A Study on the Development of Model and Application Case of Water Screen Effect for Fire Behavior Simulation in Road Tunnel (도로터널 화재성상 시뮬레이션을 위한 워터스크린 효과 모델개발 및 적용사례)

  • 워터스크린(이하 W/S)에 의한 화재방화시스템은 도로터널에 화재가 발생시, 공간에 수막을 사용하여 구획화하고, 열 연기의 확산을 억제하며 유해 부유입자를 세정함으로서 인간의 안전을 확보 및 구조물의 피해를 극소화 하는 시스템이다. 이 W/S에 의한 구획의 성능을 평가하기 위해, 1/2의 터널 모형에 의한 공간 내 열 성장 파악을 위한 화재 실험을 분석하였고, 그 결과, 천정 근방 온도 및 방사수열량으로서는 발열 속도의 크기, 풍속의 대소에 의하지 않고 약 80%의 저감율을 나타냈다. 또, 발생한 유해 부유입자 농도에 대해서는 약 60%, 화원 성질과 상태로서 발열 속도는 약30%의 W/S에 의한 저감 효과를 나타내었다.

  • In this paper, an experimental study on the hydroelastic behaviors of a VLFS with L=5,000m was made considering a breakwater. The principal dimensions of the VLFS model were 9m${\times}$1.8${\times}$0.0108m(L${\times}$B${\times}$D) and the length of breakwater was 12.6m (1.4L). The distance between the VLFS and the breakwater varied from B/2 to 28. The wide tank test results were compared with the numerical predictions and the comparison showed a little gap along its longitudinal axis, in spite of using the very small model size due to the scale 1/555.5

  • Warm or waste water discharged from offshore-based facilities often causes environmental polution as it is transported to coastal area due to tidal actions. In this research a floating-type current control structure is introduced in order to reduce the pollutant spreading in the coastal area. Effectivenss of the structure is investigated through the numerical experiment which is based on a 3-D finite difference multi-level scheme. The warm-water spreading in the bay is reduced when the draft of the structure increases and its optimum draft is found to be between 0.25h and 0.65h, where h is the water depth. The proposed structure is also tested in the Gohyun Bay and it ts proven to be applied to controllling pollutant spreading if its draft is properly chosen.

  • In this thesis the legal systems related to real estate and sea area utilization are studied in order to improve them for construction of Very Large Floating Structure. Main research subjects are as follows: 1) Whether can Very Large Floating Structure be accepted or not as real estate like house and land\ulcorner 2) How can the sea area which is occupied by Very Large Floating Structure be utilized\ulcorner As the conclusion, the Very Large Floating Structure can be registered as real estate even though it is not specified by Korean law for the present. The design concept of Very Large Floating Structure can be interpreted as satisfying enough necessary conditions and factors for Very Large Floating Structure to become real estate. In the near future, we have to make improvement on the laws related with the construction of Very Large Floating Structures so that private sectors can joint the construction. In additions, a new law for various floating structures should be made as soon as possible.

  • In this paper, unsettled technical controversies concerning about fatigue strength analysis for FPSO, one of the representative floaters, associated with welding types, screening methods, fabrication tolerances, corrosion margins and Morison loads are described based on yard practices. Basic theory for stochastic fatigue analysis is introduced as detail as possible. In order to resolve large parts of the controversies, a new fully stochastic fatigue analysis program for FPSO is developed.

  • 3-Dimensional panel method is now developed to the level that one can calculate the lift of a three dimensional body with the same accuracy of wind tunnel test and some current codes can consider the boundary layer effects due to the viscosity and unsteady motion in the calculation of lift. This paper is also aimed to develop these kinds of computing programs, and as a beginning, the authors restricted the problems to the steady potential flow cases. The calculation of 3-Dimensional body, wing and tandem wing carried out, using source panel and vortex ring panel. Finally, the interactions between 3-Dimension symmetric body and a wing are also calculated.

  • This paper compared with the hydrodynamic interference acting on the semi-submersible element model with 1-lowerhull and 2-columns. In this case, calculation are applying the strip method and 3-dimensional source distribution method. As the wave frequency and the distance between increase, the influence effects of parts upon each other decrease and approach the results calculated by using the strip method. Thus, it can be prepared for the investigation of new practical method of investigation of new practical method of hydrodynamic forces acting on huge structures.

  • Up to now, Most studies of hydroelasticity are about frequency domain analysis. Those aren't suited for analysis of the landing take-off, and dropping of aircraft on a structure. So, the concern of this paper is the transient behavior of a VLFS subjected to dynamic load, induced by airplane landing and take-off. To predict the added mass, damping coefficient, and wave exciting force, the source-dipole distribution method was used in the frequency domain. The responses are accomplished by using the FEM scheme. A time domain analysis method is based on the Newmark β method to pursue the time step procedure, taking advantage of memory effect function for hydrodynamic effects.

  • This study deals with the case of a fixed floating structure(FFS) at the mouth of a rectangular harbor under the action of waves represented by the linear wave theory. Modified forms of the mild-slope equation is applied to the propagation of regular wave over constant water depth. The model is extended to include bottom friction and boundary absorption. A hybrid element approximation is used for calculation of linear wave oscillation in and near coastal harbor. Modification of the model was necessary for the FFS. For the conditions tested, the results of laboratory experiments by Ippen and Goda(1963), and Lee (1969) are compared with the calculated one from this model. The cases of flat cylinderical structures, both fixed and floating, were taken to be in an intermediate water depth.

  • The aim of this study was to improve the vertical motion performance of floating marina structures and to optimize the shapes of the structures for the Korea coastal environment. The floating body is connected to a plate-shaped submerged body through a connecting line under the water that has a stiff spring that serves to reduce the heave response. This system, which has two degrees of freedom, was modelled to analyze the interaction between the floating body and the submerged body. The vertical motion of the two-body system was compared with the motion of a single body to verify that the system could perform as an optimized model.
