Base Station Antenna of Radiation Pattern for the Cruciform using Monopole Array (도심지 교차로 지형에 맞는 방사패턴 형성을 위한 기지국용 모노폴 어레이 안테나)

  • In this paper, cruciform radiation pattern antenna was designed and fabricated. The fabricated antenna is applicable to intersections which is composed of four eight-lane roads each having 60 m of width and 200 m of length. The design theory was based on Woodward-Lawson method and the 6 monopole elements with the strip feeding network are made by linear array on the micro-strip board. In the results, - 13.5 dB of return loss and 120 MHz(6 %) of -10 dB bandwidth were obtained at the 2 GHz. Also, at 1.95 GHz, -6 dB of gain fall was seen at $\pm$45$^{\circ}$ and thus, it is possible to say that the presented antenna has well-shaped cruciform radiation pattern.

A Study on Mobile Antenna System Design with Tri-band Operation for Broadband Satellite Communications and DBS Reception (광대역 위성 통신/방송용 삼중 대역 이동형 안테나 시스템 설계에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, it is described about the tri-band mobile antenna system design to provide broadband multimedia and direct broadcasting services using goo-stationary Koreasat 3, simultaneously operated in Ka/K/Ku band. The radiating part of the antenna system with a fan beam characteristic in the elevation plane is composed of the quasi-offset dual shaped reflector and the tri-band feeder. The tri-band feeder is also composed of the Ka/K dual band feeder with the protruding dielectric rod, the circular polarizer, the ortho-mode transducer and the circular-polarized Ku band feed array. Especially, the Ka/K dual band circular polarizer was realized firstly using the comb-type structure. For fast satellite-tracking on the movement, the Ku band feed array has the structure of the $2{\times}2$ active phased array which can make electrical beams. And, the circular-polarized characteristic in the feed array was improved by $90^{\circ}$ rotating arrangement of four radiating elements polarized circularly by a $90^{\circ}$ hybrid coupler, respectively. Four beam forming channels to make electrical beams at Ku band are divided into the main beam channel and the tracking beam channel in the output, and noise temperature characteristics of each channel were analyzed on the basis of the contributions of internal sub_units. From the fabricated antenna system, the output power at $P_{1dBc}$ of Ka_Tx channel was measured more than 34.1 dBm and the measured noise figures of K/Ku_Rx channels were less than 2.4 dB and 1.5 dB, respectively, over the operating band. The radiation patterns with co- and cross-polarization in the tri-band were measured using a near-field measurement in the anechoic chamber. Especially, Ku radiation patterns were measured after correcting each initial phase of active channels with partial radiation patterns obtained from the independent excitation of each channel. The antenna gains measured in Ka/K/Ku band of the antenna system were more than 39.6 dBi, 37.5 dBi, 29.6 dBi, respectively. And, the antenna system showed good system performances such as Ka_Tx EIRP more than 43.7 dBW and K/Ku_Rx G/T more than 13.2 dB/K and 7.12 dB/K, respectively.

The Multi-objective Optimal Design of Thermopile Sensor Having Beam or Membrane Structure (빔 혹은 멤버레인 구조를 가지는 써모파일 센서의 다목적 최적설계)

  • This paper presents the multi-objective optimal design of thermopile sensor having beam or membrane structure. The thermopile sensor is composed of $Si_{3}N_{4}/SiO_{2}$ dielectric membrane, Al-polysilicon thermocouples and $RuO_{2}$ thin film for black body. The sensing method is based on the Seebeck effect which is originated from the temperature difference of the two positions, black body and silicon rim. The objective functions of the presented design are sensitivity, detectivity and thermal time constant. The modelling of the sensor is proposed including the package. The multi-objective optimization technique is applied to the design of the sensor not only inspecting the modelling equation but also simulating mathematical programming method. Especially, fuzzy optimization technique is adapted to get the optimal solution which enables the designer to reach the more practical solution. The design constraint of the voltage output originated from the change of the environmental temperature is included for practical use.

Signal-Subspace-Based Simple Adaptive Array and Performance Analysis (신호 부공간에 기초한 간단한 적응 어레이 및 성능분석)

  • Adaptive arrays reject interferences while preserving the desired signal, exploiting a priori information on its arrival angle. Subspace-based adaptive arrays, which adjust their weight vectors in the signal subspace, have the advantages of fast convergence and robustness to steering vector errors, as compared with the ones in the full dimensional space. However, the complexity of theses subspace-based methods is high because the eigendecomposition of the covariance matrix is required. In this paper, we present a simple subspace-based method based on the PASTd (projection approximation subspace tracking with deflation). The orignal PASTd algorithm is modified such that eigenvectora are orthogonal to each other. The proposed method allows us to significantly reduce the computational complexity, substantially having the same performance as the beamformer with the direct eigendecomposition. In addition to the simple beamforming method, we present theoretical analyses on the SINR (signal-to-interference plus noise ratio) of subspace beamformers to see their behaviors.

Performance improvement of underwater target distance estimation using blind deconvolution and time of arrival method (블라인드 디컨볼루션 및 time of arrival 기법을 이용한 수중 표적 거리 추정 성능 향상 기법)

  • Accurate distance measurement between maneuver target in underwater and measuring devices is required to perform quantitative test evaluation in marine weapons system R&D process. In general, the target distance is measured using a one-way ToA (Time of Arrival) method that calculates the time difference between transmitted and received signals from the two accurately synchronized devices. However, the distance estimation performance is degraded because of the multi-path environments. In this paper, the time-variant transfer function of complex underwater environment is estimated from each received data frame using RBD (Ray-based Blind Deconvolution), and the estimated time-variant transfer function is then used to get rid of the effect about complex underwater environment and to recover the data signal using PTRM (Passive Time Reversal Mirror). The result from the simulation and experimental data show that the suggested method improve the distance estimation performance when comparing with the conventional ToA method.

A Study on the Characteristics of MgO Thin Films Prepared by Electron Beam (전자빔 증착법에 의해 형성된 MgO 박막의 증착 및 특성)

  • The growth characteristics on the MgO thin films prepared by the e-beam evaporation method have been investigated. We observed the film of preferred orientation and surface morphology with various parameters such as substrate temperature, deposition rate on Si(100) and slide glass respectively. Consequently, it was shown that MgO(111) preferred orientation films can be obtained as the deposition rate was increased on Si(100) substrate. MgO(220) peak was found as the substrate temperature was increased. Whereas, in case of slide glass the orientation is changed from (200) to (111) by substrate temperature. Also we investigated the relationship between the film characteristics and the orientation of MgO thin films.

  • 대부분의 국내 다목적 댐은 유역면적이 넓고 강우기 집중강우로 인하여 유입되는 입자성 물질이 상당히 많은 편이며, 영양염의 증가로 인하여 저수지내부에서 발생되는 입자성 물질도 많다. 이로 인하여 호소에는 외부에서 유입된 무기$\cdot$유기성 입자와 내부 생성된 유기성 물질들이 장기간 축적되어 저수지 용량이 줄어든다. 본 연구에서는 저수지 퇴적물 상태를 탐사하는 효율적인 조사기법을 제시하고자 한다. 퇴적물 탐사기법에는 탄성파탐사 등을 이용하는 간접적인 방법과 코아를 이용하는 직접적인 방법, 퇴적층 동위원소 분석 기법 등이 있으며, 이러한 기법에 대한 기본원리 및 특성, 효용성 등을 평가하고 현장에 적합한 방법을 실제 적용하였다. 퇴적물 분포를 조사하기 위하여 먼저 다중빔(MBES)을 이용한 정밀 지형조사를 실시하였으며 이를 통하여 호저지형의 특징을 간접적으로 평가할 수 있었다. 직접적인 조사방법으로 gravity corer를 사용하여 몇 개의 지점을 sampling하였으며, 잠수부가 직접 핸드코아링를 실시하여 퇴적층을 측정하였다. 16지점에서 실시한Gravity core 결과 세 곳의 조사 정점에서 최대 70cm 두께의 퇴적층이 중력식 시추기에 의해 획득되었으며 다른 정점에서는 50cm, 20cm가 시추되었고 그 나머지 지점에서는 퇴적물이 채취되지 않았다. 이는 퇴적층이 얇아 코아가 쓰러지거나 시료채취가 되지 않은 것으로 판단되었다. 잠수부가 hand corer를 이용한 시료 채취시에 채취된 시료의 퇴적층은 각 지점별로 덕치리 25cm, 경계지점 25cm, 우산리 지점 45cm로 조사되었다. 납-210(반감기 22.3년)을 이용하여 최근에 형성된 주암댐 호수저 퇴적물 중 퇴적작용 이후 교란을 받지 않은 지역의 시추 시료를 대상으로 퇴적속도를 구하였다. 주암호에서 취한 코아퇴적물 시료는 현장에서 냉동하여 실험실에서 약 2cm 간격으로 절단하여 절단체 별로 동위원소 분석을 실시하였다. $^{210}Pb$의 농도는 grand-daughter인 $^{210}Po$를 측정함 후 감마분석에 의하여 구하였다. CF:CS 연령모델을 적용한 결과 깊이에 따른 supported $^{210}Pb$와 퇴적 속도는 0.91cm/year 인 것으로 산정 되었다.

Drone Location Tracking with Circular Microphone Array by HMM (HMM에 의한 원형 마이크로폰 어레이 적용 드론 위치 추적)

  • In order to reduce the threat by illegal unmanned aerial vehicles, a tracking system based on sound was implemented. There are three main points to the drone acoustic tracking method. First, it scans the space through variable beam formation to find a sound source and records the sound using a microphone array. Second, it classifies it into a hidden Markov model (HMM) to find out whether the sound source exists or not, and finally, the sound source is In the case of a drone, a sound source recorded and stored as a tracking reference signal based on an adaptive beam pattern is used. The simulation was performed in both the ideal condition without background noise and interference sound and the non-ideal condition with background noise and interference sound, and evaluated the tracking performance of illegal drones. The drone tracking system designed the criteria for determining the presence or absence of a drone according to the improvement of the search distance performance according to the microphone array performance and the degree of sound pattern matching, and reflected in the design of the speech reading circuit.

Investigation of Proton Irradiated Effect on n, p type Silicon by Positron Annihilation Method (양전자 소멸 측정에 의한 n, p형 실리콘 구조 특성)

  • It is described that the proton beam induceds micro-size defects and electronic deep levels in n or p type single crystal silicon. Positron lifetime and Coincidence Doppler Broadening Positron Annihilation Spectroscopy were applied to study of characteristics of p type and n type silicon samples. In this investigation the numerical analysis of the Doppler spectra was employed to the determination of the shape parameter, S, defined as the ratio between the amount of counts in a central portion of the spectrum and the total counts of whole spectrum. The samples were exposed by 3.98 MeV proton beams ranging between 0 to ${\sim}10^{14}$ particles. The S-parameter values strongly depend on the irradiated proton beam, that indicated the defects generate more. Positron lifetime shows that positrons trapped in vacancies and lifetime ${\tau}_2$ increased according to proton irradiation.

TPMS Interference Suppression Based on Beamforming (Beamforming을 이용한 TPMS 간섭제거)

  • The TPMS(Tire Pressure Monitoring System) is an electronic system designed to display the air pressure inside the pneumatic tires and report real-time tire-pressure information to the driver of the vehicle, either via a gange, a pictogram display, or a simple low-pressure warning light. Although the data measured by TPMS sensor is transmitted to internal signal processer in a vehicle through wireless communication, the receiver may suffers from various interferences such as amateur radio station, RFID(Radio-Frequency IDentification) for controlling container, RKE(Remote Keyless Entry) signal, and so on. In this paper, we consider beamforming technology to suppress various high-power interference signals for the TPMS wireless communications. Also, we propose the proper data structure and antenna arrangement for the beamformer inside the vehicle. The performance for the interference suppression is illustrated by computer simulation example.
