  • The purpose of this study is to examine the associations between social support, self-esteem, self-concealment, and depression among college students. The mediating effects of self-concealment and gender differences in the associations were also examined. This study investigated these relationships and the gender differences using structural equation modeling multi-group analysis. The data collected from 307 college students in Daegu and Gyeongbuk areas were analyzed. The results indicated that both social support and self-esteem had effects on depression indirectly through self-concealment, and self-esteem also had direct effects on depression. The indirect effects of self-concealment were statistically significant. There were no gender differences in these relationships. These results suggest that self-concealment should be focused to prevent or alleviate depression among college students.

The results reveal that job-seeking stress shows positive correlation to mental health, whereas career decision-making and social support show statistically significant negative correlations. The results also show that the factors that affect mental health are job-seeking stress and social support with Exploratory power of 48.9%. It is necessary to develop and apply measures that consider impact factors such as job-seeking stress to improve mental health of university students. • In this paper, we propose the moderating effects of self-efficacy and social support on the relationship between physical therapists' job stress and psychological burnout. Based on the previous studies, this study set up three types of variables: 1) independent variable, 2) moderating variable, 3) dependent variable. Job stress was identified as an independent variable, self-efficacy and social support was identified as a moderating variable and psychological burnout was identified as a dependent variable. To empirically conduct this study, a total of 200 questionnaires were distributed to physical therapists. Consequently, a total of 155 survey responses were collected. The survey results are as follows. First, the result showed a high-level of correlation among job stress, psychological burnout, self-efficacy, and social support. Second, self-efficacy was found to have a moderating effect on the relationship between the physical therapists' job stress and psychological burnout. Third, social support was found to have a moderating effect on the relationship between the art therapists' job stress and psychological burnout.

  • This study was conducted to analyze the model of suicide ideation in the elderly living alone. This study is a descriptive research study of 300 elderly living alone in C-region. It is a frequency analysis, correlation analysis, simple rare analysis. AMOS statistics were performed. Data collection was from October 1, 2016 to December 31, 2016. The results of this study are as follows. Family support has a direct effect on suicidal ideation(need for suicide ${\beta}=-.362$, p=.000, negative attitudes toward life ${\beta}=-.259$, p=.001). A total of 149 outpatients receiving regular hemodialysis at four dialysis centers located in J city were surveyed. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, and multiple linear regression. Factors including social support (β=.37, p<.001), health literacy (β=.16, p=.035), and religion (others) (β=-.25, p=.001) had an effect on sick role behavior. • The purpose of this study was to examine the fitness of a Path model to represent relations between stress, social support, depression, and suicidal ideation in middle-aged males. The participants were 236 middle-aged males, and data were collected from April 11 to June 1, 2018. The analysis was performed using descriptive statistics and Pearson's correlations in PASW Ver. 21.0, and AMOS Ver. 18.0 (a statistical structural equation modeling program), fitness characteristics of the final model were RMSEA 0.05, GFI 0.98, AGFI 0.95, and NFI 0.98. The major study results were as follows. First, stress had a direct effect on depression and drinking, and social support had a direct effect on depression. Second, stress and social support both directly affected suicidal ideation. Results also suggested depression had partial mediating effects on relations between stress, social support, and suicidal ideation.
