Numerical study on the effect of the PET bottle thickness difference for blow molding process conditions (블로우 성형 공정 변수가 PET 용기의 두께 편차에 미치는 영향에 관한 수치해석 연구)

  • This study presents the blow molding of injection stretch-blow molding process for PET bottle. The numerical analysis of the blow molding of PET bottle is considered in this paper using CAE with a view to minimize the thickness difference. In order to determine the design parameters and processing conditions in blow molding, it is very important to establish the numerical model with physical phenomenon. In this study, a shell model with thickness has been introduced for the purpose and blow simulations with 3-type blow process condition are carried out. The simulations resulted in the thickness distribution in good agreement with the physical phenomenon. Also, from the result of numerical analysis, we appropriately predicted the thickness distribution along the PET bottle wall and Using the result of numerical analysis we apply the preform design and blow molding process condition for optimization.

  • Rapid Prototyping(RP) techniques have revolutionized traditional manufacturing methods. These techniques allow the user to fabricate a part directly from a conceptual model before investing in production tooling and help develop new models with significant short time. This paper suggests to new process to manufacture large size hollow shape parts for prototype-car using Rapid Prototyping technology and Vacuum Molding with the reduction of delivery time. In addition, This paper introduces the dividing and combining method to make large size RP master model in spite of the limit of the build chamber dimensions of commercialized RP system and post-processing method to achieve sufficient surface quality.

  • Rapid Prototyping(RP) models are no longer used only for design verification. Currently, parts built utilizing layer manufacturing technology can be employed as functional prototypes and as patterns or tools for different manufacturing processes such as vacuum casting, investment casting, injection molding, precise casting and sand casting. This trend of Rapid Prototyping application meets the requirement of concurrent engineering and its range covers a more spreaded area. The aim of this paper is saving the manufacturing lead time and cost of plastic parts having hollow space shapes used by prototype-car. Using rapid prototype patterns, made by the Selective Laser Sintering(SLS) technique, a new approach of manufacturing resin-based blow mold is discussed. It has a great potential fur making prototype-car parts with the batch size of under 200 parts, in case of rapid modification due to a subsequent design changes in developing stage. So, the process proposed in this research shows reduction of process time and manufacturing cost when compared with the conventional process such as a Zinc Alloy fur Stamping(ZAS) mold.

  • This paper, A large hair dryer was developed to shorten the drying time of the user's hair. The mechanism that determines the strength and stability of large hair dryer products is 'motor'. In a typical hair dryer to determine the wind speed using a 5V or 12V DC motor, Outer air vents are also great ways to use a long time, power consumption by a single blow. But, In the case of large hair dryers using multiple blows, the aim is to reduce the power consumption by increasing the intensity of the wind speed in a short time. Looking at the simulation results of a typical hair dryer, It was found that women spent an average of 20 minutes and that large hair dryers took an average of 5 minutes. This paper, In order to shorten the average drying time, it is necessary to determine the efficiency of the motor, the blow position of the outer frame, and the power consumption and studied for product development. As a result of the research and simulation, the power consumption is 0.8 times, the wind speed is 1.5 times, and the drying time is about 5 minutes. Therefore, it was found that the large hair dryer developed in this study can maximize the user 's average drying time and the efficiency of the motor.

  • The cleaning characteristics of pulse air jet type cleaning system which is widely applied in the industries were identified by utilizing the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and the cleaning performance in modified shape of dedusting unit was compared in this study. The review on each shape of cleaning part showed that the case of installing the nozzle on the blow tube (Case-3) and the case of installing the double intaking tube to the venturi (Case-4 and Case-5) were more excellent than the structure (Case-1). Also, the optimal venturi shape was designed and examined its applicability to the site in a pilot scale plant. A combined system of a blow tube and a venturi proposed by this study turned out to be very effective for concentrating an cleaning air compared to existing systems, such as using only blow tube and combines the blow tube and venturi. In addition, as a result of installing and testing a venturi proposed by this study, the cleaning frequency and cleaning time were much improved compared to a case of using a commercial venturi that is under use at the industrial sites.

  • The worldwide focus on reducing the emissions, fuel and lubricant consumption in T-GDI engines is leading engineers to consider the crankcase ventilation and oil mist separation system as an important means of control. In today's passenger cars, the oil mist separation systems mainly use the inertia effect (e.g. labyrinth, cyclone etc.). Therefore, this study has investigated high efficiency cylinder head-integrated oil-mist separator by using a compact multi-impactor type oil mist separator system to ensure adequate oil mist separation performance. For this purpose, engine dynamometer testing with oil particle efficiency measurement equipment and 3D two-phase flow simulation have been performed for various engine operating conditions. Tests with an actual engine on a dynamometer showed oil aerosol particle size distributions varied depending on operating conditions. For instance, high rpm and load increases bot only blow-by gases but the amount of small size oil droplets. Submicron-sized particles (less than 0.5 ㎛) were also observed. It is also found that the impactor type separator is able to separate nearly no droplets of diameter lower than 3 ㎛. CFD results showed that the complex aerodynamics processes that lead to strong impingement and break-up can strip out large droplets and generate more small size droplets.

  • Forming of PET bottle was performed by injection-stretch blow molding. Blow molding is process of contacting the dies with air of materials by pressing. In this paper, the aim was to improve reliability of technical stabilization for the PET bottle that is last productive product and process technology which was able to do maximization by a preform performance enhancement of the uniform thickness that took temperature and a characteristic of materials. Preform design and dies manufacture were conducted using injection blow molding analysis results. Therefore thickness error of 5% for PET bottle can be obtained in this paper.

  • 산업통상자원부가 주최하고 한국생산기술연구원 패키징기술센터가 주관하는 '제11회 미래패키징 신기술 정부포상' 시상식이 4월1 8일 경기도 일산 KINTEX 그랜드볼룸에서 열렸다. 국내 최고 권위의 패키징 종합 행사인 '미래패키징 신기술 정부포상'은 관련 산업 종사자의 긍지를 높이고 기술혁신 분위기를 확산하기 위해 2007년부터 한국생산기술연구원(원장 이성일, 이하 생기원)이 매년 개최해온 행사다. 11회를 맞이한 올해에는 (주)휴비스의 'PET 발포 패키징'이 대상인 국무총리상을 수상했다. 산업부장관상은 메디클란트의 '일회용 콘텍트렌즈 패키지', 신우코스텍의 '인몰드 3D 라벨 PET패키징 블로우 성형기', (주)한국콜마의 '힌지 회동에 의한 자동 기립형 팔레트 화장품', 엘지전자(주)의 'LG코드제로 청소기 패키징 디자인' 등이 수상했다. 이밖에 CJ제일제당을 비롯한 9개 기업이 한국생산기술연구원장상을, 2개 기업이 부천시장상, 3개 기업이 한국패키징단체총연합회 회장상, 10개 기업이 한국포장기술사회장상을 수상하는 등 총 43개의 기술 및 제품이 수상작으로 선정됐다. 또한 장형순 삼영잉크페인트제조(주) 고문과 박현진 고려대학교 교수가 국내 포장산업 발전에 기여한 공적을 인정받아 공로 부문에서 산업통상자원부 장관표창을 수여받았다. 올해 수상작들은 안전한 식품 포장소재 개발과 대량생산 상용화, 명확한 라벨링, 경량포장 확대, 재활용재료의 사용증가 등 기본에 충실하면서도 기술융합을 통해 패키징의 가치를 높였다는 평가를 받았다. 다음에 제11회 미래패키징 신기술 정부포상 수상작을 살펴보고 최신 국내 패키징 경향에 대해 알아보도록 한다.

  • In this paper, it is purpose to develop a pulsed $CO_2$ laser with stable output at pulse repetition rate range of 2 KHz. We used a IGBT as a switching device. The laser cavity was fabricated as an axial and water cooled type. It was used a ring blower to increase a cooling effect The laser performance characteristics as parameters, such as pulse repetition rate, gas pressure have been investigated. The experiment was done under 3 electrode-type instead of 2 electrode-type. To achieve 3 electrode-type, we used two pulse-transformers which is operated parallel. As a result, the maximum output was about 28 W at the total pressure of 20 Torr, the gas mixture $Co_2$:$N_2$:He=1:9:15 and the pulse repetition rate of 1300 Hz.
