Load Sharing Ratio of Raft in Piled Raft on Granular Soils by Model Test (모형실험에 의한 조립토 지반에 설치된 말뚝지지 전면기초에서 래프트의 하중분담률)

  • This study was undertaken in order to investigate the load bearing capacity of raft in a piled raft through the laboratory model tests, the numerical and analytical analyses. The model tests were conducted about a piled raft, the free-standing pile group, a single pile, as well as a shallow foundation under equal conditions. The pile spacing and length, group type and soil conditions were varied in the laboratory model tests. The experimental results were compared with those by the commercial program, DEFPIG, conventional methods and Phung's method. According to this study, the behavior of piled raft was affected by pile spacing, length and soil conditions. Phung's method proved to be reliable for estimating the experimental results.

  • A new method for the electrostatic suspension of disk-shaped objects is proposed which is based on a time-optimal control scheme and deploys only high-voltage power supplies that can deliver dc voltages of positive and/or negative polarity. This method possesses the unique feature that no high-voltage amplifiers are needed which leads to a remarkable system simplification and objects can be suspended stably even in vacuum environment. Using this scheme, an aluminium disk used in a 3.5-inch HDD was suspended stably at an airgap of 0.3mm.

  • 자기 베어링 시스템은 축과 베어링간의 자기적 힘을 이용하여 축을 비접촉으로 지지함으로써 고속으로 회전하는 회전체의 마찰손을 저감시킨다. 고속 회전체에 편심(Eccentricity)이 있을 경우 편심 질량으로 인한 원심력이 속도의 제곱에 비례하여 발생하게 되고, 축을 지지하고 있는 베어링에 과도한 진동을 유발하게 된다. 베어링에 전해지는 진동이 커지게 되면 진동 자체도 문제일 뿐 아니라 베어링이 부담해야 하는 힘의 크기가 커지게 되어 자기 베어링 및 이를 구동하는 전력전자 기기의 용량을 증가시켜야 하는 문제가 있다. 본 논문에서는 베어링의 지지력을 능동적으로 제어하는 능동 자기 베어링을 사용하여 축의 편심 질량의 크기 및 편심 위치를 파악하고 회전 관성 중심점으로 축을 회전시킴으로써 회전 진동을 저감하는 방법을 제안하고, 실험 결과로써 제안된 방법의 타당성을 검증한다.

A Study on the Contactless Transportation of Electrostatically-suspended Plates (정전기력에 의해 지지된 판상체의 비접촉반송에 관한 연구)

  • There is a strong demand fur the contactless transportation device fur a hard disk and silicon wafer without contaminating and damaging them. To fulfill this requirements, A transportation device fur them has been proposed. But the device needs many of costly displacement sensors positioned along the transportation interval and possesses a very complicated controller and driving scheme. To overcome those kinds of drawback, in this paper, we present a very simple and cost-effective transportation device which only consists of a linear guide, very simple electrostatic suspension system and driving circuit of stepping motor. The principle of stable suspension by relay feedback control, derivation of lateral restoring force, the design of transportation system are described, fellowed by the experimental system. Experimental results show that a 3.5-inch hard disk has been transported with a speed of approximately 20mm/s while being suspended stably at a gap of 0.25mm.

  • A design and control of electrostatic suspension system for flexible objects is presented. A number of electrode pairs of which the number depends on the object flexibility are positioned above the object and the voltages applied to each electrode pair are controlled, independently on the others, on the basis of the gap length. To implement the system with low cost and compactness, switched-voltage control scheme that is based on the relay feedback control is utilized. Relay feedback control method deploys only a single high-voltage power supply that can deliver a DC voltage of positive and/or negative polarity and thus high voltage amplifiers that are costly and bulky are not needed any more. It is shown that despite the inherent limit cycle property of the relay feedback based control, an excellent performance in vibration suppression is attained due to the presence of a relatively large squeeze film damping originating from the electrodes and levitated object. Employing fourteen electrode pairs, a thin aluminum plate with a thickness of 0.1 mm has been suspended at a gap length of 0.75mm.

  • In the manufacture of flat panel display devices, there is a strong demand for contactless glass panel handling devices that can manipulate a glass panel without contaminating or damaging it. To fulfill this requirement, an electrostatic suspension device far glass panels where the glass panel is supported by electrostatic forces without any mechanical contact is proposed. To implement the system with low cost and compactness, switched-voltage control scheme that is based on the relay feedback control is utilized. Relay feedback control method deploys only a single high-voltage power supply that can deliver a DC voltage of positive and/or negative polarity and thus high voltage amplifiers that are costly and bulky are not needed any more.   • In this study, the large scale model tests were executed to estimate the Load Sharing Ratio (LSR) of raft in a piled footing under various conditions. The conditions such as the subsoil type, pile length, pile spacing, away type and pile installation method etc. were varied in the pile loading tests about the free-standing group piles and a piled footing. As a result of this study, it was found that there was no difference in the load-settlement curves, resulting from the pile installation method and subsoil type. The piles supported most of the external load until a yielding load of the piled footing, but the raft supported a considerable load after a yielding load. As the relative density of sands increased, the LSR decreased. As the pile spacing was wider and the pile length increased, there was a tendancy for the LSR to increase. But it was also found that the LSR was not affected by the pile installation method and the subsoil type.
