SIR based Beam Switching in Distributed Controlled Cellular Systems (분산제어되는 셀룰라 시스템에서 SIR기반 빔 스위칭 기법)

  • SIR based beam switching in distributed controlled cellular systems is proposed to reduce intercell interference. Compared with Random beam switching that beam switching pattern is randomly selected and cannot avoid beam collision between neighboring cell, SIR based beam switching update its switching pattern based on SIR report from mobile. Neighboring cells independently update their switching patterns and the updated patterns converge to the patterns that minimize beam collision. We shows SIR base beam switching has 20% gain compared with random beam switching in two neighboring cell model.

  • In this paper, we consider the orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) based transmission incoorperating with beam-switching and space-time coding. Specifically, we consider three configurations; (1) the beamforming technique, (2) the spatial diversity technique and (3) their combination and evaluate the performance in wireless personal area network (WPAN) environment. For the beam-forming technique, we consider the beam-switching which is performed at RF front-end with a pre-defined set of beams and for the space-time coding, we consider the Alamauti scheme with antenna selection. For the combined scheme, we divide the antennas used into two group to generate two independent beams and apply the two-antenna Alamauti scheme over the two beams. For these three configurations, performance is evaluated in terms of the SNR gain.

  • 본 논문에서는 빔-호핑 위성 전송 시스템을 운용하기 위해 필수적으로 이루어져야 하는 빔 스위칭 타임 플랜 (Beam Switching Time Plan, BSTP) 동기 기법을 제안한다. 제안하는 기법은 게이트웨이의 변조 모듈에서 SF (super-frame) 신호를 전송한 후, 레퍼런스 수신 모듈에서 신호 전송 후 프레임 검출이 일어나기까지 걸리는 시간과 유효한 신호 검출 후 프레임 검출이 일어나기까지 걸리는 시간을 이용하여 BSTP 동기를 이룬다.

  • 포항가속기 연구소의 선형가속기에는 22개의 솔레노이드 전자석, 16개의 사극전자석 그리고 전자빔의 궤도 조절을 위한 16개의 2극 전자석이 있다. 선형가속기의 빔을 저장링으로 공급해주는 빔 전송선에는 22개의 사극전자석과 13개의 빔 궤도 조절용 이극 전자석이 있다. 전자빔의 정밀 제어를 위하여 전자석의 전원장치는 출력전류 분해능은 16bit 이상이고 출력전류의 안정도는 최대출력에 대하여 ${\pm}50ppm$ 이하의 고정밀 고안정도가 요구된다. 이를 위하여 풀-브릿지 4상한 DC/DC 컨버터를 이용한 전자석전원장치를 개발 하였다. 전원장치의 입력전압 직류 40V이고 출력전류는 단방향 전원장치는 최대 50A/50V 이고 양방향 전원장치는 ${\pm}20A/20V$이다. 스위칭 주파수는 50 kHz이다. 전원장치의 출력부에 필터가 없으면 출력전류에는 스윗칭과 관련된 주파수 성분이 포함 되고 전자빔은 이들 주파수 성분에 대하여 영향을 받게 된다. 이러한 이유로 출력 필터의 cut-off 주파수는 5 kHz 이하가 되어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 고정밀 고안정 스윗칭 전자석전원장치를 위한 출력필터의 설계, 제작 그리고 이를 적용한 전자석전원장치에 대하여 논의 하고자 한다.

  • In this paper, we present an efficient design scheme based on analysis of design requirements and considerations of baseband packet switch for S-band satellite/terrestrial hybrid multi-beam satellite communication systems. To establish design requirements and considerations, we analyze required functions of baseband packet switch, specifications of multi-beam satellite communications, communication services and performance requirements. And also we analyze and compare conventional layer-2 and layer-3 satellite baseband packet switching techniques, packet switching protocols and packet switch architectures, to apply from analyzed results. Finally, we propose a hardware design scheme of MPEG based layer-2 baseband packet switch using analyzed results.

Design of a 28GHz 8-Directional Switched Beamforming Antenna System Utilizing Butler Matrix (버틀러 매트릭스 기반 28GHz 8-방향 스위칭 빔포밍 안테나 시스템 설계)

  • In this paper, an 8-direction switched beamforming antenna system at 28GHz frequency band is described for 5th generation wireless communication. This system is composed of an $8{\times}8$ Butler matrix and an 8-element patch array antenna. The antenna system switches beams in 8-direction in the wide range of ${\pm}40^{\circ}$. The antenna spacing is $0.65{\lambda}$ to achieve ${\pm}40^{\circ}$ steering range. Designed results show that the 8-direction beams are placed at ${\pm}6^{\circ}$, ${\pm}17^{\circ}$, ${\pm}28^{\circ}$, ${\pm}40^{\circ}$ offset from the center. Parasitic radiation effect from the large dimension Butler matrix need to be suppressed by employing a stripline structure.

  • In this paper, we propose the beam-steering system using Rotman lens antenna operating at 2.442GHz which is to replace an expensive phase shifter. The overall system consists of the transmission antennas, Rotman lens and switch box. Setting the initial design conditions, it was designed and fabricated satisfying the requirements. From the result tested in the anechoic chamber, it was found that the beam can be steered using Rotman lens in the anechoic chamber. We also visually checked the beam-steering by turning on the LED of the rectenna showing the real-time beam receiving.

  • 오늘날 다수의 빔과 주파수를 사용하는 통신위성은 고속 디지털 신호 처리를 응용한 부채널 단위의 OBS(On-board Switching) 기술과 원하지 않는 간섭신호를 일정부분 제거하는 기능을 필요로 하게 될 전망이다. 본고에서는 위성통신 분야에서 현재 활발히 연구가 진행되고 있는 부채널 수준의 스위칭이 가능한 수동형 디지털 통신위성에 대하여 소개한다. 아울러 위성 선진국의 디지털 통신위성 개발 현황, 부채널 증폭 및 스위칭을 위한 소요기술, 그리고 간섭신호 제거가 가능한 디지털 통신위성 기술에 대하여 기술한다.
