An Energy-Efficient Asynchronous Sensor MAC Protocol Design for Wireless Sensor Networks (무선 센서 네트워크를 위한 에너지 효율적인 비동기 방식의 센서 MAC 프로토콜 설계)

  • Synchronization MAC Protocol such as S-MAC and T-MAC utilize duty cycling technique which peroidically operate wake-up and sleep state for reducing energy consumption. But synchronization MAC showed low energy efficiency because of additional control packets. For better energy consumption, Asychronization MAC protocols are suggested. For example, B-MAC, and X-MAC protocol adopt Low Power Listening (LPL) technique with CSMA algorithm. All nodes in these protocols joining a network with independent duty cycle schedules without additional synchronization control packets. For this reason, asynchronous MAC protocol improve energy efficiency. In this study, a low-power MAC protocol which is based on X-MAC protocol for wireless sensor network is proposed for better energy efficiency. For this protocol, we suggest preamble numbering, and virtual-synchronization technique between sender and receive node. Using TelosB mote for evaluate energy efficiency.

Mission-based Operational Orbit Design for Sun-synchronous Spacecraft (임무기반 태양동기궤도 운영궤도 설계에 관한 연구)

  • This paper presents a mission orbit design method for spacecraft which use the sun-synchronous and ground repeat orbits. In this work, we have proposed a new design procedure, "Nonlinear simulation-based numerical optimization technique" using the commercial S/W's such as STK (Satellite Tool kit) and Matlab, which are widely adopted S/W's in the area of orbital mechanics and engineering analysis. Inclusion of all the perturbation effects on the spacecraft not only can more precisely satisfy the mission requirements for sun-synchronicity and repeated ground track, and also operational requirements such as minimum change in the S/C local time, maximization of the contact time with a specified ground station, etc. can be appropriately considered. Design examples for LEO sun-synchronous mission are presented to demonstrate the usefulness of the proposed method in this paper.

Performance analysis of iterative groupwise equal-delay interference cancellation(IGEIC) for multiuser detection of coherent W-CDMA system (동기복조 W-CDMA 시스템의 다중 사용자 검출을 위한 반복 그룹단위 등지연 간섭제거(IGEIC) 알고리즘 성능해석)

  • This paper proposes and analyzes the iterative groupwise equal-delay interference cancellation(IGEIC) algorithm for coherent detection of an asynchronous wideband DS-CDMA system in a single cell over multipath fading channels. The IGEIC algorithm divide users in a system into several groups, and subtract out interference signal from the received signal as many as the number of users within a user group, iteratively. The IGEIC algorithm is also classified into the iterative groupwise equal-delay serial interference cancellation(IGESIC) algorithm and the iterative groupwise equal-delay parallel interference cancellation(IGEPIC) algorithm. In the case of perfect correlation for spreading codes, it shows that the performance of IGESIC and IGEPIC algorithm is the same after interference cancellation of as many as the number of users within a user group, but the performance of IGEPIC algorithm is superior to the IGESIC algorithm just before fecal cancellation within a user group. The results show that (he performance of the two proposed algorithms are also superior to the SIC algorithm by 3dB.

  • In a large scale parallel computation, some processor or communication link failure results in a waste of huge amount of CPU hours. However, MPI in its current specification gives the user no possibility to handle such a problem. In this paper, we propose an application-level fault tolerant linear system solver by using an MPMD-type asynchronous iteration, purely on the basis of the MPI standard without using any non-standard fault-tolerant MPI library.

  • The analysis of electroencephalographic signal associated with the attention is essential for the understanding of human cognition. In this paper, the characteristic differences between the attention and inattention status in the brain were inspected by nonlinear analysis. The recurrence quantification analysis was applied to the relatively small number of samples of evoked potential having time varying characteristics, where the recurrence plot (RP), the color recurrence plot (CRP), and mean and time-sequential trend parameters were extracted. The dimension and the time delay in phase transformation can be determined by the paired set of extracted parameters. It is observed from RP, CRP, and parameters that the brain dynamics in attention is more complex than that in the inattention, as well as the synchronized brain response is stable in the mean sense but locally time varying. It is feasible that the non-linear analysis method can be useful for the analysis of complex brain dynamics associated during visual attentional task.

  • In the CDMA mobile communication system with asynchronous mode among base stations, the initial PN code acquisition method using a matched filter can be considered for the rapid PN code synchronization acquisition in the handoff region. In the model of the noncoherent QPSK/DS-SS under the Rayleigh fading channel, the mean acquisttion time of the matched filter is analyzed to have a shortened time in proportion to the length of matched filter to be compared with the serial correlation method. In this paper to improve the HW complexity of the conventional matched device which enables the repeated correlation process, is designed and its function is verified through the FPGAsimulation using Altera MaxPlus Ⅱ.

  • There are so many low power MAC protocols for wireless sensor network. IEEE802.15.4 among them has disadvantage of a large power consumption for synchronization. To save power consumption it use the superframe operation alternating sleep mode and awake mode. But latency is longer result from superframe operation. Typical asynchronous B-MAC can have shorter latency according to check interval. But transmitter consumes more power because of long preamble. And receiver is suffering from overhearing. In this paper, we propose the adaptive check interval scheme of B-MAC for enhancing the power consumption and delay latency performance. Its power consumption is evaluated by comparing the proposed scheme with a typical IEEE802.15.4.

  • In a large scale parallel computation, failures of some nodes or communication links end up with waste of computing resources, Several fault-tolerant MPI libraries have been proposed so far, but the programs written by using such libraries have a portability problem since fault-tolerant features are not supported by the MPI standard yet, In this paper, we propose an application-level fault-tolerant linear system solver that uses the asynchronous iteration algorithm and the standard MPI functions only, which does not have a portability problem and is more efficient by adopting a simplified recovery mechanism.

Motives of Organizational Citizenship Behavior : comparison between OCBO & OCBI (조직시민행동의 하위차원별 수행동기 비교)

  • This study has three purposes. Firstly, we try to extract the types of the motives of OCBO & OCBI instead of global OCB. Secondly, we compare the types of the motives OCBO & OCBI and those of the motives of global OCB. Finally, using another set of P-sample, we try to find out whether the four types of the motives of OCB found in the study of Kim & Lee(2013) could be found once again. The findings are as follows. First, we found the four types of the motives of OCBO, and three the types of the motives of OCBI. Second we found some similarities and differences at the same time between the types of OCBO, OCBI, & global OCB. Third, except the instrumentality-based type, three of the four types found in the study of Kim & Lee(2013) reappeared in this study. In conclusion, these findings suggest that OCBO & OCBI, the sub-dimensions of OCB, have their own distinctive natures respectively.

  • 일반적인 응용 프로그램에서 루프는 대부분의 수행시간을 차지하기 때문에 병렬성 추출의 핵심 부분이라 할 수 있다. 병렬성이 많은 구조는 루프 구조이며, 루프를 병렬로 처리하기 위해 각 반복간에 존재하는 데이터의 종속은 프로세서간의 동기화가 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 다중첨자를 갖는 1차원 배열의 루프의 병렬화를 위해 다수 개의 동일한 종속값을 이용하여 종속함수를 생성하고 이를 이용하여 종속관계가 성립하지 않는 비종속 구간(Non-dependence part)을 구한다. 그리고 동일한 값을 가지는 복수개의 종속값 간의 동기화는 외부루프 분할 기법을 이용하여 적은 횟수의 청자가 외부에 위치하도록 하여 간소화한 후 단일 첨자를 갖는 루프에 동기화를 수행하는 기법을 제시한다.
