Foreigner's Spatial Change and Relationality to Industrial Workers in Busan Metropolitan City, 2000~2015 Year (부산광역시 외국인의 공간변화 그리고 산업종사자와 관계, 2000~2015년)

  • The aim of this study is to investigate foreigner's spatial change and relations to industrial workers in the sixteen districts of Busan metropolitan city from 2000 year to 2015 year. To achieve the goal, the data published in Pusan Statistical Yearbook was analyzed by descriptive and inferential statistics. The results are summarized in the followings. Firstly, the spatial changes of foreigners as a whole during 2000~2015 year are different based on their nationality. Secondly, foreigner's spatial change based on nationality and gender is much complex. The meaning of foreigner's spatial change in each district tested by nonparametric statistics is different according to a time scale. Thirdly, the relationality between foreigners as a whole and industrial workers in the sixteen districts is different by nationality and gender. The study method can be utilized at other cities or regions, and the results of those studies can be helpful to solve various problems due to increasing foreigners.

  • Future of Busan New Port may depend even on the efficient use of the port hinterland. Accordingly, selection of which industry according to which standard in the port hinterland is another task. In order to solve this problem, it analyzed the structure in international division of labor with China and Japan, which are possessing considerable portion in the trading volume with our country, and the export-import structure of Busan Port against China and Japan, by using RCA index and GL index as well as export-import results. In addition to this, the proper industry was selected on the basis of 10 strategic industries for development in Busan. According to the analytical results, the industries, which will be induced in the hinterland of Busan New Port, include textile clothing, pulp printing matter, jewelry, basic metal nonmetallic product, machine lectric product, automobile, shipbuilding, optics accurate machinery medical treatment musical instrument, nano material, fuel battery, aerospace and intelligent robot.

  • 디자인 서비스 산업은 21세기의 국가경제와 지역발전을 주도해 갈 수 있는 성장 산업으로서 현재 부산이 안고 있는 다양한 문제인 기업의 해외이전, 인구감소, 관광자원의 고갈 등을 해결할 수 있는 방법으로 디자인 서비스 구축을 통한 발전방향을 제시하는 연구의 목적으로 한다. 연구방법에 있어서는 Online조사를 이용한 부산시의 특성에 대한 일반적인 견해를 조사하고, Offline 조사로 자국인 및 외국인(주둔 외국인)을 대상으로 인터뷰를 실시한다. 또한, 부산시가 가지고 있는 인상을 평가하기 위하여 SD법을 이용하고 분석을 실시하여 정량화된 데이터를 바탕으로 부산시의 디자인 서비스에 대한 방향과 방법을 제시하였다.

부산남항 수변경관 현황분석 연구

  • 항만경관은 항만의 특징을 드러내는 매력적인 요소로서 항만재개발에 있어 중요한 요소가 되고있다. 최근에는 항만재개발사업에 있어 항만경관의 중요성을 인식하고 항만 고유의 특색을 살린 수변경관계획 수립을 통해 수변경관을 개선함으로서 사람들이 모이는 매력적인 항만으로 변모하고자 한다. 도심의 친수공간으로서 잠재력이 큰 부산남항은 다양한 수변공간계획 및 개발사업이 추진되고 있지만 관련 기존 항만개발사업은 기능성과 경제성에 초점이 맞추어져 있어 수변경관에 대한 고려가 매우 부족한 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구는 부산남항의 경관을 개선하고 매력적인 항만으로 변모하기 위한 수변경관계획 수립을 하기 위해 기초자료 수집을 목적으로 부산남항을 7개 지구로 구분하고 각 지구의 수변경관(색채, 랜드마크, 야간경관) 현황을 조사하였으며, 조사결과를 토대로 지구별 수변경관의 문제점을 분석하고 개선대책을 제시하였다.

Analysis of Correlation between the Budget Allocation to the Busan-Gwangyang Port and the Political Variables (부산.광양항의 예산배분과 정치적 변수에 대한 상관관계 분석)

  • The purpose of this paper is to analyze the relationship between the budget allocation of Busan-Gwangyang port and political variables such as general election, presidential election, local election and political regimes. To do this, this study did correlation analyses using budget data of all ports in Korea, Busan, and Gwangyang during 1985-2007. The main results of the correlation analyses are as follow: First, there was a positive correlation between budget of Busan and local election. Also, there was a positive correlation between budget of Gwangyang and presidential election. This results suggest that public choice model and political business cycle model seem to apply to the port development policy. Second, there was no correlation between the regionalism of the political regime and budget of Busan-Gwangyang ports. Third, it can be inferred that the national agenda of the hub strategy can be positively related to the implementation of port development budget. Further studies are needed to analyse the relationship between the political variables and establishment of port plan, decision making about port development and ground-breaking of port construction.

  • This study focuses on analyzing the economic effects and probes the necessity of establishing a customs free zone at the Port of Busan. It first considers the economic effects of establishing a customs free zone at the Port of Busan, then suggests policy prescriptions for introducing and operating the free zone system and improving the logistics functions of the Port. The timeline of this study is focused on 2007, when all of Busan Port will operate as a customs free zone and the first stage of the New Busan Port and distribution parks will be built and opened for operation. The regression analysis, which was conducted using the inter-industry relations table(input-output table data), provided a quantitative prediction on the effects of making Busan Port into a customs free zone. Regarding the impact of a free zone system on the domestic and regional economy, this research found that the impact of a customs free zone on domestic industries and the regional economy once the customs free zone is established throughout all of Busan Port would be highly positive. The positive economic effects on the domestic and Busan regional economy might be further strengthened if the value-added logistics function of Busan Port could be supplemented by effective linking to the hinterlands.

Empirical Analysis on Rational Bubbles in Ship Prices (선박가격의 합리적 거품에 대한 실증 분석)

  • This study empirically tests the presence of rational bubbles in the ship prices using time series data from October 1996 to April 2017. To detect the existence of ship prices' rational bubbles, we use integration and cointegration tests, which were proposed by Campbell and Shiller(1987) and Diba and Grossman(1988), for circumventing misspecification of ship price model and applying the bubble test to nonstationary time series. The result of integration test supports existence of tanker price's rational bubble. The co-integration test also shows that drybulk ship and containership prices have been overvalued relative to the market fundamental, drybulk and container freight rates, due to non-stationary rational bubbles. These results provide Korean shipping industry and authorities implications that anticyclical ship investment and long-term and steady fleet capacity expansion policy are needed.
