A Study on the Analysis and Improvement of Defense Technology Planning in Response to the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4차 산업혁명 대응을 위한 국방기술기획 분석 및 개선방안 연구)

  • With the rise of the fourth industrial revolution, the importance of establishing R&D strategies to develop ICT technologies such as Big Data, Artificial Intelligence, Robots, the Internet of Objects, and 3D Printing is increasing. In this study, we analyzed the effects of the fourth industrial revolution on society and the present state of the national defense technology planning system, and proposed improvement measures for the utilization of the fourth industrial revolution in the defense industry from the perspective of defense R&D. The current defense R&D strategy focuses on securing the core technologies of each weapon system required by the military through research and development. Under the current system, the role of fourth industrial revolution technology will be confined to some of the weapons systems required by the military. In order to overcome this limitation, we propose a technology roadmap for the future weapons systems.

  • As autonomous vehicle technology has been gradually developed, robots that have introduced autonomous navigation systems have been actively involved in areas where there is a lot of livelihoods such as industrial sites and accident sites. For this reason, the unmanned transportation system equipped with the autonomous traveling system is widely used in harmful environments where human access is difficult. In addition, the introduction of the autonomous driving system reduces the collision and casualties that occur in a mobility environment like the industrial field, and it helps the efficient work process. In addition, autonomous driving vehicles can be handled more safely and quickly in a wider area by transmitting the surrounding environment of each vehicle to a server connected to each autonomous driving vehicle and passing it through the main server. In this paper, by utilizing V2X communication for autonomous unmanned forklift system, it can increase industrial workload, reduce loss of life and damage to property through wide area forklifts.

  • 자동차 산업에서 차체를 성형하는 프레스 금형 산업은 꾸준히 증가하고 있는 자동차 생산대수와 함께 성장해가고 있으며, 자동차 산업의 국제 경쟁이 심해지고 소비자들의 요구가 다양해짐에 따라 신제품 개발주기에 발맞추어 금형의 제작에도 단납기 및 비용절감을 위한 노력과 제품의 품질 향상을 위해 신기술, 신공법이 적용되고 있다. 한편 자동차 차체를 제작하는 프레스 금형가공은 박판소재를 원하는 형상으로 제작하는 공정으로써, 프레스의 상 하 운동을 이용하여 강판을 성형한다. 이러한 금형의 형태는 곧 자동차 차체 제품의 형태를 완성하므로 제품을 성형하는 도중에 금형과 소재의 마찰에 의해 금형의 마모나 마멸이 발생하여 제품의 품질을 저하시킬 우려가 있다. 따라서 금형의 내마모성 및 수명을 향상시키기 위한 방안들 중 표면경화처리가 행해지고 있으며, 그중 공정 속도가 빠르고 국부적인 열처리가 가능한 레이저 표면처리 방법이 많은 관심을 받고 있다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 금형의 성질을 향상시키기 위해 고출력 다이오드 레이저를 이용하여 프레스 금형공정 중 드로잉(drawing) 공정에의 적용을 위한 표면경화처리를 실시하였다. 최대출력 4.0kW의 다이오드 레이저를 사용하였으며, 6축 외팔보 로봇에 열처리용 광학계를 장착하여 열처리를 실시하였다. 또한 광학계 부근에는 적외선 온도센서가 부착되어있어 열처리시 시험편의 표면온도를 실시간으로 측정할 수 있도록 구성되어져있다. 시험편은 금형재료용 구상흑연 주철인 FCD550 소재를 사용하였으며, 공정변수에 따른 열처리 특성을 파악하고, 그 경화특성을 평가하였다. 실험 결과, FCD550 소재의 표면 열처리시 레이저 출력 3.5kW, 빔 이송속도 3mm/sec에서 최적의 열처리 특성을 나타내었으며, 이때의 최고 경도는 930Hv을 나타내며 모재에 비해 경도가 3배 정도 상승하는 우수한 경화특성을 보였다.

  • The control moment gyroscope(CMG) which is well known as an effective high-torque-generating device is applicable to space vehicles, airplanes, ships, automobiles, robotics, etc. for attitude stabilization and maneuver. This paper deals with the overall details of 100Nm-class CMG development for various industrial applications, and provides the activities and results associated with the CMG system-level requirement analysis, the motor subsystem design/manufacturing/integration, the construction of ground support equipment, and the performance test and evaluation. The performance test reveals that the CMG generates the torque output more than 120Nm in as-designed operation of spin motor and gimbal motor.

  • Nowadays, the construction industry is suffering from the decrease of labor productivity caused by the lack of skilled workers and the aging labor forces. The hazardous work conditions and safety problems still exist at the construction sites. The earthwork operation is not the exception. The number of skilled earthwork equipment operators has been rapidly reduced and the equipment needs to be operated in dangerous / hazardous work sites. Thus, through the development of intelligent excavating system, Intelligent Excavating System(I.E.S) research team tries to enhance the safety of work environment, productivity, quality, and payability of the earthwork operation. It is also expected that this research contributes to the development of fundamental construction automation technologies and to the creation a new market sector.

  • To prepare for and implement policies for the Fourth Industrial Revolution, which is characterized by convergence, super-connectivity, and AI, this study summarized the effects and characteristics of individual technologies on our society and discussed the issues with humanity and social science perspectives. As a result, in terms of AI technology, the issues of job losses, project-type works, basic income and robot taxes, accountability of AI, and algorithm inequality were dealt with. Security, cyber hacking and privacy infringement issues were highlighted in big-data technology. In the part of block-chain and bioengineering, the society of decentralization, the concentration, digital divide, and ethical issues were discussed. On-demand economic aspects highlighted the problems of civil ethics and human commercialization. Lastly, the development of VR is discussed including side effects such as cyber-syndrom, avoidance of reality, and so on.

  • The fourth industrial revolution is emerging as the talk of the times. The industrial structure is changing greatly from the past, as well as the social scene, changing our daily lives. Especially, the importance of the software sector is growing. For students who have to live in this future society, computational thinking is a key capability. In order to achieve this goal, this study was carried out in the following steps. First, we organized a SW education convergence program based on life-oriented aspects. Second, the configured program was applied to the site to verify the effectiveness of computational thinking. The results of this study show that the experimental group has 32 points better than the pre-test, and the comparative group has about 2 points better. The statistical significance probability was a significant difference of .028. The results of this study may be used as a reference for the training of SW convergence education and future talent in the future.

  • In the rapid technological development of artificial intelligence (AI), electric vehicles, and robots based the fourth industrial revolution, semiconductors determine the core performance, and semiconductor competitiveness is directly related to national competitiveness. However, the Korean semiconductor industry has continuously weakened its competitiveness in the system semiconductor field, excluding memory semiconductors, so in this study, a new smart contract basedblockchain business model to engage the global market, which is the most urgent need for the growth of Korean fabless system semiconductor industry in recession. F-SBM (Fabless-Smart contract based Blockchain Model) proposed. In this study, through the new F-SBM, it was verified how to engage new customers for fabless firms through smart contract based consortium blockchain regarding technology, economy, and reliability items of fabless. This model has great significance in improving the high entry barriers to engaging new customers for the long-cherished desire of the Korean fabless system semiconductor industry and deriving new growth solutions.

4D Printing Materials for Soft Robots (소프트 로봇용 4D 프린팅 소재)

  • This paper aims to investigate 4D printing materials for soft robots. 4D printing is a targeted evolution of the 3D printed structure in shape, property, and functionality. It is capable of self-assembly, multi-functionality, and self-repair. In addition, it is time-dependent, printer-independent, and predictable. The shape-shifting behaviors considered in 4D printing include folding, bending, twisting, linear or nonlinear expansion/contraction, surface curling, and generating surface topographical features. The shapes can shift from 1D to 1D, 1D to 2D, 2D to 2D, 1D to 3D, 2D to 3D, and 3D to 3D. In the 4D printing auxetic structure, the kinetiX is a cellular-based material design composed of rigid plates and elastic hinges. In pneumatic auxetics based on the kirigami structure, an inverse optimization method for designing and fabricating morphs three-dimensional shapes out of patterns laid out flat. When 4D printing material is molded into a deformable 3D structure, it can be applied to the exoskeleton material of soft robots such as upper and lower limbs, fingers, hands, toes, and feet. Research on 4D printing materials for soft robots is essential in developing smart clothing for healthcare in the textile and fashion industry.

  • Clients require easy to use of product and operating and industry safety according to the change of a market and a factory. For overcoming it, this paper developed controller of take-out robots that take high speed and superprecision and supplement a week point as use the system based on network. development controller classify teaching pendant and center server PC. Center server PC service the information about all process to supervisor. Teaching pendant is the bridge that service various faculties such as control, user recognition, metallic pattern operation to the user using injection molding. The controller development for taking out injection molded body classify software and hardware. The development of software is divided into three step which is application program, user interface and device driver. the simple device driver is not classified and included in application program. The hardware induce the touch panel and wireless network and construct the effective process control and internet connection. The inject ion cycle of existing system was five second but advanced system has the inner four cycle, process efficiency and product operation through wireless network.
