A Study on Proper Minimum Navigation Speed Control in the Korean Ports (우리나라 항만에서의 항행 최저속력 규제에 관한 연구)

  • Navigation speed control is an important factor to improve the traffic safety, it is only researched about maximum speed control until now. Recently, there are lots of the low speed vessels including towing boats, carry heavy shipbuilding blocks in the Korean waters, so the danger degree of navigating vessels was increasing more and more. This paper analysed the effectiveness of minimum speed control with the operation burden's decrease, and it proposed the proper the minimum navigation speed of each traffic volume. Main results of this research are as follows. (1) in the case of 5 ships/hour, minimum speed control is effective if the lowest speed is fixed more than 5kts. (2) in the case of more than 10 ships/hour, speed control is some effective if the lowest speed is established 7kts. (3) But, when there are many ships in the waters, minimum speed control is not effective because distances between ships become near and ships navigate for a long time by a lot of ship having a few difference of relative speed.

  • In this paper, we have studied the ship collision avoidance support on the basis of 'Ship Collision Avoidance Model considered a Speed' for the purpose of the decrease of the human error, caused ship collisions, at sea and the effective support of avoiding ship collisions. The program has been reflected the speed of a target ship, had not been considered in a preceding study. Besides, the program will effectively support a maneuver for a collision avoidance, through the display of a feasible area and the method of a collision avoidance using the own ship's turning characteristic about the action of target ship's course and velocity.

  • From a point of view of suggesting the method to avoid ship's collision, the speed of ships has to be considered sufficiently according to encounter angle of ships. But the new safe-guard ring of ship's collision avoidance support model in the close quarters is established assuming that the ratio of own ship' speed to a target ship's speed is less than about 1.7. Therefore in this paper, as doing a study concerned with the establishment of safe-guard ring reflected the encounter angle and the speed of ships, we will propose the new model of ship collision avoidance for safe maneuver of ship's collision avoidance.

But with respect to the establishment of Safe-Guard Ring of Ship Collision Avoidance Support Model in Close Quarters Situation that had been newly studied to avoid ship's collision, the ratio of own ship' speed to a target ship's speed was limited to about less than 1.7. Therefore in this paper, as doing a study concerned with the establishment of Safe-Guard Ring reflected the encounter angle and the speed of ships, we will propose the new model of ship collision avoidance for safe maneuver of ship's collision avoidance.

  • 목포항 진입수로 중 한곳인 불무기도 인근은 남북방향으로 통과 선박 및 목포항 입출항선박이 항행을 하고, 동서방향으로는 여객선 및 쾌속선이 항행을 하고 있다. 또한 이 구간에서 조업 및 항행중인 어선들이 많아 항행특성 파악이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 목포항 진입수역인 불무기도 부근에서 통항중인 선박들간의 CPA/TCPA를 분석하여 목포구 진입수로 항행특성 파악하여 통항선박의 위험도를 평가 하고자 한다.

Accuracy Analysis of baseline determination using Broadcast ephemeris and Precise ephemeris in GPS surveying (방송력과 정밀력의 사용에 의한 GPS 측량의 정확도 분석)

  • The orbit ephemeris of Global Positioning System(GPS) is one element to determine the surveying accuracy and there are broadcasting ephemeris and precise ephemeris, IGS rapid orbit and IGS ultra rapid orbit in the orbit ephemeris of GPS. In this study, test area was selected in Uljin, Kyungsanbukdo and GPS surveying was accomplished at 37 points in the test area. Then baseline solution was done on 74 baseline using broadcasting ephemeris and precise ephemeris and analysis by TGO and the results were compared. Comparison results were showed that there were nearly no difference between the two results but in case of relative precision of the baseline, it was slightly better the baseline results of precise ephemeris which showed 0.706ppm than the baseline results of broadcasting ephemeris which showed 0.708ppm.

  • This paper presents an algorithm which seeks steady-state equilibrium positions of constrained multibody systems driven by constant generalized speeds. Since the relative coordinates are employed, the constraint equations at cut joints are incorporated into the formulation. The proposed algorithm leads to nonlinear equations that need to be solved iteratively. This algorithm should satisfy both types of conditions: the force equilibrium equations and the kinematic constraint equations. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm, two numerical examples are solved and the results are compared with those of a commercial program. This method, compared to the conventional method of using dynamic analysis, has the advantage of computational efficiency and stability.

  • VTSO(Vessel Traffic Service Operator)는 양 선박의 충돌위험 정도를 판단할 때, 선박들의 침로와 속력, DCPA(Distance to CPA)와 TCPA(Time to CPA) 그리고 양 선박의 조우상황 등을 종합적으로 고려한다. 이에 본 연구에서는 VTS관점에서 선박충돌 위험도를 구하기 위하여 CPA에서의 양 선박 상대방위에 따른 조우상황 위험도와 선박의 길이를 고려한 양 선박의 범퍼영역에 대한 근접 위험도를 이용하여 두 선박의 다양한 교차상황에 따른 선박 충돌위험 값을 비교하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 '지능형 해상교통정보 서비스'로 축적된 선박 위치데이터를 가공하여 선박의 조우상황 데이터를 추출하고 분석하였다. 선박의 위치, 침로, 속력을 통해 TCPA, DCPA와 선박간 거리를 계산함으로써 선박의 충돌위험 인지 후 회피 상황에서 보이는 데이터의 형태와 분포를 분석하였다. 추후 상대방위와 SOG가 TCPA 변화량에 미치는 영향에 대한 연구가 진행되면, 실제 사용자의 충돌위험 판단과 근접한 충돌위험도 분석 모델로 활용할 수 있을 것으로 보인다.

  • VTSO make a decision which one will be danger and what to expect ship's actions due to each encountering situation with CPA(Closest Point of Approach) and TCPA(Time to Closest Point of Approach) by monitoring ship's vectors(Course & Speeds) in real-time through the VTS system. This study is the fundamental research for developing algorithm and system that does not decide the collision risk in one's own ship's viewpoints, but it identifies the related ships into danger through the third party(VTS ) in real time.
