The study is a user experience design study on the function of action cams used for leisure activities that have been on the rise recently. Along with the video platforms that are developing in a user-friendly way, the size of the action cam market is also growing. However, there is a lack of research on the quality of a function that enhances the user experience. Thus, this study classified action cam functions according to user experience elements by using Kano Model's analysis method and in-depth interview, and analyzed how the quality of action cam functions affects the user experience by conducting a satisfaction survey by function. The results of the study have shown which functions should be improved first and which functions should be continuously researched and invested. I hope this study will contribute useful information to developing user-centered action cams.

In this paper, we developed an algorithm of generating cam contour curve for hinge mechanism of folder-type mobile phone. The main feature of this hinge mechanism is that we can operate uniform torque to open or close the mobile phone. We divided the opening or closing intervals of the cam into finite sub-intervals, and then we determined the cam contour curve of each sub-interval as a parabolic curve. Finally, these finite parabolic curves form the total cam contour. We can design single cam, which composed moving cam with contour curve and fixed cam that plays only roller, and twin cam with contour curve that is made up the pair of two cams symmetrically.

For linkage mechanisms driven by a cam, cam profile is the major design factor and is determined by the cam follower motion. If a cam mechanism has additional kinematic linkage besides cam and follower then the follower motion should be specified from the motion of end linkage member so that cam would be able to generate the desired end linkage motion. In this paper, a cam-linkage mechanism is constructed with the combinations of modular linkage elements including cam and follower and as a result, a planar cam-linkage mechanism design software with the cam profile optimization function is developed and presented.

The cam is used to a main component in a variety of automatic machines and instruments. To meet the demand of a complicated operation and of reducing weight for automatic machine, Curve Blending Technology, in which each of the basic curves suitable for individual interval is connected, is used for the cam design. In the curve blending, it is necessary to select appropriate elementary curve for each interval and to confirm the dynamic continuity at connecting points between adjoining elementary curves. This paper represented the elementary curve selection method to select an appropriate curve for each interval, and executed computation for the follower displacement and angular displacement of each interval. The paper made an analysis and examine closely for elementary curves to synthesizing curve blending, and it performed dynamic conditions clearly at every points on the cam motions. Therefore the curve blending technology presented by the paper turned into easier work.

The paper presents the influence of spring dynamics and friction on dynamic responses in a spring-driven cam system. The characteristics of the friction on the camshaft are analyzed using the nonlinear pendulum experiment while the parameters of the friction model are estimated using the optimization technique. The analysis reveals that the friction of the camshaft depends on stick-slip, Stribeck effect and viscous damping. Spring elements are found to have much influence on the dynamic characteristics. Hence, they are modeled as four-degree-of-freedom lumped masses with equivalent springs. The appropriateness of the derived friction model and spring model is verified by its application to a vacuum circuit breaker mechanism of the cam-follower type.
Tribological properties of fiber composite materials were measured and wear resistant hybrid structure was proposed based upon the understanding of tribological behavior of the composite materials. Unidirectional composites with glass fibers, carbon fibers, and aramid fibers were tested for tribological properties in order to propose a wear resistant hybrid structure. Hybrid composites which contain carbon and aramid fibers were prepared, the specimens were sliced by a water-jet cutter, and friction and wear properties were measured. An experimental set-up was designed and built for the friction and wear test of the composite specimens. Unidirectional fiber composite and hybrid composite specimens were tested to evaluated the tribological behavior for biomimetic applications. It is observed that the friction and wear behavior of fiber composites depends upon fiber orientation, sliding speed, and type of reinforcing fibers.
The purpose of this study is to implement various movements of multiple objects using a small number of power devices in producing a kinetic design, achieving an effect similar to a work comprised of multiple objects controlled using multiple power devices. While it is more typical to control various objects using multiple power devices, the use of multiple devices leads to higher costs and heavier overall weight. In addition, more power is required to operate the multiple power devices. This study applied a mechanism that allows multiple objects to perform various movements using a small number of power devices. The mechanism significantly reduces overall weight and power consumption. In addition, various movements could be expressed by increasing the rows and columns of objects through the use of the camshaft structure that changed the position and shape of the cam and the use of bevel gears. The significance of this study lies in presenting a new method of controlling multiple objects for designers involved in kinetic design.
In this study, the operational characteristics of a cam-type vegetable transplanter which usually used in domestic was analyzed and operating mechanism of a transplanting device was analyzed. The main components and power path of the transplanter were analyzed. The maximum and minimum control cycles according to the moving speed and the plant spacing were analyzed. 3D modeling and simulation were performed to derive the trajectory of the bottom end of the transplanting hopper and the plant spacing at the each operating condition. The simulation results were verified by the field tests. As main findings of this study, the transplanting device has one degree of freedom (DOF) which consist of 13 links, 17 rotating joints and 1 half joint, and each part has composite structure with cam and links. By continuous and repetitive motion of the structures of transplanting device, the transplanting hopper plants the seedling in the ground with a vertical direction, and the seedling was planted stably. The power is transmitted to the driving part and transplanting device from the engine, and the maximum and minimum plant spacing of the transplanting device were about 900 mm and 350 mm, respectively.

Bending is one of the most common cold-stamping operations, recently it is many used to produce structural frame. Depending on the shape and dimensions of complex structural frame, a successive bending operation with simple dies may be economic. But, in this paper, it has been focused to reduce the bending operations by a successive-action compound die. Designed compound-die consists of blank-holder, cam, wedge and etc. In the result, this compound-die for structural frame enabled that it makes seven bending processes into one process, and improved productivity.

To enhance machining efficiency, tool exchange time have to be reduced. Most automatic tool changer is made up of compound cam and motor. it is not easy to design and manufacture compound cam, and it has no flexibility. But if servo motor is used, it is easy to changer is developed with servo motor, clutch, ball-screw and spline nut. Experimental results show that automatic tool changer designed with servo motor have good faculties.
