  • The purpose of this study was to understand verbal, physical, and sexual violence experiences among nurses and to explore the relationship between violence experiences and turnover intentions among nurses. In this study, a nationwide data of 11,154 nurses from the 2016 Health Workers' Survey conducted by Korean Health and Medical Workers' Union(KHMU) were utilized. Results showed that about half (47.2%) of nurses were experiencing verbal violence from colleagues, patients, and caregivers. Also, 75.3% of nurses in this study had the turnover intention. Finally, nurses who experienced violence had 2.65 times more of turnover intention than nurses who did not have violence experiences. There is a need to conduct a research identifying significant moderating factors which could alleviate the effect of violence experiences on turnover intentions as well as a research to develop and apply the program assisting nurses to overcome violence experience.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the impact of the oral health behavior and self-rated oral health of workers on their happiness indexes in an attempt to provide information on oral health planning geared toward industrial workers. The subjects in this study were 294 workers in North Gyeongsang Province. As a result of analyzing the relationship between their health behavior and happiness indexes, the workers who got regular health checkups had higher happiness indexes for both single items(p=0.002) and entire five items(0.012), and those who had their teeth cleaned over the past year had higher happiness indexes for both single items(p<0.001) and entire five items(p=0.003). As for a toothbrushing frequency, the respondents who brushed their teeth more frequently had higher happiness indexes for both single items(p<0.001) and entire five items(p=0.023), and those who had ever received oral health education had higher happiness indexes for both single items(p=0.041) and entire five items. The workers who kept their toothbrushes at work had higher happiness indexes for both single items(p=0.001) and entire five items, and the respondents who could afford to visit a dental clinic immediately in case of having a toothache had higher happiness indexes for both single items(p<0.001) and entire five items(p<0.001). The findings of the study suggest that the preparation of systematic oral health programs is required to boost the happiness indexes of industrial workers.

  • This work was intended to investigate types and characteristics of job stress in general hospitals and special hospitals, and thereby suggest the direction to perform stable employee management and stress alleviation program through the ways of overcoming stress depending on each characteristic of hospitals. In this study, 109 of professionals working in general hospitals and 117 working in specialized hospitals participated, and, as a measuring instrument, the 'Measuring Instrument of Korean Job Stressors' according to 'Standardization and Development of Korean Job Stress Questionnaire' made by Occupational Safety & Health Research Institute as part of a policy research project in 2004 was used. As a result, this work looked into stress characteristics appearing differently according to the environment and organizational system of general hospitals and special hospitals. Based on the study result, it is expected that this work will be used as a fundamental material to develop the program of overcoming stress on the basis of each hospital characteristic.

  • Obesity is increasing in our country due to lack of lifestyle and physical activity. Semi-automatic program is used in existing fat calculation program using computed tomography. Although methods for solving related problems have been proposed, this study proposes an algorithm using morphology operation and We want to solve the problem with a new method that has a simple procedure and a relatively small amount of computation. As a result of repetition of erosion and expansion Automatic fat mass calculation can be done in the future by using the developed partitioning result. By providing an accurate segmentation tool, it will be helpful to doctors and reduce the expense and inspection cost of retesting. through morphology operation, it was found that the problem was solved from the image.Automatic fat mass calculation can be done in the future by using the developed partitioning result. • Among the 4th Industrial Revolution technologies, evaluated bolus applicability through dose assesment according to the materials of 3D printing technology. Dose assesment was using MCNPX which was applied Monte Carlo method and 3D print materials were ABS, PC and PLA. Thus, the thickness with the same effect as the bolus 10 mm was found to be ABS 10 mm, PC 9 mm and PLA 9 mm for the 6 MeV electron. For 6 MV X-ray, ABS 11 mm, PC 10 mm and PLA 9 mm were shown. This study showed that tissue equivalent materials made from 3D printer materials can replace bolus.

  • This research aims to investigate into company workers' general characteristics and their awareness of the hygiene of the mouth and practice of it, in order to prepare schemes to improve the hygiene of their mouth. The findings of the research are listed in the following: First, the workers have a high level of awareness of the effect of tooth-brushing to prevent periodontal diseases but a low degree of awareness of its effect to prevent decayed teeth and of the necessity of mouth hygienic supplies. Second, they have a high level of awareness of the necessity and importance of scaling, but most of them do not have their teeth scaled periodically. To repeat, they have a high level of awareness of the necessity of dental examination, but not many of them put such awareness of theirs into practice. Third, married workers have a higher level of awareness of the hygiene of their mouth than unmarried ones do. The higher concern they have about the hygiene of their mouth, the more awareness they have of the hygiene of their mouth. Fourth, the higher monthly average income they have, the more frequently they put into practice their awareness of the hygiene of their mouth. And the poorer hygiene of their mouth they have, the more strongly they put into practice their awareness of the hygiene of their mouth.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships among emotional dissonance, depression and anxiety, and to examine the moderating effects of emotional intelligence on the relationships between emotional dissonance and both depression and anxiety in care service workers. For this study, a sample of 142 care service workers completed the questionnaires: Emotional Dissonance Scale, Patient Health Questionnaire-9, and Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7. This data was analyzed by SPSS 25.0 program. The results of the analysis showed that emotional dissonance and others' emotion appraisal had a significant effect on depression and anxiety. The results also verified the moderating effects of others' emotion appraisal on the relationship between emotional dissonance and depression. Finally, on the basis of the results, we proposed and discussed interventions on emotional labor and mental health issues of care service workers.

  • This study is a descriptive research study to analyze the relationship between learning motivation, learning immersion, and self-directed learning. For this study, data were collected from August 1 to 30, 2021. The collected data were analyzed using the IBM SPSS/WIN 22.0 program. The learning motivation was positively correlated with learning immersion and self-directed learning. In analysis results, the factors affecting learning immersion are learning motivation and self-directed learning. And it was confirmed that self-direction was a partial mediating factor in the relationship between learning motivation and learning immersion. Learning motivation is an important factor for nursing students' learning immersion and self-directed learning. Therefore, specific measures to improve self-directed learning should be prepared for learning immersion. Methods was nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design. The participants were 88 students 4 grade from the Department of Nursing at C University. The study period was from September 1 to December 31, 2021, and Data were analyzed with X2 test, independent t-test using SPSS 22.0 program. The research results show that the experimental group showed significantly higher performance(t=-9.843, p=.001) and learning satisfaction(t=-3.484, p<.001) for ACLS compared with the control group. In conclusion, it was suggested that ACLS simulation education based on Blended Learning is an effective teaching method to improve nursing students' performance and learning satisfaction.

  • This study was conducted to identify the effect of motive for major selection, major satisfaction on the nursing career commitment among senior nursing students. Data were collected from 215 nursing students and analyzed using t-test, ANOVA, Scheffé test, Pearson correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis by SPSS ver. 29.0. As a result of this study, There were positive correlations between motive for major selection(r=.41, p<.001), major satisfaction(r=.35, p<.001), and nursing career commitment. The predictor on nursing career commitment was motive for major selection, explaining 39.4% (F=18.40, p<.001) of the variance. In conclusion, Through this study we found that motive for major selection has the greatest impact on nursing career commitment, it is necessary to seek educational new programs and curricula to develop nursing student's nursing career commitment.
