The primary goal of this study is to investigate the effects of individual's subjective social status on meaning of work. We hypothesized that individual's subjective social status, defined as the respect and influence an individual has at her/his workplace, would promote meaning of work. Further, we hypothesized that individual's subjective social status would be more highly associated with meaning of work based on her/his occupation's subjective social status. Using two experimental studies, we found that individual's subjective social status increased meaning of work in American (Experiment 1) and South Korean working adults (Experiment 2). Participant's meaning of work was more influenced by individual subjective social status than occupation subjective social status (Experiment 1). Also, the results from Experiment 2 indicated that objective social status within an organization (i.e., rank) moderated the effects of individual subjective social status on meaning of work, such that the beneficial effects of individual subjective social status on meaning of work were found only for participants with low objective social status. In contrast, meaning of work in participants with high objective social status did not vary depending on subjective social status. We discussed the implications of these results, study limitations, and directions for future research.

The current study examined the differential effects of giving and receiving social support in the elderly when relationships(family, friend/neighbor) are important. For this purpose, the mediation effects of meaning in life on the relationship between giving and receiving social support and self-esteem were analyzed. Self-reporting data of 310 adults aged over 60 living in Busan and Gyeongnam in South Korea were collected regarding giving and receiving social support, meaning of life and self-esteem. The mediation analysis showed that giving social support had a positive effect on self-esteem with the partial mediation effect of meaning in life. Receiving social support, however, showed no significant mediation effect of meaning in life. This pattern was similar regardless of both family and non-family relations. The result that giving social support enhances self-worth in the elderly through meaning in life suggests the importance of social interaction with intimate others as a source of happiness in the elderly.

본 논문에서는 교복의 다양한 요소를 사회심리학적 이론에 적용하여 설명함으로써 교복에 대한 사회심리학적 의미를 연구하였다. 본 연구는: 1) 교복의 기능, 장점, 단점, 의미에 관한 기존 문헌자료를 조사하고, 2) 대표적인 다섯 가지 사회심리학 이론을 통하여 교복의 사회심리학적 의미를 조명하며, 3) 교복의 사회심리학적 측면에 관한 향후 연구방향과 과제를 도출하는 목적을 가진다. 교복의 사회심리학적 의미 연구에 사용된 이론은 conformity and uniformity, Post-modernism, role theory, symbolic interaction, 그리고 semiotics and informational processing 이었다. 상기한 다섯가지 이론을 바탕으로 도출한 향후 연구과제로는: 1) 교복 디자인 선택에 있어 학교의 가치기준과 목표 반영 정도, 2) 시대적, 조직적 변화에 대응하는 학생들의 교복변형 행동, 3) 교복도입 전후에 학생들의 역할 수행 변화와 학년에 따른 학생들의 교복행동 변화, 4) 교복 도입이 경제적으로 어려운 학생들의 의복박탈감과 자아존중감에 미치는 영향, 5) 관찰자에 따른 교복 의미 부여의 다양성 등이 제시되었다.

'공사(公事)'는 『전경』이 담고 있는 매우 중요한 종교 문화적 현상이다. 그리고 그 속에는 매우 깊은 사상적 의미가 내포되어 있다. 대순진리회 공사개념의 연원은 중국 고대의 경전과 문헌에서 그 단서를 찾아볼 수 있으나, 그것은 결코 단순히 중국의 것을 답습한 것이 아니다. 강성상제와 도주 조정산께서는 '묵은 하늘'의 음양 혼란 시대에 공사를 행하였기 때문에, 도수를 바로잡는 공사는 근본부터 바로잡는다는 의미가 있으며, 새로운 시대를 의미하는 '개벽'도 이에 포함된다. 중도, 화평, 공정은 질서가 바로 잡힌 사회의 시작을 의미하며, 이는 새로운 생활을 창조하는 데 있어 중요한 현실적 의의를 지닌다. 전체적으로 볼 때 대순진리회의 공사는 사회의 변화와 사회적 요구에 응답하여 생겨난 종교문화 활동이다. 이러한 종교문화 활동은 일종의 기호로서, 상징성을 갖춘 의식을 거행하는 것이다. 공사는 명부의 한을 해결하는 것으로부터 시작되는데, 이는 근본을 중시한다는 의미이며, 태초로 거슬러 올라가 사회를 다스리는 커다란 방향을 전개한다는 것이다. '역도(逆度)'를 조정하는 공사에서는 사회적 관점에서 보자면, 역사가 남긴 문제에 대해 고민하고 해결하려는 태도를 뜻한다. 이는 민생문제를 매우 중시하였음과 인간의 도에 대해 경외심과 존중을 표현하고 있음이 나타내며, 결국 '보세(普世)'의 의미를 지닌다고 볼 수 있다. 공사를 실천하는 방법은 '신생활법'이며, 이는 인(仁)과 인류와 동물에 대한 자비심을 강조하며 '삼계개벽'의 개혁정신과 창조적 사고를 나타낸다. 이로써 '통달(通達)'과 '대도(大道)'의 정신을 나타내었다. 이로 볼 때, 인간의 삶을 인도하며, 궁극적으로는 지상천국을 건설하고자 하는 정신이 공사의 개념 속에 분명하게 드러나 있음을 알 수 있다.

The Study on the Film, as the one of the main fields in the cultural studies, has the significant meaning in analyzing our society in that culture represents the realities of the present society. Film is the metaphorically expressed text and the specific space where a variety of discourses cross. The director's social consciousness projected in the film must have the ultimate significance through the dialectic relation between the intention of the director and the interpretation of the audience, not through the his one-sided message to the audience. This paper focuses on the analysis of the movie 'The Host', which is evaluated to show the meaningful social phenomena related to 'disaster' among the recent movies in Korea. The Host which is characteristic of 'the open structure' can be referred to as the film reflecting the imperial order prevalent in the colonial society.

해외 선진국을 중심으로 전 세계적으로 경기침체와 저성장, 저고용이 일어나고 있으며, 고용구조의 변화, 여성 운동, 도시 인구 이동, 환경오염, 장애인 일자리, 저출산 고령화시대, 청소년 문제, 평화문제 등 많은 사회문제들이 생겨나고 있다. 이들 국가는 이러한 다양한 사회문제들을 해결하기 위해 사회 서비스를 제공하고, 사회적 가치를 추구하기 위해 사회적기업(social enterprises), 사회적기업가 등을 육성하고 있다. 이는 우리나라도 마찬가지이며, 국내에 '사회적기업육성법'이 도입된 지 11년이 지났다. 그러나 2018년 10월을 기준으로 사회적기업은 2,030개에 불과한데, 이는 우리나라에서 사회적기업을 창업하고 성공하는 것이 얼마나 어려운지를 의미하는 것이다. 따라서 사회적기업의 창업 결정과 성공요인을 연구하는 것은 향후 사회적기업을 육성하는데 있어 큰 의미가 있다. 사회적기업의 창업의지에 영향을 주는 요인에 관한 연구는 학문적으로 중요한 의미를 갖는데, 선행연구는 사회적기업의 성과분석과 육성방향, 사회적기업가 정신에 초점을 두어왔다. 그러나 사회적기업 창업 활성화에 관한 연구는 이제 시작 단계이며, 특히 사회적기업 창업에 영향을 미치는 요인들의 연구는 미비한 상황이다. 본 연구의 목적은 기존 연구의 공백을 채우고자 사회적기업 창업과 사회적기업에 관한 기존 선행 연구들을 바탕으로 경상남도 대학생의 사회적기업 창업 의지에 영향을 미치는 요인을 실증분석하는데 있다. 이러한 요인들을 파악함으로써 앞으로 경상남도 사회적기업 창업의 활성화를 위해 정부와 대학의 전략적 역할에 관해 논의해 보고자 한다.

건강한 삶을 산다는 것은 어떤 의미일까? 건강은 단순히 육체적으로 병이 없는 상태를 의미하는 것이 아니라 정신적, 사회적으로 얼마나 안녕한가에 있다. 즉, 건강한 사회가 되어 그안의 구성원이 되어야 한다는 것이다. 우리나라의 의료현실을 살펴보고 다시 한번 건강한 삶에 대해서 생각해보자.

한 미디어를 다른 미디어에서 표상하는 것을 재매개 remediation (이재현, 2006)라고 한다. 보통 재매개는 원 소스 멀티 유즈 혹은 재목적화 repurposing로 알려져 있다. 한 미디어가 다른 미디어를 통해 표상된다는 사실은 한가지 컨텐츠를 다양한 창구 혹은 채널을 통해 내보냄으로써 해당 컨텐츠의 가치를 극대화한다는 경영학적 의미뿐만 아니라, 미학적 사회학적 의미를 가진다. 특정한 미디어를 통해 보여지는 컨텐츠가 이질적인 다른 미디어를 통해 표상되면, 컨텐츠 뿐만 아니라 표상되는 미디어도 쉽게 인식하게 되면서 미학적 의미를 갖는다. 가령 액자 속에 들어있는 풍경화를 보는 순간, 액자라는 창을 넘어서 그림이 표상하는 풍경을 보려고 하지만, 액자 속의 퐁경화를 텔레비전을 통해 보게 되면, 시청자는 그림을 둘러싼 액자 혹은 그 그림이 위치한 미술관을 인식하기 마련이다. 또한 새롭게 등장하는 미디어와 그 종사자는 기존 미디어 혹은 종사자들의 사회적 지위를 표상하면서 기존 미디어의 지위를 이어받으려고 하면서 사회적 의미를 갖는다. 컴퓨터 게임이라는 미디어가 텔레비전을 통해 방송되는 e-sports는 디지털 컨텐츠의 전형적 재매개의 예가 될 수 있다. e-sports중계는 컴퓨터 게임 화면만을 보여주지 않는다. 게이머의 표정, 게임의 제반 정보를 나타내는 게임 화면의 세부 창들, 관중들의 반응, 해설자의 해설, 리플레이 화면 등을 동시 혹은 선형적으로 보여줌으로써, 시청자로 하여금 끊임없이 컴퓨터 게임이라는 미디어를 인식하게 한다. 또한 e-sports는 이름에서도 드러나듯이, sports의 사회적 지위를 표상한다. e-sports 플레이어들이 선수로 불리고, 이들이 프로 게임단을 조직해 활동한다. e-sports(스타크래프트의 경우)는 상설 경기장에서, 종종 체육관에서 대규모 관중들 앞에서 보여짐으로써 기존 sports 경기를 표상한다. 재매개는 새로운 미디어가 등장하면서 자연스럽게 취하는 전략이다. 새로운 미디어가 쏟아지는 디지털 미디어 시대, e-sports의 재매개 전략을 살펴봄으로써 새로운 미디어가 미학적, 사회적으로 자리잡을 수 있는 함의를 얻을 수 있다.

본 연구는 남성에 대한 인식이 변화하고 외모에 대한 남성들의 관심이 증가되고 있는 사회적 상황에서 사회적 배경에 따라 남성의 메이크업문화가 형성되어온 과정을 고찰하고 사회의 의식, 가치, 이념을 반영하면서 새로운 것을 창조하는 사회 문화적 기능을 수행한다고 할 수 있는 남성화장품 광고를 중심으로 가치관과 사회적 의미의 변화를 고찰, 분석하는데 그 목적이 있다. 남성의 메이크업문화를 분석하기 위해 질적인 연구방법인 문헌고찰을 통해 시대적 배경을 고찰하였으며 화장품광고 텍스트를 분석하는데는 내용분석과 기호학적 분석을 실시함으로써 결과를 객관화 하고자 하였다.

Social historical geography is interested in geographical elements related with a social group and perceives the diverse dimensions of a geographical phenomenon. The purpose of this study is to examine and interpret the multi-layers of meanings associated with the ancestral places of lineage group, i.e. Bonkwans(本貫)in Korea with a viewpoint to social historical geography. The term Bonkwan does not appear in any historical records prior to ths 10th century. Thereafter it is used continuoushy by lineage groups or by govermment agents till the 17th century. I believe that during this long-term period Bonkwan assumed multiple geographical meanings which varied from period to period, such as residence place, a place of origin, and a place symbolizing power. Each layer of meaning was the product of a certain period and of a cetain lineage. Its first meaning was produced in the early Koryo kingdom. Its second meaning from late in the same kingdom to the early part of Chosun kingdom. In order to understand the meaning of Bonkwan correctively, we need to see it at a large perspective. That is to say, it needs to be viewed in the framework of immigration study of each lineage because the term is more is moreof a social construct than a fixed notion.
