  • This paper presents theoretical analyses for unstable vibrations caused by the couple of bending and torsion in a rotating shaft driven through a universal joint. A driving shaft is assumed to be rigid and to rotate with a constant angular velocity. The driven shaft system consists of a flexible shaft with a circular section and a symmetrical rotor attached at a point between the shaft ends. Equations of motion derived hold with an accuracy of the second order of shaft deformations, and are analyzed by the asymptotic method. The vibrations become unstable when the driving shaft rotates with the angular velocity to be approximately equal to half of the sum of the natural frequencies for whirling and torsional vibrations.

비대칭 고층건물의 내풍 및 제진 해석 (Control of Asymmetrical Tall Buildings under Wind Loading)

  • 고층건물의 설계에 있어서 지진보다 바람에 의한 영향이 더욱 크므로 바람에 의한 건물의 안전성과 거주성등을 검토하는 것이 중요하다. 이러한 내풍해석은 모형 실험을 통하여 그 결과를 예측할 수 있으나 본 연구에서는 수치해석의 모형 개발에 중점을 두어 변동 풍하중의 3차원 모델과 건물 평면의 비대칭성을 고려하여 동조질량감쇠기를 설치하였을 때의 건물의 진동 성능을 분석하고 있다. 건물의 질량과 강성중심이 일치하지 않아 횡변위와 비틀림이 연계되는 102층의 건물을 예로 들어 내풍해석 및 동조질량감쇠기를 설치하였을 때 진동제어 해석을 수행하여 건물의 변위와 가속도의 평균응답을 구하여 결과를 비교하였다.

  • 로터-베어링축계는 증기및 가스터빈, 터보 발전기, 압축기등 거의 모든 산업 기계류에서 동력 전달의 기본 도구로써 사용되고 있다. 즉 회전에 의한 동력 의전달은 비교적 간단히 대용량의 동력을 효율적으로 전달할 수 있다. 이에 따라 회전기계류에 대한 연구는 산업 혁명 이후 꾸준히 발전되어 온바, 특히 근래에 들어와 산업기계류의 경쟁이 치열하여짐에 따라 산업기계류의 고정 밀화, 고속화, 고신뢰화 요구가 증대하고 있는 현실을 비추어 볼때, 산업 기 계류의 근간을 이루고 있는 로터-베어링 축계의 안정성을 포함한 진동에 관 한 문제는 회전기계류 설계의 주요 기술로써 연구.개발의 필요성이 매우 높 다 하겠다. 회전축계 진동 관련 연구는 두 분야로 대별될 수 있는데 언밸런 스(Unbalance)에 의한 Synchronous진동과 여러가지 원인에 의해 계의 불안 정성을 유발시키는 Nonsynchronous진동으로 나눌 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 이들 연구의 기본이 되는 회전축-베어링계 동특성 해석 프로그램을 개발하 였다. 여러가지 방법이 있으나 여기서는 Holzer가 비틀림 진동에 적용하고, Mykiestad(2)와 Prohl(3)에 의하여 회전축의 횡 진동에 적용된 이후 Lund(4) 등에 의하여 베어링의 영향등이 첨가된 전달 매트릭스 (Transfer Matrix) 방 법을 이용하여 임계속도(Critical Speed), 모우드 형태(Mode shapes)를 예측 하고 불안정 판정(Instability Criteria)등을 할 수 있는 프로그램을 개발하였 다. 특히 Murphy(1)의 다항식 방법(Polynomial Method)에 기본을 두어 기존 의 전달 매트릭스가 가지고 있던 반복, 수렴 시간 문제와 빠뜨리는 임계속도 예측에 대한 개선을 이루었으며 기존 논문과 실험 결과와의 비교 검토를 통 하여 개발된 프로그램의 신뢰성을 검토하였다. 특히, 각종 회전 기계의 소형 화, 경량화 추세에 따라 지반이나 케이싱이 경량이거나 유연하여 회전축과 동적으로 연성된 경우 회전축-베어링-지반으로 이루어진 2중구조의 회전축 계 동특성을 해석할 수 있는 프로그램을 개발하므로서 회전 기계류의 진동 전반에 걸친 문제점에 대한 그 원인과 현상을 명확히 분석하여 국내의 전기 계류의 보다 신뢰성있는 설계 및 제작자료를 확보하는데 기여할 수 있게 하 였다.

회전체의 비틀림 고유진동 해석 (Analysis of Torsional Natural Viibration Characteristics of Rotors)

  • A method to estimate the torsional critical speed for practical rotors has been developed in this study. First, the rotor with a uniform shaft segment is modeled for undamped torsional motion analysis, while satisfying all the boundary conditions. This eventually generates governing equations for the torsional critical speeds of the system. The set of governing equations has the form of a sparse and banded matrix. The elements of banded matrix can be arranged in partitions, which correspond to the specific boundary of the rotor. This permits an automatic generation of the system matrix using a computer. In order to calculate the determinant generated by the simultaneous equations, which leads to the torsional critical speed, a recurring numerical algorithm for a (3*4) sub-matrix has been used. This numerical algorithm practically examines successive (3*4) sub-matrix, one at a time, instead of treating a huge matrix. The output of the program provides the mode shapes with continuous curves. The method has been implemented to three rotors given as examples : a simple rotor, Prohl's rotor, and Macmillan rotor.

디젤기관 추진축계의 연성진동에 관한 연구 (제2보: 강제 감쇠 연성진동 해석) (Studies on Coupled Vibrations of Diesel Engine Propulsion Shafting (2nd Report : Analyzing of Forced Vibration with Damping))

  • With the results of calculation for natural frequencies, the forced reponses of coupled vibration of propulsion shafting were analysed by the modal analysis method. For the forced response analysis, axial exciting forces, axial damper/detuner, propeller exciting forces and damping coefficients were extensively investigated. As the conclusion of this study, some items are cleared as next. - The torsional amplitudes are not influenced by the radial excitation forces. - The axial vibrational amplitudes are influenced by the tangential exciting forces. An increase of amplitude is observed for the speed range in the neighbourhood of any torsional critical speed. - The coupling effect becomes larger if torsional and axial critical speed are closer together. - The axial exciting force of propeller is relatively strong, comparing with those of axial forces of cylinder gas pressure and oscillating inertia of reciprocating mechanism. Therefore, as a resume one can say, that- Torsional vibration calculation with the classical one dimension model is still valid. - The influence of torsional excitation at each crank upon the axial vibration is impotent, especially in the neighbourhood of a torsional critical speed. That means that the calculation of axial vibration with the classical one dimension model is insufficient in most of cases. - The torsional exciting torque of propeller can be neglected in most of cases. But, the axial exciting forces of propeller can not be neglected for calculating axial vibration of propulsion shafting.

기어이의 변동물림강성을 고려한 비틀림진동해석 (Torsional Vibration Analysis of a Spur Gear Pair with the Variable Mesh Stiffness)

  • A four-degree-of-freedom non-linear model with time varying mesh stiffness has been developed for the dynamic analysis of spur gear trains. The model includes a spur gear pair, two shafts, two inertias representing load and prime mover. In the model, developed several factors such as time varying mesh stiffness and damping, separation of teeth, teeth collision, various gear errors and profile modifications have been considered. Two computer programs are developed to calculate stiffness of a gear pair and transmission error and the dynamic analysis of modeled system using time integration method. Dynamic tooth and mesh forces, dynamic factors are calculated. Numerical examples have been given, which shows the time varying mesh stiffness ha a significant effect upon the dynamic tooth force and torsional vibrations.

  • In this paper bolt-tightened Langevin type vibrator was designed using longitudinal-torsional vibration. These two vibrations make rotary displacement at the end of the vibrator. ANSYS was used to determine shape and dimension of the vibrator in addition to resonant frequency, displacement and stress distribution. This kind of vibrator can be applied for a brakeless and gearless rotary motor which has high torque at low speed.

고속엔진축계용 점성 비틀림진동감쇠기의 성능해석 및 실험 (A Performance Analysis and Experiment of Viscous Torsional Vibration Damper for High Speed Engine Shaft System)

  • In general, crankshafts which are used in internal combustion reciprocating engines are subjects to high torsional vibration. Therefore, a damper is often used to minimize the torsional vibration in reciprocating engines. In this paper, in order to investigate damping performance of viscous damper, the real effective viscosity and complex damping coefficient of silicone oil, and the effective inertia moment of inertia ring are calculated considering the relative motion between damper casing and inertia ring. Based on these results multi-cylinder shaft is modeled into equivalent 2-degree of freedom system and optimum condition is estimated by calculating the amplification factor of viscous damper. Also the test damper was manufactured according to the result of theoretical investigation, the performance and durability was ascertained through experimental examination.

  • A simplified modeling approach of forced vibration for occupied car seats was demonstrated by using a mathematical model presented in previous paper. Nonlinear and linear equations of motions were rederived for forced vibration, and the transfer function was used to calculate the frequency response function. The experimental apparatus were set up and hydraulic shaker was used to obtain the system responses. Through the tests, mannequin's head had a lot of problems, and the responses with a head and without a head were measured. To explore the effects of linear dampings and friction moments at the joints, linear analyses were performed. New sets of linear spring and damping coefficients, and torsional dampings at the joints were calculated through parameter study to match up with experimental results. Good agreement between experimental and simulation frequency response estimates were obtained both in terms of locations of resonances and system deflection shapes at resonance, indicating that this is a feasible method of modeling seated occupants.

  • The torsional and axial vibrations of shaft system have been calculated independently because of both the limitation of computing time and the complexity of crankshaft model. In actual system, however, the torsional and axial vibrations are coupled. Therefore, in recent, many works in the coupled vibration analysis have been done to find out the more exact dynamic behavior of shaft system. The crankshaft model is very important in the vibration analysis of shaft system because most of excitation forces act on the crankshaft. It is, however, difficult to establish an exact model of crankshaft since its shape is very complex. In this work, an efficient method is proposed to construct the stiffness matrix of crankshaft using a finite element model of half crankthrow. The proposed and existing methods are compared by applying to both a simple thick beam with circular cross section and an actual crankshaft.
