The Study of the Fitness on Calculation of the Flood Warning Trigger Rainfall Using GIS and GCUH (GIS와 GCUH를 이용한 돌발홍수 기준우량 산정의 타당성 검토 연구)

  • Using geomorphoclimatic unit hydrograph(GCUH), we estimated the fitness to calculate the mountainous area discharge and flash flood trigger rainfall(FFTR). First, we compared the GCUH peak discharge with the existing report using the design storm at the Dukcheon basin. Second, we compared the HEC-HMS(Hydrologic Engineering Center-Hydrologic Modeling System) model and GCUH with the observed discharge using the real rainfall events at the Taesu stage gage. Third, GCUH and NRCS(Natural Resources Conservation Service) were used for calculating FFTR and proper calculation method was shown. At the Dukcheon basin, the comparison result of using design storm was shown in Table 11, and it was not in excess of 1.1, except for the 30 year return period. In case of real rainfall events, the result was shown in Table 12, and GCUH discharges were all larger than the HEC-HMS model discharges, and they were very similar to the observed data at the Taesu stage gage. In this study, we found that GCUH was a very proper method in the calculation of mountainous discharge. At the Dukcheon basin, FFTR was 12.96 mm in the first 10 minutes when the threshold discharge was 95.59 $m^3$/sec.

An Objective Procedure to Decide the Scale Factors for Applying Land-form Classification Methodology Using TPI (TPI 응용에 의한 산악지형 분류기법의 적용을 위한 scale factor 선정방법 개발)

  • The objective of this research was to introduce the TPI approach for interpreting land-forms of mountain forests in South Korea. We develop an objective procedure to decide the scale factor as a basic analytical unit in land-form classification of rugged mountain areas using TPI. In order to determine the scale factor associated with the pattern of slope profiles, the gradient variance curve was derived from a revised hypsometric curve developed using the relief energy of topographic profiles. Using the gradient variance curve, found was the grid size with which the change in relief energy got the peak point. The grid size at the peak point was determined as the scale factor for the study area. In order to investigate the performance of the procedure based on the gradient variance curve, it was applied to determination of the site-specific scale factors of 3 different terrain conditions; highly-rugged, moderately-rugged and relatively less-rugged. The TPI associated with the corresponding scale factors by study site was, then, determined and used in classifying the land-forms. According to the results of this study, the scale factor gets shorter with more rugged terrain conditions. It was also found that the numbers of valleys and ridges estimated with TPI show almost the same trends as those of the observed and the scale factors tends to approach to the mean distance of ridges.

  • 기후변화로 인한 환경문제가 심각하게 대두되고 있는 상황에 하천으로 유입되는 토사에 대한 저감공법에 대한 연구가 활발히 이루어지고 있다. 토사 유출양을 산정하기 위해서는 여러 수문모형을 사용하고 있으며 이에 따른 입력자료에 대한 정확성을 요구하고 있는 실정이다. 하지만 입력 자료 중 DEM의 규격에 따른 특별한 규제가 없어 정량화된 규격을 사용하지 않고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 수문모형의 입력자료인 DEM의 셀 사이즈 크기 변화에 따른 토사유출 모의 결과의 변화를 확인하고자 한다. DEM의 셀 사이즈의 크기 변화에 따른 토사유출 모의를 위해 선정된 지역은 미국 위스콘신 주의 산악지형을 가지는 소유역 2곳과 평지지역을 가지는 소유역 2곳을 선정하여 연구를 진행했다. 토사유출량을 산정하기 위해 사용된 모형은 미국 농무성에서 개발되어 공급하고 있는 Arc SWAT을 사용하여 모의하였으며 사용된 DEM의 셀 사이즈는 10m, 30m, 50m, 100m의 규격으로 진행하였다. 모의된 결과를 대표적인 보정 및 검증 모형인 SWAT-CUP을 사용하여 보정 및 검증을 진행하였다. SWAT-CUP을 이용하여 추출해낸 Best parameter를 모든 조건에 동일하게 적용한 뒤 검정을 진행한 결과 DEM의 셀 사이즈 변화에 따른 토사 유출량에 많은 차이가 나타났으며 셀 사이즈크기가 작아질수록 좀 더 많은 양의 토사 유출량을 산정하는 것으로 확인하였다. 본 연구를 통해 DEM 셀 사이즈의 정량화의 필요성을 확인하였으며, 앞으로 진행될 토사 유출 관리를 위한 연구에 많은 도움을 줄 것이라 판단된다.

Research on Cultural Scenic Landscape in Jingyeong Sansuhwa - Centering around Gyeomjae Jeongseon's Works - (진경산수화에 표현된 풍토경관에 관한 기초연구 - 겸재 정선의 작품을 중심으로 -)

  • This research is an introductory study that hopes to interpret the cultural scenic landscape by analyzing Korea's mountains, streams, topography, color, light, human behavior, and more based on real landscape paintings. It places its purpose on understanding our intrinsic cultural scenic landscape by investigating the changed topography and the differing life patterns caused bythe active national land development after the modern era. With Seoul, which is now difficult to find images of its past, and the surrounding areas of the Han riverbed, the interpretation related to its original topography, landscape, climate, weather, and human behaviors was observed while the main focus was placed on the climate of the perception held by people regarding Mt. Geumgang and other ranges which are not fully opened to the public yet. In order to comprehensively analyze the figures of features and appearing landscapes including color, light, and more, it was described through the concept called climate. Hereupon, the real landscape paintings by Gyunjae(Jeong-Seon), mainly bearing features of existing Korean mountains, wereutilized as visual historical material. However, not having all his works, other pieces with representative characteristics were utilized such as "Gyeong-Gyo-Myeong-Seung-Chup(a painting with picturesque sceneries around old Seoul)" and "Hae-Ak-Jeon-Shin-Chup(a landscape painting including even the spirits of the seas and mountains)" which contain the regions' distinct scenery. As a result, the old cultural scenic landscapes of Korea are regarded as containing diverse mountains and where the conceptions of the treatment of mountains were reflected.

Improved Water Area Classification from Radarsat SAR Image and Surface Informations in Mountainious Area (RADARSAT 위성영상과 지형정보를 이용한 산악지역의 수계지역 추출 정확도 향상)

  • 위성영상으로부터 수계영역을 분류하는 일은 홍수관련 분석을 위해서 매우 중요한 일이다. 본 연구에서는 홍수 발생시 취득된 RADARSAT 영상을 이용해서 산악지역의 수계영역의 분류를 목적으로 하였다. SAR 영상은 능동적 영상취득을 수행하므로 광학영상에 비해서 수계영역이 확실하게 나타나는 반면에 지형의 기복에 따른 여러 가지 왜곡현상이 발생한다. 본 연구에서는 RADARSAT 영상으로부터 수계영역의 분류를 위해 방사보정, 그림자 효과제거, 고도자료 및 경사도 자료의 활용 등의 경우로 구분하여 연구를 수행하였다. 그 결과 RADARSAT 영상만을 활용할 경우 분류의 정확도에 한계를 보였으며, RADARSAT 영상에 지형정보를 추가로 활용함으로서 정확한 수계영역을 분류할 수 있었다. 특히 RADARSAT 영상과 경사도 자료를 동시에 활용하여 수계지역을 분류하는 것이 가장 효과적임을 알 수 있었다.

A study on the temperature drop rate for a military product test & evaluation in the mountains (군수품 환경시험을 위한 남한 산악 지역 고도에 따른 온도강하율 산출 연구)

  • Environmental tests are used to verify an equipment that can withstand the rigors of harsh environments. In general, military products have lots of experiences with extreme environment compared to commercial products. Therefore, the military products used in mountains require a tailoring process about temperature drop for the environmental test. The International Organization for Standardization publishes that the coefficient of temperature drop is $-6.5^{\circ}C/1000m$ from all around the world. However, there is no the criteria in the South Korea. In this paper, we calculate the coefficient of temperature drop. Also, an equation used as a tailoring process for a low temperature test of the products has been suggested.

Numerical Simulations of Local Wind Field at the Naro Space Center by MUKLIMO with Terrain and Surface Effects (지형과 지표효과를 고려한 나로 우주센터의 국지규모 바람장 수치모의)

  • Microscale wind fields were simulated by MUKLIMO at the Naro Space Center, where complicated mountainous terrain and trees exist. In order to test the model's sensitivity with the effects of terrain and trees, experimental simulations were conducted under the various initial conditions. The experiments showed that the effects of trees were more significant on flat surfaces than on mountain cliffs. Based on the results, an actual 10 m level microscale wind field was simulated at the Naro Space Center, which has complicated mountainous terrain. Simulations of wind fields before and after the construction of the launching site were also conducted. It was found that MUKLIMO was of the mesoscale wind fields at the Naro Space Center.

An Analysis of Disposal Site about an Airport useing ICAO and GIS (ICAO 기준과 지리정보를 이용한 공항입지선정에 관한 연구)

  • This paper shows disposal site about an airport using ICAO(International Civil Aviation Organization)and GIS(Geographic Information System). In Korea, mountains occupy above $70\%$ of the whole country centering around Baek-Du mountain range and a physical distribution system doesn't go on smoothly between east and west region. At present, disposal site about an airport follows the standard of ICAO and FAA(Federal Aviation Administration). So, it's desperately necessary to make the new standard suitable for the condition of Korea. This study analyzes major customers in the aerospace and transportation sector by considering the present condition of location of geography, atmospheric phenomena, population and transportation about Ul-Jin airport on the standard of ICAO and FAA. As the results, Gi-Sung site proposed for the airport using the existing a runway in air force has a locality road connecting a fishing and agrarian villages and is shown better than the others.
