Thermal Stress Analysis of Drums Brakes by Finite Element Method (유한요소법에 의한 드럼 브레이크의 열응력 해석)

  • In the case of axisymmetric thermal analysis of drum brakes, the distribution of frictional heat produced on the interface and temperature difference between mating frictional faces are very interesting problems to computational researchers. In this paper, heat conduction from the interface to the pad and the drum was modeled by using a thin interface element, so artificial division of the generated frictional heat between pad and drum is not necessary. Temperature difference between mating frictional faces is successfully modeled by using the interface element. The influence of some parameters on tile thermal stress was checked. The analysis was performed by ABAQUS/Standard code.

  • In the case of axisymmetric thermal analysis of drum brakes, the distribution of frictional heat produced on the interface and temperature difference between mating frictional faces are very interesting problems to computational researchers. In the first part, the influence of the s-cam load angles and elastic modulus of the pad on the contact pressure distribution between pad and drum was checked by a three dimensional model. In the second part heat conduction from the interface to the pad and the drum was modeled by using a thin interface element, so artificial division of the generated frictional heat between pad and drum is not necessary. Temperature difference between mating frictional faces is successfully modeled by using the interface element. The influence of some parameters on the thermal distribution is checked. The analysis was performed by ABAQUS/Standard code.

  • A study to get better vehicle fuel economy is described based on an express bus. The approach is based on using a commercial software vehicle simulation to identify the relative efficiency of each of the vehicle systems, such as the engine hardware, engine software calibration, transmission, cooling system and ancillary drives. The simulation-based approach offers a detailed understanding of which vehicle systems are underperforming and by how much the vehicle fuel economy can be improved if those systems are brought up to best-in-class performance. In this way, the optimum vehicle fuel economy can be provided to the vehicle customer. A further benefit is that the simulation requires only a minimum of vehicle testing for initial validation, with all subsequent field test cycles performed in software, thereby reducing development time and cost for the manufacturer.

  • This paper presents a new full-bridge soft switching PWM DC-DC converter circuit topology that adding one switcher, one lossless snubber quasi-resonance capacity to power source for general welding machine This full-bridge soft switching DC-DC convoter· topology can applicable 600[V] switching device (IGBT)incase of AC 400[V] common power source because the voltage of active switcher is 1/2 of DC bus line voltage. And low voltage hight current out)ut that first coil current is smaller than second coil current in high frequency transformer can be obtained with decreasing path loss in conventional DC bus line switcher. As it operate ZCS/ZVS in full range, high frequency, high efficiency and high output are implemented at low voltage and high DC current switching power supplies. All of this items are got from simulation and the result of experiment. If make up for the weak points of this proposed circuit, it will be used more easily for next generation TIG, MIG and MAG type of arc-welding machine.

  • This paper deals with CBS(Cycle Base Simulator) design of a 32 bit floating point DSP(Digital Signal Processor). The CBS has been developed for TMS320C30 compatible DSP and will be used to confirm the architecture, functions of sub-blocks, and control signals of the chip before the detailed logic design starts with VHDL. The outputs from CBS are used as important references at gate level design step because they give us control signals, output values of important blocks, values from internal buses and registers at each pipeline step, which are not available from the commercial simulator of DSP. In addition to core functions, it has various interfaces for efficient execution and convenient result display, CBS is verified through comparison with results from the commercial simulator for many application algorithms and its simulation speed is as fast as several tenth of that of logic simulation with VHDL. CBS in this work is for a specific DSP, but the concept may be applicable to other VLSI design.

  • 현재의 세계 자동차 시장은 석유 자원의 고갈과 전자화로 높은 연비의 기술적 성숙을 요구하고 있으며, 이는 미래 자동차 기술의 전동화를 가속시키고 있음에 따라 종래 엔진부하로 사용되는 시스템 및 유압시스템의 전동화 기술추이가 지속적으로 증가하고 있다. 이중 엔진 부하 메커니즘의 하나인 엔진 쿨링 팬 분야는 소비용량이 크고, 고 연비증감 기술증진의 전동화에 따른 차량 성능개선의 효과가 높아 실용 전동화 용의성에 의해 새로운 최우선 차량 전동부하로 나타나고 있다. 특히, 대형 차량(버스, 트럭)의 엔진 Cooling Fan 시스템은 차량 연비저감의 주요원 중에 하나로 대두되고 있으며, 도시 소음의 주된 요인이 되고 있어 전동화 기술개발의 필요성이 매우 높다. 전동 Cooling Fan 시스템은 종래 엔진 구동형 시스템에 비하여 엔진부하를 감소시킬 수 있고, 차량 연비향상 및 유해배출 가스를 저감시킴으로 기술적, 환경적 개발효과가 매우 높다. 본 연구에서는 쿨링팬 고출력 BLDC모터 설계제작에 관한 내용과, 최적 팬 블레이드 설계제작, 마지막으로 개발 전동 쿨링팬 성능평가에 관한 내용이 포함되어 있다.

Input Current Shaping in $S^4-PFC$ Converter with Auxiliary Switch ($S^4-PFC$ 에서 보조회로를 이용한 입력 전류 파형의 개선)

  • In this paper, We present a low cost auxiliary circuit of $S^4-PFC$converter with the feedback winding, which can improve the input current waveform with the maintenance of limited DC Bus Voltage and high efficiency. The converter with feedback winding was analyzed to demonstrate the proposed converter. Int order to verify the performance of the proposed converter, we designed the converter which operates at the output of 5[V], 65[W] and switching frequency of 100[kHz] within the universal line voltage. Implemented converter has decreased line current peak value by 50[%] compared with the conventional converters and the power utilization was increased in the line period.

  • In this paper, we propose a novel reconfigurable coprocessor for multimedia mobile terminals. Because most of multimedia operations require fast operations of large amount of data in the limited clock frequency, it is necessary to enhance the performance of the embedded processor that is widely used in current multimedia mobile terminals. Therefore, we proposed and have designed the coprocessor which had the ability of fast operations of multimedia data. The proposed coprocessor was not only reconfigurable, but also flexible and expandable. The proposed coprocessor has been designed by using VHDL and compared with previous reconfigurable coprocessors and a commercial embedded processor in architecture and speed. As a result of the architectural comparison, the proposed coprocessor had better structure in terms of hardware size and flexibility. Also, the simulation results of DCT application showed that the proposed coprocessor was 26 times faster than a commercial ARM processor and 11 times faster than the ARM processor with fast DCT core.

  • In this paper, we introduce the technology to convert a single human image into a fashion show animation video clip. The technology can help the customers confirm the dynamic fitting result when combined with the virtual try on technique as well as the interesting experience to a normal person of being a fashion model. We developed an extended technique of full human 2D to 3D inverse modeling based on SMPLify human body inverse modeling technique, and a rigged model animation method. The 3D shape deformation of the full human from the body model was performed by 2 part deformation in the image domain and reconstruction using the estimated depth information. The quality of resultant animation videos are made to be publically available for evaluation. We consider it is a promising approach for commercial application when supplemented with the post - processing technology such as image segmentation technique, mapping technique and restoration technique of obscured area.

Power Conversion System for Electric Power Take-off of Agricultural Electric Vehicle (농업용 전기차량의 전기식 동력인출장치용 전력변환시스템)

  • In this paper, we propose the development of a power conversion system for electric power take-off (e-PTO) of agricultural electric vehicles. Most e-PTOs use commercial power $220V_{AC}$. A bidirectional power conversion system having a two-stage structure consisting of a DC-DC converter and a DC-AC inverter for supplying a high output voltage using a low battery voltage of an agricultural electric vehicle is suitable. we propose a power conversion system consisting of the one-stage dual active bridge (DAB) converter and the two-stage bidirectional full bridge inverter. In addition, we propose a soft start algorithm for reducing the inrush current generated by the link capacitor charging during the initial operation. A 3kW prototype system and its corresponding algorithms have been implemented to verify its effectiveness through experiments.
