We used 1,385 students' data collected from the Korean Youth General Survey, and analyzed by multiple group analysis of structural equation. The results showed that elementary school students' relationship with parents or teachers did not play a mediative role. But the middle school students' relationship with parents or teachers play a negative mediative role. It means that if students were damaged by school violence, elementary school students' parents and teachers did not play a specific role but middle school students' parents and teachers caused more depression. Based on these results, some implications for parents and teachers about school violence and depression were suggested.

The subjects were 748 students(male 323, female 425) who were currently enrolled at university located in Seoul. The instruments used for this study were Filial Obligation Scale(Cho, 2002), Parenting Beliefs Questionnaire, and Value of Children by Arnold et al.(1975, 2001). Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, and Pearson's correlations by SPSS PC Program. The results showed that university students generally demonstrated a higher level of individual-oriented beliefs than relation-oriented beliefs on parental beliefs. With regard to parental beliefs, family relation-oriented beliefs was relatively low in comparison with independence/autonomy-oriented beliefs, happiness-oriented beliefs, and cognition/knowledge-oriented beliefs. In addition, emotional value of children was relatively high in comparison with instrumental value of children. Also, male university students possessed a higher level of filial obligation. the level of cohabitation experience with their parents played a significant role in affecting the level of filial obligation. Unsurprisingly, a higher relation-oriented parental beliefs and emotional value of children demonstrated a higher level of filial obligation. There were also positive relationships between emotional value, instrumental value, and filial obligation. Hence, this study suggests that a practical, functional training services and resources for future parents must be ensued.

Each week for 5 weeks, 10 parents of 10 children with ASD (aged 3 to 9 years) received weekly 30-minute personalized lessons on how to implement the home-based music program and implemented the educated music program at home with activities involving receptive and active engagement. On average, the parents conducted the music program 2.5 times a week for about 9.2 minutes per session. At the end of the 5 weeks, parents reported increased comfort and effectiveness in interacting with their child through music. In addition, positive changes were noted on the Parenting Sense of Competence Scale and the closeness aspect of the parent-child relationship. Participants affirmed the program's feasibility, emphasizing its potential for supporting families with children with ASD. These results provide foundational data for future home-based music activities and programs, emphasizing the importance of tailoring interventions to the unique needs of families with children with ASD.

  • The purpose of this study is to verify the relationship between parents' adult attachment, resilience, and psychological well-being, as it is inferred that infants and toddlers attending daycare centers will be directly or indirectly affected by their parents' adult attachment type. For this study, a total of 247 copies of the SPSS 12.0 statistical program were used for analysis, except for 43 copies where data were omitted after a questionnaire was conducted on 300 parents (150 parents and 150 mothers) of daycare centers located in Gyeonggi Province. Looking at the results of this study, first, it was confirmed that the general characteristics of parental adult attachment, self-recovery elasticity, and psychological well-being stimulate normality statistically. Second, the relationship between adult attachment and self-recovery elasticity was verified as a negative relationship, and it was confirmed that it had a significant effect. Third, it was confirmed that the relationship between adult attachment and psychological well-being was verified as a negative relationship and had a significant effect. As a follow-up study, we propose a phenomenological study of the mediating effect of psychological well-being on the influence of parents' adult attachment on self-recovery elasticity, parental attachment, resilience, and psychological well-being with infants and toddlers.

  • Given the 4 contexts-parents, friends, teachers and community- of adolescents, this research verified the casual relationships between each contextual support and the suicidal impulse, and the gender difference. The 4-year longitudinal data(KYPS) collected from 3,697 adolescents were used in this study. Using the Autoregressive Cross-Lagged Model, the suicidal impulse was consistently present from the 3rd grade in middle school to the 3rd grade in high school with significant stability. Gender differences were founded in the effect of parental support among the 3rd grade in middle school. Also the negative effect of friends' support on the suicidal impulse among the first grade high school students. The effects were more stronger for girls than boys. Previous supports by teachers and community had no significant effects on later suicidal impulses. These results suggest that the study of suicidal impulse needs to examine the complex support system of multiple context layers.
