냉간단조에 의한 헬리컬기어의 새로운 성형방법과 이의 상계해석에 관하여

  • 냉간단조에 의한 새로운 헬리컬기어 성형공정이 제시되었다. 원형봉재로 부터 헬리컬기어를 압출함에 있어서 압출압력을 계산하기 위하여 상계정리를 적용하여 수치계산하고, 수치해석 결과와 압출하려는 기어의 금형을 설계 제작하여 실험한 결과를 비교 검토하고자 한다. 이론해석상 다이형상으로 인벌류트곡선을 사용한 이론해는 실험결과와 잘 일치하였다. 그리고, 다이의 형상을 평기어부와 헬리컬기어부의 이중구조로 된 신공정이 헬리컬기어부로만 된 사만타공정과 비교해서 금형강도를 향상시킴으로써 다이수명은 증가되었고, 자동차 변속기용으로 헬리컬기어는 KS 기어급수 4~5 급의 정밀도에 해당하는 기어를 가공했다. 이는 사만타공정의 정밀도 보다 향상된 결과를 얻었다.

  • Two uppor bound solutions, by the force balance method and by a kinematically admissible velocity field, are compared for the metal forming problems in plane strain. It is concluded that these two approaches always give identical results when the geometrical configurations of the deformation model reman the same. By detailed derivations for plastic bending of a notched bar, closed die forging, compression of a rectangular block, machining with a restricted contact tool and plane strain backward extrusion, the identity of both approaches is verified.

  • In general, the contact pressure to the die cannot be easily determined by using upper bound solution. Recently, the authors have proposed the method determining the contact pressure with the upper bound solution for the forming with the plane stain plastic deformation. In this paper, the method is applied to an axisymmetric forward extrusion process. The contact pressure to the die of the axisymmetric extrusion has been determined with the upper bound solution and compared with the result of rigid plastic FEM. The optimal semi-angles of die have been obtained minimizing the relative contact pressure to die fur the extrusion ratio.

  • This study introduces the diagrammatic Upper and Lower Bound (UB and LB) methods theoretically in order to derive the bearing capacity factor, $N_c$ in undrained clay and to compare with Prandtl's exact solution (1921). As a result of the theoretical study, an exact solution comes out when the UB and LB solutions are the same. In addition, the finite element analyses show that the failure loads approach to the bearing capacity factor of 5.14. Results of the FEA significantly depend on the finite element type, a number of elements, and a number of increments. From this study the exact solution defines that solutions from UB and LB are the same. However, this situation is very difficult to process, so we can confirm the exact solution as a range between UB and LB solutions.

  • The generalized Hoek-Brown failure criterion, the strength parameters of which are determined by using the GSI index, is an empirical nonlinear failure criterion of rock mass and has been widely employed in various rock engineering practices. Many rock engineering practitioners, however, are still familiar with the description of the strength of rock mass in terms of friction angle and cohesion. In addition, almost all rock mechanics softwares incorporate the simple linear Mohr-Coulomb function. Therefore, it is necessary to provide a tool to implement the Hoek-Brown function in the framework of the Mohr-Coulomb criterion. In this study, the use of upper-bound solution of limit analysis for bearing capacity of a strip footing resting on the ground surface is proposed for the estimation of the equivalent friction angle and cohesion of rock mass incorporating the generalized Hoek-Brown failure criterion. The upper-bound bearing capacity is expressed in terms of friction angle by use of the relationship between tangential friction angle and tangential cohesion implied in the generalized Hoek-Brown function. The friction angle minimizing the upper-bound bearing capacity is taken as the equivalent friction angle. Through the illustrative implementations of the proposed method, the influences of GSI, $m_i$ and D on the equivalent friction angle and cohesion are investigated.

  • 동력자원부는 국제원유가의 하락으로 국내도입가가 배럴당 18달러인 기준유가를 하회할 경우 석유수입시 부과하는 석유사업기금 1.7$/B이외의 추가기금징수요인을 정유업계에 대한 손실보전이 끝날때까지 징수를 유보, 상계처리하고, 수입유보금액중 수입원유에 해당하는 금액만큼은 정유 5사의 연간평균 수입금 단가에 맞추어 사후보정하기로했다. 차액기금 유보금액의 산정방법을 보면 정유사별 월별 기금유보액(상계처리금액)은 월별기금유보단가에 정유사별 기금징수유보대상 물량을 곱하여 산정하도록 되어있다. 기금유보단가는 국내 기준유가와 평균도입가와의 차액을 기준으로 하되 전체 유가들과의 차이를 감안하여 매달 산정 통보하기로 했다. 이같은 기금유보금액의 산정은 기금징수요인이 발생하는 지난해 12월 이후 통관분부터 적용된다.

  • Limit analysis is based on the duality theorem which equates the least upper bound to the greatest lower bound. In this study, limit analysis of axisymmetric forming problem with workhardening materials is formulated by minimizing the upper bound functional and finite element program is developed for forward estrusion. Limit loads, velocity and flow line fields are directly obtained under various process conditions and deformation characteristics such as strains, strain rates and grid distortion are obtained from the optimum velocity components by numerical calculation. The experimental observation was carried out for extrusion and compared with computed results. The good agreement between theoretical and experimental results is shown that the developed programming is very effective for the analysis of axisymmetric extrusion.

  • Both composition and XOR are operations widely used to enhance security of cryptographic schemes. The more number of random permutations we compose (resp. XOR), the more secure random permutation (resp. random function) we get. Combining the two methods, we consider a generalized form of random function: $SUM^s - CMP^c = ({\pi}_{sc} ... {\pi}_{(s-1)c+1}){\oplus}...{\oplus}({\pi}_c...{\pi}_1)$ where ${\pi}_1...{\pi}_{sc}$ are random permutations. Given a fixed number of random permutations, there seems to be a trade-off between composition and XOR for security of $SUM^s - CMP^c$. We analyze this trade-off based on some upper bound of insecurity of $SUM^s - CMP^c$, and investigate what the optimal number of each operation is, in order to lower the upper bound.

  • This paper discusses the prediction and validation of design loads of satellite components using modal mass acceleration curve (Modal MAC). To calculate the acceleration upper bound of the satellite components subjected to the launch environment by the Modal MAC, the parameters of SpaceX Falcon 9 launch vehicle were used, and the acceleration upper bound curve in the modal domain was derived. After that, the maximum acceleration loads applied to the satellite components were predicted by combining Modal MAC with the spacecraft interface loads of the satellite/launch vehicle and modal information of the satellite. In addition, the accuracy of the Modal MAC was validated through comparison with the results of the coupled loads analysis using a simple satellite and launch vehicle model.
