A Study on Velocity-Log Conductivity, Velocity-Head Cross Covariances in Aquifers with Nonstationary Conductivity Fields (비정체형 지하대수층의 속도-대수투수계수, 속도-수두 교차공분산에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, random flow field in a nonstationary porous formation is characterized through cross covariances of the velocity with the log conductivity and the head. The hydraulic head and the velocity in saturated aquifers are found through stochastic analysis of a steady, two-dimensional flow field without recharge. Expression for these cross covariances are obtained in quasi-analytic forms all in terms of the parameters which characterize the nonstationary conductivity field and the average head gradient. The cross covariances with a Gaussian correlation function for the log conductivity are presented for two particular cases where the trend is either parallel or perpendicular to the mean head gradient and for separation distances along and across the mean flow direction. The results may be of particular importance in transport predictions and conditioning on field measurements when the log conductivity field is suspected to be nonstationary and also serve as a benchmark for testing nonstationary numerical codes. A Study on the Application of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastics to PTO Shafts for Aircrafts (탄소섬유 강화 복합재료의 항공기용 PTO 샤프트 적용에 관한 연구)

  • This paper aims to improve the critical speed of power-take-off (PTO) shafts by using carbon fiber reinforced plastics (CFRPs). The PTO shaft was designed with titanium-CFRPs hybrid structure in order to compensate the low shear strength of CFRPs. Based on the requirements for PTO shafts, the dimensions of PTO shafts were determined through a parametric study. To evaluate the performance of the PTO shaft, a vibration test, a static torsion test, and a torsion durability test were performed. In the vibration test, the critical speed of PTO shafts was 20570 rpm, which was 7.5% higher than that of titanium shafts. Additionally, it was confirmed that the maximum allowable torque of the PTO shaft was 2300 N·m. Finally, under repeated load in the range of 11.3 to 113 N·m, the fatigue failure in the PTO shaft did not occur up to 106 cycles.

  • Pumping characteristics of a turbomolecular pump are influenced by interrelations of the down-stream and upstream pumping speeds (transmission probabilityxaperture conductance), and of gas flow rates (pumping speedxentrance pressure) in two directions. The pumping speed, one of the most important items characterized the performance of a pump, is given by dividing the net flow rate, that is, the difference between the counter flow rates by the pressure at the pumping port. The maximum compression ratio is defined as the ratio of the downstream pumping speed to the upstream one. Because these directional characteristics affect each other and are functions of the pressures of both sides, it is difficult to distinguish the relevant factors. However, quasi-quantitative analyses on them can be done if considering carefully the results of measuring the pumping speed and the maximum compression ratio.

  • The effects of uniaxial drawing conditions on the molecular orientation of poly (ethylene 2,6-naphthalate) (PEN) are investigated. Birefringence measurements show that the orientation is significantly enhanced at high draw ratio, low drawing temperature, and fast drawing speed. The characteristics of orientation examined by FTIR- ATR dichroism method represent almost same results. Amorphous orientation function increases with drawing rate at $120^{\circ}C$, but it decreases with drawing rate at $141^{\circ}C$. These behaviors can be explained with the relation between crystallization and chain relaxation rates. It is observed that the orientation of PEN film is accompanied by significant alignment of the naphthalene rings of PEN parallel to the film surface.

  • Twofish cryptographic algorithm is concise algorithm itself than Rijndael cryptographic algorithm as AES, and easy of implementation is good, but the processing speed has slow shortcoming. Therefore this paper designed improved MDS block to improve Twofish cryptographic algorithm's speed. Problem of speed decline by a bottle-neck Phenomenon of the Processing speed existed as block that existing MDS block occupies Twofish cryptosystem's critical path. To reduce multiplication that is used by operator in MDS block this Paper removed a bottle-neck phenomenon and low-speed about MDS itself using LUT operation and modulo-2 operation. Twofish cryptosystem including modified MDS block designed by these result confirmed that bring elevation of the processing speed about 10$\%$ than existing Twofish cryptosystem.

  • The swelling index of clayey soil was examined by constant rate of strain(CRS) consolidation test. Four kinds of strain rate were applied during unloading. The strain rates are l/l, l/5, 1/10, l/l 5 of loading. The strain rates during loading are 0.05%/min and 0.03%/min. From the test results using standard consolidometer, the swelling indexes were much similar values in case of 1/5 or 1/10 of the strain rate during loading stage. In the relation between effective stress and excess pore water pressure ratio, it was found that the existence of cross point and the stress level can be separated into two zones according to the swelling index.

  • Internal solitary waves between two-stratified fluid layers are examined. Hamilton's principle is used to derive a governing equation. The wave speed-wave height relation is obtained and this agrees well with the experiment. The wave profiles obtained also agree well with the experimental result. There exist minimum and maximum wave speeds depending on the depth ratio and the density ratio of two layers. The KdV equation overpredicts the wave speed for a given wave height and underpredict the wave height for a given wave speed.

  • An experimental study of the flame response in a turbulent premixed combustor has been conducted in order to investigate mechanisms for combustion instabilities in a lean premixed gas turbine combustor. A lab-scale combustor and mixing section system were fabricated to measure the flame transfer function. Measurements are made of the velocity fluctuation in the nozzle using hot wire anemometry and of the heat release fluctuation in the combustor using chemiluminescence emission. The results show that the flame transfer functions are greatly dependent on the modulation frequency as well as operating conditions such as equivalence ratio. Flame dynamics can be generalized as a function of Strouhal number which is a ratio of flame length to modulation wave length.

  • 컴퓨터 하드웨어와 네트워크의 발전 속도에 비해 컴퓨터 소프트웨어의 발전 속도가 더뎌서 '소프트웨어 위기'가 도래한 것이 아니냐는 걱정의 목소리를 한번쯤은 들어보았을 것이다. '소프트웨어의 위기'가 도래하게 된 것에는 여러 가지 원인이 있겠지만 그 이면을 잘 들여다보면 새로운 소프트웨어의 개발 시 기존 소프트웨어의 재사용이 어려운 것이 가장 큰 원인이다. e-learning에 있어서도 이러한 상황과 유사하게 e-learning 관련 기반 기술 및 소프트웨어의 발전 속도에 비해 콘텐츠의 증가 및 발전 속도가 더딘 것이 문제가 될 수 있으며, 이것은 '콘텐츠의 위기'로 이어진다. 이러한 위기를 해결하기 위하여, e-learning 기술의 측면을 강조한 기존 e-learning 표준화 로드맵과 달리 본 고에서는 e-learning 콘텐츠에 초점을 맞추어 표준화 동향과 로드맵을 제시한다.
