A Study on Removal Method of Building area from LiDAR DSM with Edge Detection (경계선 추출을 통한 LiDAR DSM에서의 건물제거기법 연구)

  • 최근에는 LiDAR 시스템의 등장으로 기존의 항공사진측량에 비하여 효율적이고, 경제적으로 도시지역의 수치표고자료를 효과적으로 구축할 수 있게 되었으나, 도시지역에서는 다양한 형태의 객체들이 모두 포함된 DSM(Digital Surface Model) 형식의 자료를 취득하게 된다. 따라서, 홍수범람예측에 있어서의 인공지물의 영향 해석 등을 위하여 건물이 제거된 지형에 관한 상세한 정보를 제공하기 위해서는 DSM으로부터 DEM(Digital Elevation Model)을 추출하기 위한 전처리 과정이 필요하다. 본 연구는 LiOAR 시스템으로부터 취득된 도시지역에 대한 DSM으로부터 건물 등이 제거된 DEM을 추출하기 위한 연구로서 영상처리기법의 경계검출 알고리즘을 적용하여 건물 등의 지물들에 대한 경계를 추출하였으며, 선행연구에서 건물로 추출된 지역에 대하여 보간법을 적용함으로써 발생하는 원시 DSM 자료의 변형에 따른 대안으로써, 추출된 경계에 대여 평균값 필터링, 중간 값 필터링, 최소 값 필터링을 각각 적용함으로써 원시 DSM 자료의 변형을 최소화하여 건물 등의 지물들을 제거하였으며, LiDAR DSM으로부터 DEM을 제작하는 과정을 간략화, 자동화하였다.

Sliding Mode Control with Bound Estimation for Robot Manipulators (경계 추정치를 가진 로봇 슬라이딩 모드 제어)

  • In this paper, we propose a sliding mode control with the bound estimation for robot manipulators without requiring exact knowledge of the robot dynamics. For the bound estimation, the upper bound of the uncertain nonlinearities of robot dynamics is represented as a Fredholm integral equation of the first kind and we propose an adaptive scheme which is only dependent on the sliding surface function. Also, we prove the asymptotic stability for the robot systems using two important properties in the robot dynamics: skew-symmetry and positive-definiteness of robot parameters.

Effective Syllable Modeling for Korean Speech Recognition Using Continuous HMM (연속 은닉 마코프 모델을 이용한 한국어 음성 인식을 위한 효율적 음절 모델링)

  • Recently attempts to we the syllable as the recognition unit to enhance performance in continuous speech recognition hate been reported. However, syllables are worse in their trainability than phones and the former have a disadvantage in that contort-dependent modeling is difficult across the syllable boundary since the number of models is much larger for syllables than for phones. In this paper, we propose a method to enhance the trainability for the syllables in Korean and phoneme-context dependent syllable modeling across the syllable boundary. An experiment in which the proposed method is applied to word recognition shows average 46.23% error reduction in comparison with the common syllable modeling. The right phone dependent syllable model showed 16.7% error reduction compared with a triphone model.

Removing SAR Speckle Noise Based on the Edge Sharpenig Algorithm (경계선 보존을 기반으로 한 SAR 영상의 잡영 제거 알고리즘에 대한 연구)

  • 모든 SAR 영상에는 전자기파 간의 간섭으로 인한 스페클 잡영(speckle)이 존재하며, 이를 제거하는 것은 양질의 SAR 영상을 얻기 위한 필수적인 전처리 과정 중 하나라고 할 수 있다. 그러나 이러한 스페클 잡영을 제거하기 위하여 기존에 제안되었던 알고리즘은 잡영은 효과적으로 감소시키는 반면 경계선과 같은 영상의 고유 정보까지 함께 감소시키는 한계가 있었다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 SAR 영상의 경계선은 보존시키면서 영상으로부터 불필요한 잡영을 제거할 수 있는 알고리즘을 구현하고, 기존의 알고리즘과 비교하여 그 효율성을 평가하고자 한다. 영상의 통계적 특성에 근거하는 기존의 알고리즘과는 달리 웨이블렛 변환(Wavelet transform)으로 경계선 및 특징 정보의 여부를 판별한 후 평균 필터(mean filter)를 적용하는 경계선 보존(edge sharpening) 알고리즘은 경계 정보의 신뢰성을 향상시킬 수 있으며, 1차원 필터를 수평, 수직, 대각선, 역대각선 방향으로 적용함으로써 하나의 영상소를 중심으로 모든 방향에 대한 경계선 여부를 확인할 수 있는 장점이 있다. 본 연구에서는 512 × 512로 절취한 1-look SAR 영상에 대하여 창 크기 5 × 5의 경계선 보존 필터를 적용하고 동일영상에 대하여 기존의 Lee, Kuan, Frost 필터 등의 실험결과를 비교함으로써 그 적합성을 판단하고자 하였다. 실험결과에 대한 수치적인 평가는 ①정규화 평균을 이용하여 평균값의 보존 여부, ②편차 계수를 이용한 스페클 잡영의 제거 여부, ③경계선 보존지수(EPI)를 이용한 경계선의 보존 정도를 통해 이루어졌다. 본 연구의 실험결과를 통해 경계선 보존 필터는 평균값의 보존 여부 및 스페클 잡영 제거 정도에 있어 다른 필터들과 큰 차이가 없지만 경계선보존지수는 다른 필터들에 비하여 가장 우수함을 확인할 수 있었다.rbon 탐식효율을 조사한 결과 B, D 및 E 분획에서 유의적인 효과를 나타내었다. 이상의 결과를 종합해볼 때, ${\beta}$-glucan은 고용량일 때 직접적으로 또는 $IFN-{\gamma}$ 존재시에는 저용량에서도 복강 큰 포식세로를 활성화시킬 뿐 아니라, 탐식효율도 높임으로써 면역기능을 증진 시키는 것으로 나타났고, 그 효과는 crude ${\beta}$-glucan의 추출조건에 따라 달라지는 것을 알 수 있었다.eveloped. An Alternative Simplified Approach in Solving for the Inelastic Buckling Strengths of Singly Symmetric Non-Compact Stepped I-Beams (일축대칭 비조밀 스텝 I형보의 비탄성 좌굴강도 산정을 위한 단순방법)

  • This paper proposed a new design equation for the inelastic lateral torsional buckling (LTB) of singly symmetric stepped I-beams with non-compact flange sections. The proposed equation was generated using a finite element program, ABAQUS, and a statistical program, MINITAB. The parameters used were the stepped beams parameters; ${\alpha}$, ${\beta}$, and ${\gamma}$ and the length-to-height ratio ($L_b/h$) of the beam. The proposed equation was further validated by means of experimental test, where beams were subjected to four-point bending and supported by roller and lateral braces near the end supports. In addition, finite element models were simulated using the same parameters used in the experimental test to verify the results of the test conducted. It was proved that LTB capacity calculated from the proposed equation is accurate and conservative in comparison with the yielded values from the FEM and actual test, making it a reliable and safe approach in calculating the buckling capacities of singly symmetric stepped beams with non-compact flange sections.

Speech Perception Boundaries of Korean Confusing Monosyllabic Minimal Pairs (CVC) in Normal Adults (한국어 초, 중, 종성 혼돈 단음절 최소대립쌍 (CVC)에 대한 정상 성인의 지각경계 연구)

  • Categorical perception has been noted as characteristic properties of linguistic stimuli. In this study, Korean monosyllabic minimal pairs (consonant-vowel-consonant, CVC) were analyzed to understand perception boundaries between clinically confusing words. An efficient scheme has been developed to systematically synthesize temporal transition waveforms (11 steps) from one word to the target word for the pairs of /gom/-/gong/, /non/-/noon/, and /don/-/non/. The corresponding slopes, widths, and non-dominant factors of perception boundaries were analyzed for the total of 40 young normal subjects (20 males and 20 females). Results showed that there were relative pattern differences among confusing monosyllabic minimal pairs under categorical perception. For instance, the vowel difference within CVC pairs led to the lowest boundary performance in this experiment set. Data also indicated the potential application of the overall procedure for evaluating auditory functions and assisting rehabilitation programs.

Efficient Dynamic Analysis of High-rise Buildings Having Belt Walls Connected by a Sky-Bridge (스카이브릿지로 연결된 벨트월이 있는 고층건물의 효율적인 동적해석)

  • In the design of a sky-bridge, repetitive boundary nonlinear time history analyses are required to accurately predict dynamic behaviors of the connected buildings because the connection systems of a sky-bridge usually have high nonlinearity. If a conventional finite element model for entire high-rise buildings is used for repetitive boundary nonlinear time history analyses, computational efforts could be significant. In this study, an equivalent cantilever model considering the belt-wall effect has been proposed for an efficient dynamic analysis and a performance evaluation of vibration control of high-rise buildings connected by a sky-bridge. To verify the accuracy and efficiency of the proposed equivalent model, boundary nonlinear time history analyses of 49- and 42-story example buildings connected by a sky-bridge have been performed for wind excitation. Based on the analytical results, it has been verified that the proposed equivalent model can provide accurate dynamic responses of building structures connected by a sky-bridge with significantly reduced computational efforts.

Evaluation of the Response of BRM Analysis with Spring-Damper Absorbing Boundary Condition according to Modeling Extent of FE Region for the Nonlinear SSI Analysis (비선형 SSI 해석을 위해 Spring-Damper 에너지 흡수경계조건을 적용한 BRM의 유한요소 모델링 범위에 따른 응답평가)

  • The boundary reaction method(BRM) is a substructure time domain method, it removes global iterations between frequency and time domain analyses commonly required in the hybrid approaches, so that it operates as a two-step uncoupled method. The BRM offers a two-step method as follows: (1) the calculation of boundary reaction forces in the frequency domain on an interface of linear and nonlinear regions, (2) solving the wave radiation problem subjected to the boundary reaction forces in the time domain. In the time domain analysis, the near-field soil is modeled to simulate the wave radiation problem. This paper evaluates the performance of the BRM according to modeling extent of near-field soil for the nonlinear SSI analysis of base-isolated NPP structure. For this purpose, parametric studies are performed using equivalent linear SSI problems. The accuracy of the BRM solution is evaluated by comparing the BRM solution with that of conventional SSI seismic technique. The numerical results show that the soil condition affects the modeling range of near-field soil for the BRM analysis as well as the size of the basemat. Finally, the BRM is applied for the nonlinear SSI analysis of a base-isolated NPP structure to demonstrate the accuracy and effectiveness of the method.

Automatic Boundary Detection of Carotid Intima-Media based on Multiresolution Snake (다해상도 스네이크를 통한 경동맥 내막-중막 경계선 자동추출)

  • The intima media thickness(IMT) of the carotid artery from B mode ultrasound images has recently been proposed as the most useful index of individual atherosclerosis and can be used to predict major cardiovascular events. Ultrasonic measurements of the IMT are conventionally obtained by manually tracing interfaces between tissue layers. The drawbacks of this method are the inter and intra observer variability and its inefficiency. In this paper, we present a multiresolution snake method combined with the dynamic programming, which overcomes the various noises and sensitivity to initialization of conventional snake. First, an image pyramid is constructed using the Gaussian pyramid that maintains global edge information with smoothing in the images, and then the boundaries are automatically detected in the lowest resolution level by minimizing a cost function based on dynamic programming. The cost function includes cost terms which are representing image features and geometrical continuity of the vessel interfaces. Since the detected boundaries are selected as initial contour of the snake for the next level, this automated approach solves the problem of the initialization. Moreover, the proposed snake improves the problem of converging th the local minima by defining the external energy based on multiple image features. In this paper, our method has been validated by computing the correlation between manual and automatic measurements. This automated detection method has obtained more accurate and reproducible results than conventional edge detection by considering multiple image features.
