Quantitative evaluation of collapse hazard levels of tunnel faces by interlinked consideration of face mapping, design and construction data: focused on adaptive weights (막장관찰 및 설계/시공자료가 연계 고려된 터널막장 붕괴 위험도의 정량적 산정: 가변형 가중치 중심으로)

  • Previously, a new concept of indexing methodology has been proposed for quantitative assessment of tunnel collapse hazard level at each tunnel face with respect to the given geological data, design condition and the corresponding construction activity (Shin et al, 2009a). In this paper, 'linear' model, in which weights of influence factors are invariable, and 'non-linear' model, in which weights of influence factors are variable, are taken into account with some examples. Then, the 'non-linear' model is validated by using 100 tunnel collapse cases. It appears that 'non-linear' model allows us to have adapted weight values of influence factors to characteristics of given tunnel site. In order to make a better understanding and help for an effective use of the system, a series of operating processes of the system are built up. Then, by following the processes, the system is applied to a real-life tunnel project in very weak and varying ground conditions. Through this approach, it would be quite apparent that the tunnel collapse hazard indices are determined by well interlinked consideration of face mapping data as well as design/construction data. The calculated indices seem to be in good agreement with available electric resistivity distribution and design/construction status. In addition, This approach could enhance effective usage of face mapping data and lead timely and well corresponding field reactions to situation of weak tunnel faces.

  • Resilient deformation characteristics on unbound pavement materials have been adopted for design and nonlinear analysis of pavement structure under traffic loadings. However, relatively few studies have been done on the nonlinear resilient behavior of unbound pavement materials in Korea. In addition, only the limited information is available for estimating the resilient modulus values on unbound materials. In this study, a laboratory resilient-deformation test under repeated loadings is performed in order to fud a proper constitutive model that correlates the resilient modulus with stress state from field condition. Finally, a finite element analysis is conducted for evaluating the nonlinear characteristics of unbound materials. and the pavement performance respectively.

  • 디스플레이 해상도가 지속적으로 고해상화가 되면서, 기존 저해상도 영상을 고해상도 디스플레이 크기에 맞춰 해상도를 키우는 기법인 초해상화(super-resolution, SR) 기법에 많은 관심이 쏟아지고 있으며 이에 대한 많은 초해상화 논문들이 게재되었다. 이 중 현재 최상 품질의 고해상도 영상을 복원하는 한 초해상화 기법은, 입력 받은 저해상도 영상을 자가 예제(self-examples)로 사용하여 선형 매핑(linear mapping)을 통해 점진적으로 여러 레벨(level)를 거쳐 조금씩 키우는 방법이다. 이때 각 레벨마다 기존 저해상도 영상 크기로 반복적으로 줄여 오차를 줄이는 역투영법(back-projection)을 사용하는데, 이 방법은 처리된 영상에 시각적 품질을 낮추는 링 아티팩트(ringing artifacts)를 생산하며, 이는 매 레벨마다 계속 누적이 되어 고해상도 결과 이미지 품질에 악영향을 미치는 단점이 있다. 이를 보완하기 위해, 본 논문에서는 저해상도 정지 영상을 고해상도 정지 영상으로 점진적으로 키울 때 일반적인 역투영법 대신 비국소적 평균법(non-local means, NLM) 기반 역투영법을 사용하는 초해상화 기법을 제안한다. 제안하는 기법은 매 레벨마다 생기는 링 아티팩트를 효과적으로 제거하여 높은 시각적 품질의 고해상도 영상을 복원할 수 있게 한다. 실험을 통해 제안된 초해상화 기법을 사용 시 기존 초해상화 기법보다 향상된 고품질 고해상도 영상 복원이 가능한 것을 확인하였다.

  • In this paper, we present the robust fuzzy algorithm for variable speed control of wind turbines. Generally, the plants of wind turbines are consisted of complex nonlinearities, and the parameters of variable speed of wind turbines are represented as uncertain terms. For solving these complexity, we propose the robust fuzzy algorithm. At first, the exact fuzzy modeling are performed for variable speed of wind turbines. Next, we design the fuzzy controller for reanalyzed T-S fuzzy model of the wind turbines, then, we prove the stability of the plant through the Lyapunov stability theorem. At last, an example is included for visualizing the efficiency of the proposed technique.

Geometrically Linear and Non-linear Analysis of Plates and Shells Resting on Arbitrary Elastic Edge Supports (임의의 탄성 경계 지점으로 지지된 판과 쉘의 기하학적 선형 및 비선형해석)

  • A linear and non-linear analysis for plates and shells with arbitrary edge supports subjected to various loading was presented. The 9-node ANS(Assumed Natural Strain) hell element was employed and the spring element, which could express an arbitrary edge support using the six degrees of freedom, was introduced. For the application of his analysis, the plates and shells with various edge supports were analyzed, and the ending behavior with these edge supports were obtained accurately. For these edge supports, particularly elastic edge support was simulated by six springs and reasonable results were obtained. The results show that the present method can be widely used to analyze the bending behavior of plates and shells with arbitrary edge conditions.

Development of Three-dimensional Approximate Analysis Method for Piled Raft Foundations (말뚝지지 전면기초의 3차원 근사해석기법 개발)

  • A three-dimensional approximate computer-based method, YSPR (Yonsei Piled Raft), was developed for analysis of behavior of piled raft foundations. The raft was modeled as a flat shell element having 6 degrees of freedom at each node and the pile was modeled as a beam-column element. The behaviors of pile head and soil were controlled by using $6{\times}6$ stiffness matrix. To model the non-linear behavior, the soil-structure interaction between soil and pile was modeled by using nonlinear load-transfer curves (t-z, q-z and p-y curves). Comparison with previous model and FEM analysis showed that YSPR gave similar load-displacement behaviors. Comparison with field measurement also indicated that YSPR gave a reasonable result. It was concluded that YSPR could be effectively used in analysis and design of piled raft foundations.

Fault Detection and Diagnosis (FDD) Using Nonlinear Regression Models for Heat Exchanger Faults in Heat Pump System (비선형회귀모델을 이용한 히트펌프시스템의 열교환기 고장에 대한 고장감지 및 진단에 대한 연구)

  • This paper proposed a fault detection and diagnosis (FDD) algorithm using nonlinear regression models, focusing especially on heat exchanger faults. This research concerned four working modes: those with no fault, evaporator fault, condenser fault, and evaporator and condenser faults. This research used no fault mode data to create an FDD algorithm. Using the no fault mode data, correlation functions for predicting the degree of superheat or subcool of heat exchangers (an evaporator and a condenser) were derived. Each correlation function has five inputs and one output. Based on these correlation functions, it is possible to predict the degree of superheat or subcool of each heat exchanger under various working conditions. The FDD algorithm was developed by comparing the predicted value and the simulation value. The FDD algorithm works well in all four working modes.

  • In general mechanical servo systems, friction deteriorates the performance of controllers by its nonlinear characteristics. Especially, friction phenomenon causes steady-state tracking errors and limit cycles in position and velocity control systems, even though gains of controllers are tuned well in linear system model. Even if sensor is used higher accuracy level, it is difficult to improve tracking performance of the position to the same level with a general control method such as PID type. Therefore, many friction models were proposed and compensation methods have been researched actively. In this paper, we consider that the variation of mover's mass is various by loading and unloading. The normal force variation occurs by it an other parameters. Therefore, the proposed control system is composed of main position controller and a friction compensator. A parameter estimator for a nonlinear friction model is designed by adaptive control law and adaptive backstepping control method.

열정! 건설현장을 찾아서 - 효창건설 국도 31호선 인제 하추 수해위험지구 정비공사현장

  • 소양강과 내린천의 수려한 풍경을 볼 수 있는 것으로 유명한 국도 31호선에 앞으로는 '안전한 도로'라는 별명이 더해질 것으로 보인다. 강원 인제군 기린면 북리 일대 국도 31호선 구간의 평면 및 종단선형을 개량해 홍수 등 수해로부터 안전한 도로를 만드는 공사가 한창 진행 중에 있기 때문이다. 그간 이 구간은 많은 비가 쏟아질 경우 상습적으로 침수가 됐다. 때문에 폭우 시 운전자들은 먼 길로 돌아서 목적지로 가야만 했다. 하지만 내년말경 공사가 완공되면 이러한 불편을 겪지 않아도 된다. 게다가 도로 구조체의 안전성 등도 확보돼 도로 본래의 제 기능을 발휘할 수 있게 된다. 이런 변화를 이끌고 있는 주인공은 건실한 중견건설사인 '효창건설'이다. 지역민을 비롯해 이곳을 찾는 관광객들의 안전과 직결된 공사인 만큼 안전관리에 총력을 기울이고 있다는 효창건설 국도 31호선 인제 하추 수해위험 지구 정비공사현장을 찾아가 봤다.

Generalization of Galois Linear Feedback Register (갈로이 선형 궤환 레지스터의 일반화)

  • This thesis proposes Arithmetic Shift Register(ASR) which can be used as pseudo random number generator. Arithmetic Shift. Register is defined as progression that multiplies random number D , not 0 or 1 at initial value which is not 0, and it is represented as ASR-D in this thesis. Irreducible polynomial that t which makes $'D^k=1'$ satisfies uniquely as $'t=2^n-1'$ over. $GF(2^n)$ is the characteristic polynomial of ASR-D , and the cycle of Arithmetic Shift Register has maximum cycle as $'2^n-1'$. Galois Linear Feedback Shift Register corresponds to ASR-2-1. Therefore, Arithmetic Shift Register proposed in this thesis generalizes Galois Linear Feedback Shift Register. Linear complexity of ASR-D over$GF(2^n)$ is $'n{\leq}LC{\leq}\frac{n^2+n}{2}'$ and in comparison with existing Linear Feedback Shift Register stability is high. The Software embodiment of arithmetic shift register proposed in this thesis is efficient than that of existing Linear Shift Register and hardware complexity is equal. Arithmetic shift register proposed in this thesis can be used widely in various fields such as cipher, error correcting codes, Monte Carlo integral, and data communication etc along with existing linear shift register.
