본고에서는 아인슈타인(1905) 특수상대성이론과 샤논(1948)의 정보이론의 탄생배경 중심으로 유도하였고, 이 아름다운 두 식을 비교, 설명하였다. 4G 무선 이동통신의 주파수 스펙트럼 효율을 증가시키기 위해, MIMO를 쓰고 샤논 캐퍼시티에 접근하기 위해 새로운 채널코딩 기술을 쓰고 있다. 모두 샤논의 손바닥 안에 있다.

This interdisciplinary study explores G$\ddot{o}$del's hermeneutics of the relationship between relativity theory and idealistic philosophy in terms of time. For G$\ddot{o}$del, Einstein's contribution to the physical realization of idealistic philosophy would be remarkable. We start with a historical background around G$\ddot{o}$del's paper for Einstein(1949a). From the perspective of G$\ddot{o}$del's cosmology, the second part addresses the relative nature of time, and the next then investigates the rotating model of universes. G$\ddot{o}$del's own results show that the temporal conditions of relativity and idealistic philosophy are satisfiable in the mathematical model of rotating universes. Thus, it could be asserted to travel into any region of the past, present or future, and back again.

지난해의 연장 속에서 환경문제와 함께 인간 복제문제, 상대성이론과 시간과 관련된 내용들, 노벨상과 관련된 대중서가 계속 소개될 것이다. 중요한 것은 외국서적을 단순히 번역할 뿐만 아니라 국내 저자가 저술한 책의 출간이 필요하다는 점이다.

This essay will consider evolutionary views that attempt to capture the continuity of theory-change from Newtonian to Einsteinian physics via the formal aspects of these theories. Although it cannot be denied that the formal aspects such as 'correspondence principles' and 'covariance principles' provide important information concerning this theory-change, these formal properties are not sufficient to capture the essential elements of any evolutionary account of the development of Einstein's special and general theories of relativity from Newtonian mechanics.

Light bending by gravity was the key prediction of general relativity. Solar eclipse expedition of 1919 provided the observational support for the theory of general relativity. Diverse gravitational lensing, i.e., light bending, phenomena have been speculated and predicted by general relativity and ultimately discovered many years later. Gravitationally lensed quasars, luminous arcs, weak lensing, and microlensing have provided invaluable information about the distribution of matter, especially of dark matter, and the cosmology. Gravitational lensing is one of the most spectacular manifestation of general relativity and will remain as an extremely useful astrophysical tools in the future.

원래 상상은 무한대이다. 현실가능한지 여부를 따지지 않는다면 말이다. 세상을 바꾸고 혁신을 가져온 사람들 중에는 엉뚱하고 기발한 상상을 잘하는 사람, 즉 몽상가 스타일이 많다. 세기의 천재라 일컫는 미켈란젤로, 발명왕 토머스 에디슨, 상대성 이론을 발견한 아인슈타인 등등. 또 얼마전 세상을 떠난 애플의 스티브잡스도 해당이 된다. 그가 최초로 만든 스마트폰도 불과 10년여 전만해도 한낱 몽상에 불과했다. 무한상상은 이런 점에서 가치가 크다. 세상을 뒤바꿀 지극히 창의적이고 생산적인 활동이다. 필자가 이런 이야기를 하는 이유는 지금부터 펼쳐질 황당한 글을 합리화하기 위해서다. 가상현실 사이버섹스자판기라니? 밥 먹고 쓸데없는 상상을 한다고? 어쨌든 상관없다. 난 필 (feel)이 꽂혔으니까. 막지마라. 나는 상상한다. 고로존재하니까.

1905년은 아인슈타인의 일생 가운데 가장 생산적인 해였다. 그는 그 해에 특수 상대론, 광전효과, 브라운 운동 및 E=mc² 등 네편의 주옥같은 논문을 발표했다. 한국물리학회와 과학문화진흥회는 이를 기념하기 위하여 2005년 7월 1일부터 2006년 2월말 까지 창경원 옆에 있는 서울 과학관에서 아인슈타인 100주년 기념 전시회를 갖는다. 전시회는 1)아인슈타인의 생애 2)시간과 공간 3)빛, 파동 및 물질 4)아인슈타인의 우주 5)아인슈타인과 예술 등 다섯 가지 주제를 체험위주로 기획하고 있다. 관람객들이 특수 상대론을 설명이 아니라 체험함으로써 일상생활에서는 어떻게 이용되고 있는가를 알도록 전시장을 꾸미고 있다. 각 주제별로 그 내용을 스케치해본다.

아인슈타인은 시공간에 관한 우리의 상식과 개념을 송두리째 바꾸어 버린 특수상대성이론 등 6개의 과학학술논문을 발표함으로써 그후 100년간의 물리학의 발전에 결정적인 영향을 미쳤다. 한국과학사총회와 한국과학저술인협회는 3월 17일 학산기술도서관에서 아인슈타인 탄생 11주년 기념 강연회를 가졌다. 다음은 이날 가진 민영기국립천문단장(아인슈타인과 우주론), 김정흠고대교수(상대론이후의 물리학), 이초식건대교수(아인슈타인의 과학철학)의 강연요지이다.

In this paper, we propose a representation method of emotions in RIDE(Robot Intelligence with Digital Emotion) project. The method used in RIDE not only represents the emotional state in James-Lange Theory but also represents that of the Cannon-Bard Theory. Furthermore, our method allow the memorization of an emotion so as to process the self-inflicting emotion mentioned in the Schafter-Singer Theory. We also allow the similarity and differences in the characteristics by compaing of two emotions.
