  • Recently, the electric device has been launching owing to the development of industry. That development also can maximize the efficiency of generator. The emergency rescue vehicle operation differs from ordinary vehicles in engine life and usage distances. For the application of this system, this research proposes the ways to operate the emergency rescue vehicle operations more efficiently. Currently, many power systems, especially motors, developed with a large output of power. It is possible to produce electricity in the engine room with enough space and to operate all equipment within the rating load capacity.

  • Since the introduction of electronically controlled engines and electric propulsion ships, the need for an uninterruptible power supply for emergency power supply devices that use batteries has gained importance. The bidirectional converter in such emergency power supply devices is a crucial component. This paper proposes, a topology for an improved DC-DC bidirectional converter that is characterized by a high voltage conversion ratio and low voltage stress of switches. To confirm the performance of the converter, a computer simulation was executed with PSIM software. The conversion ratio of the proposed converter was found to be four times higher than the conventional boost converter in step-up mode and one-fourth that of the conventional buck converter in step-down mode, and the voltage stress of the switches was one-fourth of the high-side voltage. Moreover, the proposed converter was confirmed to be able to distribute equal currents between two interleaved modules without using any extra current-sharing control method because of the charge balance of its blocking capacitors.

  • A GEN TEST of the auxiliary power unit of a T-50 series aircraft is performed as part of the operational test of its emergency power system on the ground before flight. At this time, the auxiliary power unit should be automatically turned off via the response signal of the ECU when power is not normally supplied to the emergency power system. If the correct operation of the emergency power system cannot be confirmed on the ground, it is not possible to proceed with the flight. This kind of defect is a major factor causing the operation rate of the aircraft to be decreased. The defect code identified by the ECU was confirmed as a defect in the inverter. However, the same defect was found after replacing the inverter. This report presents an improved method of identifying the cause of the defect by analyzing the response characteristics of the ECU and emergency power system and allows the ECU to be recognized as the cause of the defect if the inverter does not generate a voltage within a certain time. Also, the application of the improved method confirmed that it can satisfy the output request time of the emergency power system and effectively prevent the auto-shutdown of the auxiliary power unit.

  • Recently, Interest in power the quality was increased because of increasing the use of sensitive load equipment into an electrical disturbance such as computer, Electricity, Electronics, Telecommunications and semiconductor device. In addition, To enhance power quality, the instantaneous voltage drop occurred in precision load equipment is a need for proper compensation. In order to solve the problem, The developed dynamic voltage restorer (DVR) using an electric double layer capacitor (EDLC) has been applied. In this paper, We will do study to apply hybrid capacitors that have high energy density to the same size compared to the EDLC to DVR. Also, As a emergency luminaires of emergency power supply that we can support more than 10 years of life was confirmed the applicability of hybrid capacitor.

  • 전력공급의 신뢰도가 중요한 고도의 산업화 사회에서 안정적인 전력공급을 위한 비상전원 시스템의 이용은 필수적이며 이들을 위한 에너지 저장장치로서 축전지가 주류를 이루고 있다. 그러나 축전지는 비선형적인 특성으로 인해 그 상태를 정확히 예측하기 어려워 함께 사용되는 설비의 신뢰성을 저하시키는 문제를 갖고 있다. 본 논문에서는 AC 임피던스법을 이용하여 배터리의 이상 유무를 감시할 수 있는 모니터링 장치의 하드웨어 및 소프트웨어를 설계하고 실증하였다. 또한, 배터리의 상태를 진단할 수 있는 알고리즘을 적용하였으며, CAN 통신을 통하여 원격으로 다수의 배터리를 실시간으로 감시할 수 있는 소프트웨어도 개발하였다.

  • An Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) is a small gas turbine engine that is mounted on an aircraft and serves to supply energy for ground and air starting of the main engine. APU also supplies emergency and auxiliary power for the aircraft. APU for aircraft is simple and compact in structure, but because it is mounted on manned aircraft, high reliability is required, so it must be proved its reliability through qualification procedure. The Korea Aerospace Research Institute and Hanwha Techwin successfully completed the design / analysis, fabrication, assembly, development test and certification test of APU for helicopter based on accumulated domestic R & D capability and experience from 2007 to 2012. In this paper, the development and certification process of auxiliary power unit for helicopter is summarized.

  • Aircraft battery is the core equipment of an aircraft that supplies engine starting power and emergency power, and it must be charged to ensure sufficient capacity at all times and maintain high reliability to ensure stable power supply. The battery of the T-50 series aircraft is designed to enable the engine to start up to two times in temperatures as low as -18℃ and above. However, intermittent failures in engine starting have been observed during winter. In this paper, we analyze the failure phenomena occurring during low-temperature charging of the battery and improve the charging algorithm based on the analysis and test. Additionally, the results of start simulation tests show that the battery charging defects at low temperatures are resolved, and an improvement in the charging performance is confirmed; thus, validating the effectiveness of the new algorithm.

  • 본 논문은 에너지 저장시스템(ESS)과 무정전 전원장치(UPS)를 하나로 통합한 새로운 하이브리드 ESS-UPS 시스템을 제안한다. 제안하는 시스템은 ESS와 UPS를 하나로 통합함으로써 전력변환 시스템(PCS)의 가격을 줄이고 배터리의 이용률을 높일 수 있다. 또한 기존의 on-line UPS와는 달리 두 종류의 중요부하를 구성할 수 있어 PCS의 용량대비 비상발전 용량을 증대시키는 것이 가능하다. 본 논문에서는 제안하는 하이브리드 ESS-UPS 시스템의 운영 전략 및 급속 모드전환 알고리즘을 제안하며, 5kW급 축소 시작품을 통한 실험 결과로 타당성을 입증하였다.

  • Unlike the past, modern urban intersections have dramatic growth in size and utilizations. As a result, continual traffic signal control is essential. Hence the individual or regional electrical blackout may bring about uncontrollable traffic congestion. Late summer of 2011 a regional blackout brought about traffic nightmare not including time and revenue loss associated with this disaster. Due to this disaster our national police agency and other government agencies are in process of introducing an UPS (uninterruptible power supply) system into essential intersections. This study estimates the power consumption necessary to sustain at least 2 continuous hours for a standard four-legged intersection. Prototype was studied using these standards. The field experiment of prototype showed positive results and was able to meet standard guidelines set forth. Prototype tested was able to meet standards in medium to large capacity of traffic size.

고차나노구조 제어기술을 이용한 열전소재 개발

  • 세계 어디에서나 에너지의 수요가 급속히 증가하고 있는 반면, 인류가 사용 가능한 에너지 자원은 그 한계가 보이고 있다. 더욱이지구 온난화 현상이 표면화되어 있는 현 시점에서 인류의 사회활동은 환경문제와 밀접하게 연관되어져서 생각해야 한다는 것이 지구라는 close system 에서는 명확하다. 한정된 에너지 자원을 유용하게 사용하여 인류 미래의 삶을 보다 윤택하게 유지하기 위하여서는 사용목적에 맞는 최적의 에너지 형태로 효율 좋게 변환하는 것은 무엇보다도 중요하다. 열전기술은 원래우주개발 및 군사관계에 우선적으로 사용된 기술로써, 냉전시대의 미국과 소련이 개발경쟁을 한 바 있다. 열을 전기로 바꾸는 열전발전과 전기를 열로 바꾸는 냉동 보온의 양면으로부터 우주 탐사기에 탑재된 발전기, 잠수함용 냉난방장치, 비상용 전원, 자동차용 전원 등 가지각색의 system 이 고안되었다. 냉전시대가 끝나고 우주 군사 관계의 기술이 외부로 확산되게 되었으나 열전분야에서는 변환효율이 크지 않다는 단점으로 인해 민생부분으로 즉각적으로 전이할 수없는 어려운 점이 내재해 있었다. 에너지 및 환경의 문제가 심각히 대두되고 있는 오늘날에 이르러서야재료 및 그 응용에 대한 연구가 다시 붐을 이루어 활발히 진행되고 있다. 본 발표에서는 열전소재의 효율을 높이기 위한 고차나노구조 제어기술 및 그것을 이용한 최근의 연구결과들을 소개한다.
