial economic policy. I took part in the research and suggested five types of characteristic concepts and the ideas. And as a result. the type war accepted as the most appropriate one of them to produce. And the acception was based on the following five factors; consumer's need, productivity, proper price, energy saving, and user' easiness.

An Aesthetic Review on the Traditional Active Sports Wear Design - Focusing on Korean Wrestling Uniform- (전통 국기복 디자인에 관한 미학적 고찰 -씨름복을 중심으로-)

  • Focusing on costume research to set image of Korean wrestling that has potential power as a traditional and cultural item, the purpose of this research is to systemize Korean wrestling uniform and offer suggestions regarding visualization, and to carry out basic ground research to develop Korean wrestling uniform design. For the basic part, I compared world wrestling and Korean wrestling in an effort to learn more about the history of wrestling uniform along with its transitional changes. And for the practical part, I studied the criterion of the current wresting and its uniform, and classified the aesthetic points of Korean wresting uniform into four categories in the view point of design ground research: tradition and uniqueness, usability and compatibility, symbolism and ornamentation, variety and unification. It is concluded that the most important part in designing Korean wrestling uniform lie in how to consistently visualize it based on the above mentioned aesthetic points. As the theoretical research on aesthetic parts of Korean wrestling uniform, this research finds its meaning in suggesting guideline for design concept and development while planning traditional and cultural costume design which will be materialized in the follow-up research.

Research on Planning and Design of Smart Fitness Wear for Personal Training Improvement (퍼스널 트레이닝 효과 향상을 위한 스마트 피트니스웨어의 상품기획 및 디자인 방향 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to propose a product planning and design direction for smart fitness wear that will improve the impact of personal training based on researching the requirements of smart fitness wear and its acceptance level, as well as the functional demand. The study conducted in-depth interviews with professional fitness trainers and derived five categories and thirteen keywords by analyzing the categorical data analysis using the interview data. In addition, we surveyed general consumers to measure the acceptance level of smart fitness wear and the functional demand for product development. The results revealed that the difference in the acceptance level of smart fitness wear generally depended on the characteristics related to exercise involvement and exercise-related culture rather than on the demographic characteristics. With regard to the difference in the functional demand of smart fitness wear, the results showed that professional trainers focused on the scientific improvement of the effect of exercise while general consumers focused on the function that considers the sustainability of exercise. Based on the results, we proposed product planning and design directions such as 'mounting of heart rate sensing, muscle activity sensing, motion angle or posture sensing, and motion sensing', 'development of concepts and contents for expert line, ordinary line', 'compression wear design', and 'differentiation of product development according to exercise areas'.

Development of Textile Design for Fashion Cultural Products - Focusing on Traditional Korean Patterns - (패션문화상품을 위한 텍스타일 디자인 개발 - 한국전통문양을 중심으로 -)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the symbolism of traditional Korean patterns which reflect an emotional cultural background of Korean people, to apply modernized and developed patterns to Textile Design for fashion cultural products, and to explore productive direction of developing designs of fashion cultural products. The process of developing Textile Design of fashion cultural products which applied symbolism of traditional Korean patterns was conducted as follows. Firstly, based on '05 S/S-'07 S/S fashion trends, a design concept wat decided(man-urban ethnic style, woman-romantic ethnic style). Secondly, motive was abstracted from selected traditional patterns to develop into modem patterns. Thirdly, items were selected according to symbolic meaning of traditional Korean patterns. Man's items included shirts, necktie, and handkerchief which were highly preferred by Korean and foreign visitors. Finally, developed textile designs were diagrammed by item using textile CAD and an illustrator 10 and presented as images. The following results were obtained. First, textile designs for fashion cultural products, in which apply traditional patterns may reflect the understanding of traditional aesthetic beauty and philosophical approach by applying symbolic significance inherent in patterns as well as the aesthetics of the patterns. Second, traditional patterns have been recognized as old fashioned to consumers because they have been often used for traditional handicrafts or folk products. If their unique shapes are changed or simplified, emphasizing images, and trend styles and colors are used, they will be recreated as a modem design. Third, textile designs using traditional patterns may provide various images and visual effects according to techniques and production methods. Then, the method will be applied to many items. Finally, since traditional patterns in fashion cultural products can be used as our unique design elements, they can be utilized as the source of design inspiration for the development of value-added products.

A Study on Comparative Amount of Idea Thinking between Brainstorming and Webstorming (브레인스토밍과 WebStorming의 아이디어 발상량(發想量) 비교 연구)

  • To develop a creative design concept, amount of idea thinking between team members is important. In the process of planning to proposal brainstorming helps clarification of problems and allows a creative solution. Here, idea generation is to express thinking into words, and greater amount of idea is more valued than to choose one fine idea at first. This paper studies actual processes of brainstorming, and we utilize network services upgraded in Web and multimedia techniques to develop idea with arrangement. We compare the amount of idea generation by groups and topics with Brainwriting and Braindrawing of Webstorming, without limitation of space and time. Then, we propose a creative idea thinking by analyzing the characteristics of design team members in various aspects. This result will contribute in improving national potential value and design competitiveness by the help of design and IT, on product research and marketing.
