  • Recently, wireless networking devices that depend on the limited Battery and power-saving of wireless hosts became important issue. Batteries can provide a finite amount of energy, therefore, to increase battery lifetime, it is important to design techniques to reduce energy consumption by wireless hosts. This paper improved power saying mechanism in Distributed Coordination Function(DCF) of IEEE 802.11. In the IEEE 802.11 power saving mechanism specified for DCF, time is divided into so-called beacon intervals. At the start of each beacon interval, each node in the power saving mode periodically wakes up during duration called the ATIM Window. The nodes are required to be synchronized to ensure that all nodes wake up at the same time. During the ATIM window, the nodes exchange control packets to determine whether they need to stay awake for the rest of the beacon interval. The size of the ATIM window has considerably affected power-saving. This paper can provide more power-saving than IEEE 802.11 power saving mode because ATIM window size is efficiently increased or decreased.

  • 최근 무선 네트워킹 장치들이 등장 하면서 제한된 배터리에 의존하는 무선 호스트들의 전력 절감은 중요한 이슈가 되었다. 특히 Ad­Hoc에서 배터리는 제한된 에너지를 제공하기 때문에 무선 호스트에 의해서 소모되어지는 에너지의 양을 감소시키기 위한 기술은 대단히 중요하다. 특히 MAC 과 라우팅 에서 전력 절감을 이루기 위한 논문들이 기존에 발표 되었다. 이 논문에서는 IEEE 802.11 표준의 DCF (Distributed Coordination Function) 에서의 전력 절감 메카니즘을 향상 시킨 논문 이다. DCF를 위한 IEEE 802.11 전력 절감 메카니즘에서는 비콘 간격 이라는 시간으로 나누어지며 또한 이러한 각각의 비콘 간격이 시작될 때 각각의 노드들은 ATIM 창 동안 깨어 있어야 한다. 물론 모든 노드는 같은 시간에 깨어 있기 위해서는 동기화 되는 것이 필요하다. ATIM 창 동안 노드들은 비콘 기간 동안 깨어 있는 상태로 있을 것인지를 결정하기 위해서 control packet을 교환 한다. 이러한 ATIM 창 크기는 각각의 노드들의 전력절감에 상당한 영향을 미친다. 따라서 이 논문은 ATIM 창 크기를 동적으로 증감시켜서 보다 에너지 효율을 발휘 하고자 하는 논문이다.

Design and Implementation of Response type of Flickering Green Signal System using Beacon Message (비콘메세지를 이용한 반응형 녹색점멸 신호시스템 설계 및 구현)

  • As a domestic traffic control signal system, either the system with which a traffic signal turns into green at regular intervals or the system with which an amber or a red signal flickers on local roads without heavy traffic at midnight has been utilized. However, when the former system is used for roads with light traffic at midnight, delays and congestion can be incurred. Besides, in case of the latter signal system, the risk of vehicle crash is high. This study proposes a response type of flickering green signal system that rearranges signal system after analyzing beacon messages including sensor data. The proposed system, on a trunk road or a branch road at midnight, makes the signal keep flickering in green; When a vehicle enters the range of RSE, the transfer coverage, it transmits beacon messages regularly and Agent System analyzes the messages and alters the signal. It is a system by which vehicles move following the altered signal system, which will not only ensure smooth flow but also prevent vehicles from crashing on a road with light traffic. As a result of a simulation, traffic throughput and the average waiting time displayed 10 to 30 percent better improvement than existing signal systems, in terms of performance.

  • The mobile radio networks can be divided into networks that has the base station or the infrastructures like AP(Access Point) and Ad Hoc network that hasn't any infrastructures. As there aren't any fixed infrastructures in Ad Hoc Networks, mobile nodes should transmit the data only among mobile nodes themselves. To supplement these weakpoints of the two networks, many studies about Ad Hocs based on the 802.11 are in progress. In this thesis, we try to propose the efficiency of the suggested protocols by comparing and analyzing power saving protocols according to the Beacon intervals in multi hop Ad Hoc Networks based on IEEE 802.11.

  • WAVE 표준의 채널 구조는 하나의 제어 채널(CCH)과 여러 개의 서비스 채널(SCH)로 나뉜다. SCH 는 비안전 데이터 전송을 위해 사용되며 CCH 는 비콘 및 제어 메시지(즉, 서비스 광고 메시지)의 브로드캐스팅을 위해 사용된다. 두 간격 모두 표준에서 고정된 값(50ms)으로 설정되어 있다. 그러나 고정 길이 간격은 동적으로 변화하는 트래픽 부하에 대해 효과적으로 대응할 수 없다. 또한, 많은 차량이 동시에 제한된 채널 자원을 사용하여 데이터를 전송할 때 수많은 패킷 충돌로 인해 통신 성능이 크게 저하된다. 본 논문에서는 네트워크 성능을 향상하기 위한 적응적 자원 할당 기법을 제안한다.

  • Children should be provided with the right to be protected by adults, related organizations, or countries because they lack power, situation recognition ability, and situation judgment ability compared to adults. Also, children's accidents and accidents caused by neglect of management occur every year. Currently, there are about 3 to 20 children managed by one teacher in a daycare center, and it is very difficult for teachers to care for all children as many children have to be managed. Especially, when outdoor activities are conducted in open space, children's activities are expanded compared to the in-house, and children who do not follow the control of the in-house teacher may occur, so there is a limit to the control and management of children depending on the viewpoint of teachers. In this study, we designed and implemented IoT terminal and system to provide safety to children and to provide convenience to guardians and teachers by systemizing the location or interval between children and in-service teachers using portable devices that can communicate with each other. It is hoped that this will contribute to the safety of infants.
