  • Nam Khane watershed, in the Northern Laos, consists of limestone plateau surrounded with steep slope(above 1000m), wide piedmont hill land(300-700m) and narrow alluvial plain. Opium on the plateau and up-land rice on the hill-side are cultivated for each, but its shifting agricultural activity, which degrades the forest and soil, has caused the serious environmental problems. MOS-1 satellite image and 40 points of soil samples are analyzed to identify the distribution of the shifting cultivation and to evaluate the environmental problems for Nam Khane watershed. The land use classification map is presented on the photo 2, and the value of each land use area by elevation level and soil property are showed on the table 2 and 3, respectively. Excessive agricultural activity of shifting cultivation in the Nam Khane watershed not only decreased the forest area, but also changed the primary forest of tree into secondary woodland of shrub. On the phase of soil property, it accelerated the soil and gully erosion, and acidification. To solve these environmental problems, the most important step is to settle the agriculture from shifting cultivation to permanent cropping.

And investigate the aspect of space change in Seokpajeong garden based on literature and painting, newspaper, photo. The results were as follows. First, Investigate the construction and change of Seokpajeong garden. Accordingly, spatial characteristics of Seokpajeong garden are classified into three period. 1st period is Kim-Heung Keun owned Samgyedong-jungsa garden. 2nd period is Daewongun hold Seokpajeong garden. 3rd period is damaged original form of Seokpajeong garden from Korean War to current time inclusive. Secondly, Kim-Heung Keun owned Samgyedong-jungsa garden has characteristics of water system centric space and many buildings. In addition accept foreign culture like chinese pavilion and Byeoldang Villa. and plant unique flower and leaf in garden. Thirdly, According to Seokpajeong garden folding screen, Daewongun owned Seokpajeong garden accept organization of space in Samgyedong garden. But different locations of Sarangchae in folding screen means possibility of move building to current position. So, additional historical research is required with representation of chinese pavilion location. Fourthly, Seokpajeong garden was damaged from original form to frequent changes of ownership. Transform of geographical features and water system as well as Anchae and Sarangchae, back side of a outbuilding are only the remained among many buildings. Also, Seokpajeong garden is more fell to the subsidiary facility of Seoul Museum than Wonrim. Therefore restoration and recovery of original form are urgent.

  • As one of the processes in the manufacturing industry, quality inspection inspects the intermediate products or final products to separate the good-quality goods that meet the quality management standard and the defective goods that do not. The manual inspection of quality in a mass production system may result in low consistency and efficiency. Therefore, the quality inspection of mass-produced products involves automatic checking and classifying by the machines in many processes. Although there are many preceding studies on improving or optimizing the process using the data generated in the production process, there have been many constraints with regard to actual implementation due to the technical limitations of processing a large volume of data in real time. The recent research studies on big data have improved the data processing technology and enabled collecting, processing, and analyzing process data in real time. This paper aims to propose the process and details of applying big data for quality inspection and examine the applicability of the proposed method to the dairy industry. We review the previous studies and propose a big data analysis procedure that is applicable to the manufacturing sector. To assess the feasibility of the proposed method, we applied two methods to one of the quality inspection processes in the dairy industry: convolutional neural network and random forest. We collected, processed, and analyzed the images of caps and straws in real time, and then determined whether the products were defective or not. The result confirmed that there was a drastic increase in classification accuracy compared to the quality inspection performed in the past.

  • Two naturalized plants belonging to Plantaginaceae and Labiatae are newly recorded for Korean flora. Nuttallanthus canadensis (L.) D. A. Sutton, a taxon of the unrecorded genus Nuttallanthus (Plantaginaceae), was founded in Seogwipo-si, Jeju-do. This species can be distinguished from the Linaria species by its corolla with a pale blue to a pale purple color, a lower lip longer than the upper lip and seed with 4-7 angles when cross-sectioned. Lamium purpureum var. hybridum (Vill.) Vill. was found in Gwangju Metropolitan city, Jeongeup-si, Jeollabuk-do and Gochang-gun, Jeollanam-do. It can be distinguished from L. purpureum L. by its irregularly dentate bracts and upper lips 3-4 mm in length. New Korean names were given, as Sol-lip-hae-rancho to Nuttallanthus canadensis (L.) D. A. Sutton and Eu-reop-gwang-dae-na-mul to Lamium purpureum var. hybridum (Vill.) Vill. In addition, their descriptions, photos, illustrations and keys to related genera and species are provided here.

  • Lateral cephalograms or 251 males md 286 females were taken and pubertal growth pattern or cranial base, maxillary and mandible of 7 to 17 years old Korean children was evaluated. 10 landmarks and 16 analytical measurements were evaluated. Analytical measurement and annual difference for each age group was calculated and tested for statistical significance. Analytical measurements were classified into three groups which were cranial base, maxillary and mandibular measurements and also classified into make and female measurements. Following results were achieved. 1. The circumpuberal growth spurt was earlier in Korean females than in males. 2. Cranial base, maxilla and mandible showed circumpuberal growth. The cranial base showed a relatively smaller amount of growth than the facial complex. 3. Middle and posterior cranial base length showed a floater increase than anterior cranial base length and circumpuberal growth spurt was also more definite. 4. the forward and downward growth or maxilla results from maxillary growht itself and transposition or the maxilla due to circumsutural growth aroud the maxilla. Ar-ANS and Ar-Pr which represent maxillary position relative to the cranial base showed more growth than ANS-PNS which represents maxillary bone growth. 5. mandible showed more vertical growth than horizontal growth but without significance. 6. Alveolar gwoth of maxilla and mandible show maximum growth rate of the time of permanent teeth eruption following loss of deciduous teeth . After this period alveolar growth shows a decreasing tendency.

  • The purpose of this study was to compare arch dimensions and frequency distribution of arch forms between Korean and Japanese Class I, II, and III malocclusion groups. Methods: The sample consisted of 368 Korean cases (114 Class I, 119 Class II, and 135 Class III malocclusion) and 160 Japanese cases (60 Class I, 50 Class II, and 50 Class III malocclusion). The most facial portion of 13 proximal contact areas was digitized from photocopied images of the mandibular dental arches. Clinical bracket slot points were calculated for each tooth based on mandibular tooth thickness data. Four linear and two proportional measurements were taken. Measurements are statistically analyzed in each malocclusion group. The dental arches were classified into square, ovoid, and tapered forms to determine and compare the frequency distributions between the two ethnic groups. Results: The findings of this study showed that Japanese females in Class I and II groups had a statistically significant narrower mandibular dental arch width compared with the Japanese males, Korean males and Korean females. But in the Class III group, there was no significant difference in the mandibular dental arch size according to the two ethnic groups and genders. Conclusions: The majority of Koreans and Japanese in all the malocclusion groups exhibited square and ovoid arch forms. The most frequent arch forms found in Koreans was square but ovoid for Japanese.

  • In this study, multi-image information for the central Taewha River basin was used to develop and analyze a distribution map of non-point pollution sources. The data were collected using a hyper-sensor (image), aerial photography, and a field spectro-radiometer. An image correction process was performed for each image to develop an ortho-image. In addition, the spectra from the field spectro-radiometer measurements were analyzed for each classification to create land cover and distribution maps of non-point pollutant sources. In the western region of the Taewha River basin, where most of the forest and agricultural land is distributed, the distribution map showed generated loads for BOD($kg/km^2{\times}day$) of 1.0 - 2.3, for TN($kg/km^2{\times}day$) of 0.06 - 9.44, and for TP($kg/km^2{\times}day$) of 0.03 - 0.24, which were low load distributions. In the eastern region where urbanization is in progress, the BOD, TN, and TP were 85.9, 13.69, and 2.76, respectively and these showed relatively high load distributions when the land use was classified by plot.
