Problem-Solving Model to Improve Scientific Literacy of Youth (청소년의 과학적 소양 향상을 위한 문제해결 모형 개발 연구)

  • This study aims to find methods to improve the scientific literacy of the youth, which comprise the group who will lead the upcoming era of knowledge and science. To do this, the study focuses on improving the youth's understanding of science and their ability to utilize it. It is widely recognized that scientific literacy Is highly essential in this era of scientific revolution and innovations. Accordingly, various kinds of programs are being developed in Korea and other countries. In particular, 'Project 2061' is designed to enable a permanent learning system by improving problem-solving ability through the scientific process. This system plays an Important role In supporting the Americans' Pursuit of Increased literacy in the fields of science, mathematics, and engineering. To improve the scientific literacy of young people, content development in relation with school courses as well as information services that arouse Interest and curiosity In the field of science is very important. In addition, It is necessary to develop a problem-solving program by stages. Further studies focusing on methods of improving scientific literacy of the youth are recommended.

  • 연구윤리는 학자나 학계에 국한된 문제가 아니다. 만일 부정 연구를 행하는 학자들이 버젓이 행세하고 다닌다면 성실히 연구를 수행하는 많은 학자들의 의지가 꺾이고 학문 발전의 암적 요소가 될 것은 불 보듯 뻔한 일히다. 또한 학문의 지적 경쟁력은 약화되고 사회와 국가의 역량도 더불어 약화될 것이다. 연구윤리를 높이기 위해서는 온정주의나 부실한 논문 관리 시스템, 정량 평가 문제 등을 해결하는 구조적인 차원에서의 접근이 필요하다. 아울러 장기적인 계획을 세우고 관리 인프라를 구축하는 등 정부 차원에서의 노력도 필요하다.

  • 현대 지식정보화 사회에서 학생들의 자기 주도적 학습능력을 중시하는 시대적 요구에 따라 본 연구에서는 스크래치 프로그래밍 교육을 통하여 학생들의 자기 주도적 학습능력에 가장 많은 영향을 미치는 상위인지능력을 향상시키기 위한 방안을 제시하고자 한다. 기존의 여러 교육용 프로그래밍 교육은 그 자체의 기능을 익히는데 너무 많은 시간과 노력이 소요되어 정작 프로그래밍 교육을 통해 얻고자 하는 것을 얻기에는 부족함이 많이 있었다. 하지만 최근 개발된 교육용 프로그램 스크래치는 기존에 교육용 프로그램이 갖고 있던 여러 가지 단점을 보완하고 보다 쉬운 프로그래밍 교육을 통해 논리력이나 문제해결력 같은 고인지 사고능력을 길러줄 수 있다. 자신의 인지상태를 탐색하고 학습 혹은 문제 해결 과정에 필요한 인지적 자원을 분석하며 능동적으로 조정하는 인지적 상호작용의 총합인 상위인지능력의 향상에 중점을 둔 스크래치 프로그래밍 교육을 통해 학생들의 상위인지능력을 향상시킬 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

The Effects of Clinical Nurses' Resilience and Social Problem-Solving Ability on Burnout (임상간호사의 회복탄력성과 사회적 문제해결능력이 소진에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was conducted as a descriptive study with the aim of identifying the effects of clinical nurses' resilience and social problem solving abilities on burnout. Data collection for the study was carried out between May $30^{th}$ and June $19^{th}$, 2013 by surveying 192 clinical nurses working in university medical centers and general hospitals located in D city. Measures were subjects' resiliency, social problem solving abilities, and burnout. For the analysis of the data, the statistical methods of frequency, mean and standard deviation, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and multiple regression analysis were employed. When the category of burnout was analyzed by general features, placement in a desired department and size of hospital, there were significant differences. Burnout correlated negatively with resilience and social problem solving abilities. Factors affecting clinical nurses' burnout were identified in the order of resilience, size of hospital, social problem solving abilities, and placement in a desired department and the explanatory power was 43.1%. The findings of the study indicate that in order to decrease clinical nurses' burnout, their resilience and social problem solving abilities have to be enhanced.

  • 21세기 지식정보화 사회는 데이터를 수집, 조작, 가공할 수 있는 능력이 중요한 사회이다. 외국의 경우, 이러한 사회적 흐름에 걸맞게 초등학교 교육과정에서부터 체계적인 데이터베이스 교육이 실시되고 있으나, 우리나라는 아직 단순한 정보의 검색 및 활용 교육에 그치고 있다. 심지어 초등 정보영재를 위한 데이터베이스 교육 역시 컴퓨터 과학의 타 영역에 비해 매우 소홀히 다루어지고 있는 실정이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 국내외 데이터베이스 교육 현황을 분석하고, 초등학생을 위한 데이터베이스 교육 방안을 교육 내용 및 수준, 교수 학습 방법 및 평가의 측면에서 제안하였다. 내용 및 수준의 경우 초등학생이 실생활에서 접할 수 있는 과제를 중심으로 데이터베이스의 개념, 조작, 응용하기를 통해 문제를 해결할 수 있도록 하고, 평가하기는 과제 해결을 위해 필요한 지식 및 기술 수준 뿐만 아니라 문제해결력, 협력적 태도의 종합적 평가 방안을 제안하였다.

  • 로봇은 지식기반사회에서의 요구하는 기초 능력과 문제해결력 함양을 위한 학습을 충족시켜줄 것으로 기대된다. 또한 로봇교육은 공학적으로 여러 기술이 관련되어 있으므로 통합적인 기초 교육이 가능하게 할 것이다. 그러나 학습 내용, 학습 방법 및 학습 교재에 대한 연구가 부족하므로 외국에서 실시하고 있는 로봇교육과정을 분석하였다. 해외 사례 분석 결과 로봇을 통해 기초 능력과 문제해결력을 함양하기 위한 교육목표를 체계적으로 달성하기 위해서는 학교 교육과정으로 운영되어야 하며 로봇의 특성과 관련된 과학, 수학, 기술, 공학의 내용 요소들을 추출하며 로봇소양에 대한 내용뿐만 아니라 로봇활용에 대한 내용으로도 구성해야 하며 로봇 창작 시스템을 이용하여 단순한 로봇 조립보다는 창작 및 프로그래밍의 과정이 이루어질 때 효과적으로 학습의 성과를 거둘 수 있을 것이다.

The Effects of Learning App Inventor Programming Education Plan for Gifted Elementary Students (초등정보영재 대상의 앱 인벤터 프로그래밍 교육의 효과)

  • Recently, the emphasis on education of informatics gifted elementary students is to make creative leader in knowledge-based society. It need the high mental faculties and problem solving ability to solve many problem situations for students. In this paper, we developed App Inventor programming education plan. We taught this plan to gifted elementary students and observed the effects of their problem solving ability, self-efficacy and achievement of programing process. In order to achieve the research goals, we designed the appropriate App Inventor programming plan for gifted elementary students and we changed the Learning Model of Renzulli's three step for gifted students to achieve this research goals. Designed learning program was utilized by twenty informatics gifted elementary students for 15 times during five weeks period. In conclusion, we confirmed that App Inventor programming education for gifted elementary students affected the problem solving ability, self-efficacy and achievement of programing process positively.

Issue Recognition and Communicative Behavior of Online Public on a Social Issue: An Application of the Situational Theory of Problem Solving on Nationwide Civil Boycott of Japanese Goods (문제해결 상황이론의 적용을 통한 온라인 공중의 사회적 쟁점인식과 커뮤니케이션 행위 분석: 한·일 관계악화에 따른 일본 불매운동 이슈를 중심으로)

  • Based on theoretical background of Situational Theory of Problem Solving(STOPS), we have examined the role of STOPS variables on a group of online public in their issue recognition and communicative behavior on Korea's nationwide civil boycott movement of Japanese goods. Results from 524 survey cases from a Korea's major online community show that two independent variables(Problem Recognition, Referent Criterion) revealed positive in their effect on mediating variable(Situational Motivation in Problem Solving). Situational Motivation also revealed positive in its effect on six dependent variables(Information Forefending, Information Permitting, Information Forwarding, Information Sharing, Information Seeking, Information Attending) of Communicative Behavior. Involvement Recognition and Constraint Recognition revealed positive without proper statistical significance. As a result, study on the case of online public in Korea supports STOPS theory as high-level of Problem Recognition and Referent Criterion effects on Communicative Behavior in positive way via Situational Motivation. Implications from the findings have discussed and proposed suggestions for government public relations and further studies.

Social Consensus among Two sides of Industry and the Government and its Implication for Disability Policy (노.사.정 사회적 합의가 장애인 복지정책에 주는 함의)

  • This research is based on the assumption that Korea's social consensus among two sides of industry and government on Feb. 2 '98 was not just temporary response to the economic crisis caused by International Monetary Fund financial fund. Some arguments on the applicability of social democracy and corporatism and D. Donnison's perspective on Democratic Socialism are employed in search of an appropriate social consensus model for Korean situation. In the process of analyzing Korean situation in historical context it becomes apparent that there is embryo of stable social consensus beyond the level of tentative social cooperation to overcome the economic crisis. The next step applying the social consensus model to the employment policy for people with disability levels up empirical and theoretical validity of this research. It casts some implications for disability labour market which demands another kind of social consensus among people with disability, employers and the government. These implications include a desirable solution for hard lives of unemployed people with disability in economic difficulties and current policy issues facing Korean government.

  • The 2015 revised curriculum aims to cultivate a 'creative fusion talent' capable of creating new knowledge and fusing various knowledge to create new value. Therefore, it is strengthening reading education to raise humanistic imagination and software education to promote scientific creativity. In addition, we have created [Safe Living] textbooks based on experiential activities as a way to strengthen safety education that is becoming a social issue. And we use it to conduct safety education at creative activity time. Novel Engineering believes that it can develop thinking skills in the process of reading books and finding and solving problems in life in them. Therefore, in this study, we will develop software education programs for safety education that are applied with Novel Engineering and apply them to actual classes to verify the educational effectiveness of students' creative problem solving skills and safety education.
