This study analyzed the policies related to parents in child care centers from 1991 to 2013 as shown in the guidance for child care business book published by the government and accredited journals by the National Research Foundation. Policies related to parents in child care centers were divided into the following periods: 1) the period of passive parent education focused on low-income families (1991-1994), 2) the period of relief for dual-income families (1995-1997), 3) the period of relief for adoption families and the practice of child care support services (2004-2007), 4) the period of active parent involvement (2008-2013). On the other hand, the research trends of parent education in child-care centers were as follows: 1) the survey of parent education was the most common at first, 2) the studies of the role and disposition of parents occupied the bulk, 3) the studies of parents' needs and satisfaction on parent involvement appeared plenty, 4) the studies of the personalized parent education increased. Consequently, the need for home care services and the importance of parents' education were suggested.

This study was to analyze the general trends and the effects of parent education programs in accordance with operating methods, contents, and goals by using meta-analysis. The subjects were the studies about the effects of education programs for parents who have young and school-aged children, 41 and 15 respectively. The results showed that the trends of the operating methods in both groups did not have many differences. Also, on the contents and goals of the programs, parenting related factor was treated the most in both groups. Second, the overall effects of the parent education programs were higher on those for parents with school-aged children than parents with young children. -When parents together, not separately, participated in program, the effect size was the largest. However, the effects of other operating methods factors like number of subjects, hours per session, and number of sessions showed inconsistent results. On the effects of contents and goals, the effect of self-system competency factor as psychological characteristics was the highest in the programs for parents with young children and the effect of parenting competency factor was the highest for the ones with school-aged children. This study has implications for providing basic data for developing effective programs for parents with young and school-aged children.
Few studies have done on the intergenerational relations of married women and their own parents in Japan. This study approaches the topic by examining coresidence and contact frequency between generations. The study expects the likelihood of living together (including living next door) and the extent of contact would differ by the characteristics of woman, her husband, children, her brothers and sisters, her own parents and parents-in-law. From the 2003 Survey for National Family Research in Japan, selected are 853 currently married women in their 30s and 40s whose parent and parents-in-law are alive. The analysis shows that the likelihood of living together with parents decreases as the number of brothers and sisters increases. In particular, the presence of brother substantially decreases the likelihood. Having father only alive (vs. having both parents alive) also increases the likelihood. The frequency of contact with parents is conditioned by the coresidence with parents-in-law. It also differs by the level of education and its gap between spouses. Subjective evaluation of husband's attitude toward her parents is important. As in the case of living together, the number of brothers and sisters and the survival status of parents are significant in explaining the frequency of contact with her parents. The results indicate that number of brothers and sisters as well as widowhood of parents serves as its demographic condition. The findings that the frequency of contact with parent are affected by coresidene with parents-in-law, education gap between spouses and husband's attitude toward her parents suggest that the relationship of married women with her own parents are conditioned by her husband and his parents.

The influence of classes on parent-child relationship was measured in terms of the understanding of the middle age, degrees of interaction, affection, and bond with parents. In order to analyze the impact of classes, pre- and post-class online surveys were conducted on 184 students who agreed to participate. For the collected quantitative data, descriptive statistics, reliability analysis, and pairwise t-tests were performed using the SPSS Ver 22.0 statistical program. According to the results, students' understanding of the developmental characteristics of middle age increased and the interaction between the students and their parents increased after the class. And the overall affection with the mother increased significantly. Also, students' bonds with both mother and father were significantly improved. The increase in the number of higher education graduates and of working couples have been improving the quality of parenting and the economic situation of parenting. The relationship between family members, which consists of child rearing support and family health in conversation and play, has been improving as well. This study analyzes the impact of parental level and the family relationship on the spending in private education in households with elementary students. For the analysis, this study focuses on the mediation of parental efficacy and parenting anxiety, through which family relationship and parental level affect elementary private education. Data of 1,075 parents with children aged 6 to 11 from 2018 Children's Comprehensive Survey are used in statistical analysis via PLS structural equation. This study shows that family relationship and parental level had have a positive effect on parental efficacy, and family relationship, parental level and parental efficacy had have a negative impact on parenting anxiety. It is also confirmed that parental level has a positive effect on private education, and that parental efficacy has a negative impact on private education. Family relationship and parental level affects parenting anxiety and private education through the mediation of parental efficacy. This study finds that improving parents' economic and educational level in the overheated private education atmosphere increases private education, but improving parental efficacy from good family relationship lowers parenting anxiety and private education. These results are expected to provide theoretical and practical implications for balancing children's education and family happiness from a knowledge management perspective.

The purpose of this study was to develop and empirically evaluate a theoretical model that delineated the processes whereby parents' socioeconomic status affected students'academic achievement via parental support and students' ego-resilience. The proposed model was tested with the first and second wave of a cohort sample of the first grade middle school students from the Korean Children Youth Panel survey by using linear structural relations techniques. The results of analysis showed firstly that parents' socioeconomic status, parental support and students' ego-resilience directly affected the level of students'academic achievement with statistical significance. Secondly, parental support, the proxy of social capital of the family, was contingent upon the parents'socioeconomic status. Thirdly, in addition to its direct effect, parents'socioeconomic status gave indirect effect on students' academic performance through parental support and ego-resilience. Based upon these results implications for social work intervention were provided.
