The present study was conducted to analyze the vegetational difference in fellowed fields at the different seral stages. Plant species were surveyed on the fields having different cropping history, soil moisture conditions, and the duration of set-aside. Effects of soil moisture condition and fellowing duration on the vegetational profiles of fellowed fields in the course of different seral stages. In the fields fellowed for more than three years, a conspicuous feature of vegetation was the dominance of perennial species, which was less dominant in the fields fellowed for less than 3 years. The floristic composition of fellowed fields was dependent on the soil moisture condition. However, the influence of fallow-history on vegetational composition was less than that of the soil moisture conditions. The dominant species occurred in fellowed upland (dry) fields were changed from Glycine soja, Persicaria thunbergiana, and Artemisia princeps at 2-year-fellowed to Persicaria thunbergiana, Miscanthus sinensis, and Glycine soja at 6-year-fellowed. In wet fellowed paddy fields, annual Mosla punctulata, Ambrosia artemisiifolia, and Setaria viridis, the dominant species at 3-year-fellowed, were substituted by perennial Miscanthus sinensis, Aster pilosus, and Hemarthria sibirica at 7-year-fellowed. When the succession continued for 11 years in wet fields, the vegetation was characterized by the domination of perennials such as Phragmites communis, Zizania latifolia, and Typha orientalis. It was suggested that the soil moisture condition was a strong determinant of the dominant species on early seral conditions. In the fellowed paddy fields, the species diversity was relatively higher in the fields set-asided as wet condition compared to the fields fellowed as dry condition.
The successional status and potential natural vegetation were examined in a mixed broadleaved-Abies forest located at Mt, Odae National Park. The examination was based on the subsequent process of generation replacement by understory saplings for the dominant canopy trees within 88 $5m{\times}50m$ belt transects. The transition matrix model, which was modified from mathematical theory of Markov chain, was employed to analyze the successional status of the study forest. The model suggests that the study forest is still seral, and it is considered to be more than 700 years away from the steady state or climax in terms of species composition. The simulations predict a remarkable decrease in the proportion of species composition of the present dominant Quercus mongolica and Tilia amurensi.s from current 28% and 13% to less than 3% and 5%, respectively, at the steady state. On the contrary, the proportions of Abies holophylla, Acer pseudo-sieboldianum, Carpinus cordata, and Pinus koraiensis will increase at the steady state. The ratio of mixture between deciduous and coniferous trees will be gradually changed from current 6.5 : 3.5 to 5.0 : 5.0 at equilibrium. Discussion for the problems of Quercus mongolica in successional status noted that the species behaved as a mid-successional dominant, not a climax species in the study forest. The hypothesis and sensitivity of the transition matrix model were also discussed to evaluate the applicability to the real situation. The overall results indicated that the present dynamics of the forest must reflect the seral state due to previous disturbance mainly by hyman related interference.

In this paper, we describe a system that can interact with agents in the virtual space incorporated in the system. This system is constructed by an analysis system for analyzing human gesture and an interact system for interacting with agents in the virtual space using analyzed information. An implemented analysis system for analyzing gesture extracts a head and hands region after taking image sequence of an operator's continuous behavior using CCD cameras. In interact system, we construct the virtual space that exist an avatar which incarnating operator himself, an autonomous object (like a Puppy), and non-autonomous objects which are table, door, window and object. Recognized gesture is transmitted to the avatar in the virtual space, then transit to next state based on state transition diagram. State transition diagram is represented in a graph in which each state represented as node and connect with link. In the virtual space, the agent link an avatar can open and close a window and a door, grab or move an object like a ball, order a puppy to do and respond to the Puppy's behavior as does the puppy.

Recently with the high expectation of voice over WLAN service, to supped fast inter-AP security transition in WLAN AP is one of the most actively investigating issues. It is also very important to minimize inter-AP security transition latency, while maintaining constantly the secure association from old AP when a station transits to new AP. Hence, this paper first defines secure transition latency as a primary performance metric of AP system in WLAN supporting IEEE802.11i, 802.1x, and 802.11f, and then presents low latency inter-AP security transition mechanism and its security FSM whose objective is to minimize inter-AP transition latency. Experiment shows that the proposed scheme outperforms the legacy 802.1X AP up to $79\%$ with regard to the transition latency.

DFSM(Deterministic Finite State Machine) is used because it easily represents the control flow of a protocol in the protocol specification. Real protocols contain problem of nondeterminisms that have more than one enabled transition in the same state by same input. But DFSM does not process nondeterminism. So, in this paper, we first specify a protocol with NFSM (Nonderministic FSM) that may show the characteristics of nondeterminism, and propose an algorithm which converts NFSM to DFSM.

Fault tolerant corrective control for asynchronous sequential machines (ASMs) with transient faults is discussed in this paper. The considered ASM is vulnerable to a kind of faults whose manifestation may arise during transient transitions of the ASM, leading to transient faults occurring in non-fundamental mode. To overcome adverse effects caused by these faults, we present a novel corrective control scheme that can detect and tolerate transient faults in non-fundamental mode. The existence condition and design algorithm for an appropriate fault tolerant controller is addressed in the framework of corrective control theory. The applicability of the proposed control methodology is demonstrated in the FPGA experiment.
Rate constants for the reaction of methyl chloroformate with substituted anilines, and for the halogen exchanges in phenyl chloroformate have been determined in acetone. Although the rate data can be interpreted equally well with the addition-elimination mechanism($S_AN$) involving an intermediate, results of MO and isotope effect studies strongly favor the synchronous ($S_N2$) mechanism for the reactions studied. It was concluded that for the fast reacting nucleophiles the transition state is of "late" type while for the slow reacting nucleophiles it is of "early" type.
To simulate the characteristics of magnetic exchange coupling at the interface of MR/TbCo thin films, the directions of magnetizations were calculated by minimizing energy in the films. Newton method and Gauss-Seidel method were used. The width of M-H curve increased with TbCo anisotropy constant, and with the thickness of the transition region of TbCo layer. Hysteresis loop width became extremely narrow (less than 10 Oe of coercivity), when the TbCo transition region length was $400\;\AA$. Also the hysteresis loop of films with low interfacial exchange coupling constant was similiar to that of short transition region length. When interfacial exchange coupling constant was 1/100 of perfect coupling, hysteresis loop showed a coercivity of less than 10 Oe. Comparing the measured hysteresis loop of a fabricated sample with that of simulated one, exchange coupling con¬stant could be estimated.
