Real-Time Port Logistics Location Tracking System using IP-RFID (IP-RFID를 이용한 실시간 항만물류 위치 추적 시스템)

  • In maritime logistics, a large number of containers are transported to the destination through a port in the form of composite transportation such as ships, trucks, and railways. Logistics parties such as shipping companies and consignors prefer having the real-time information on the entry and exit of the logistics hubs of the freight. Particularly, a port is an important space that connects the maritime and inland areas. Hence, the interest about freight of the logistics party in port is high. This study describes tracking the location of freight by using GPS dynamically based on area type rather than point type. This presents dynamic information of location tracking when the freight enters, exits from, and passes through a certain port area. I suggest a real-time location of the container cargos tracking algorithm in port-entry, port-exit, and port inside using Active IP-RFID technology based on the location tracking algorithm of previous research.

Power System Optimization for Electric Hybrid Unmanned Drone (전동 하이브리드 무인 드론의 동력 계통 최적화)

  • For drones to be used for industrial or agricultural applications, it is necessary to increase the payload and endurance. Currently, the payload and endurance are limited by the battery technology for electric powered drones. In addition, charging or replacing the batteries may not be a practical solution at the field that requires near continuous operation. In this paper, a procedure to optimize the power system of an electric hybrid drone that consists of an internal combustion engine, a generator, a battery, and electric motors is presented. The example drone for crop dusting is sized for easy transportation with a maximum takeoff weight of 200 kg. The two main rotors that are mechanically connected to the internal combustion engine provides most of the lift. The drone is controled by four electric motors that are driven by the generator. By analyzing the flow of the energy, a methodology to select the optimum propeller and motor among the commercially available models is described. Then, a procedure of finding the optimum operational condition along with the proper gear reduction ratios for the internal combustion engine based on the test data is presented.

  • The small electric vehicles equipped with V2X(vehicle to everything) systems may provide more information and function to the existing navigation system of the vehicle. The key components of V2X technology include V2V (vehicle to vehicle), V2N(vehicle to network) and V2I (vehicle to infrastructure). This study is to design and implementation of VI type E-PTO which is interfaced with external equipments, the work designs the components of E-PTO such as DC/DC converter, DC/AC converter, battery bidirectional charging system etc. Also, it implements the devices and control systems for driving. The test results of VI type E-PTO components showed allowable 10% requirements of transient voltage variation rate and recovery time within 100ms for start/stop and normal operation.

Logistic Performance Impact on FDI Inflow in Developing Countries (물류성과가 개발도상국가의 외국인직접투자에 미치는 영향 분석)

  • Logistic costs refer to trade costs, but it could influence FDI as well as global trade. Multinational corporations choose the geographic organization to produce their products. Therefore, it involves many countries to produce one product. International trade between countries more frequently involves the trade of raw materials, components, and unfinished goods. This implies that countries with better logistic performance are attractive for investment because of low transaction costs. Using the logistic performance index provided from the World Bank, this paper investigates the impacts of logistic performance on FDI inflow to developing countries. Results show that infrastructure and timeliness have a positive effects on FDI inflow to low income countries. In the case of middle income countries, timeliness has a negative effect on FDI inflow. This discrepancy between the low- and middle- income countries comes from the different motivation. FDI for low income countries primarily attempts to minimize labor costs. However, FDI for middle-income countries seems to be motivated to reduce labor costs and expand sales markets. FDI inflow in low-income countries serves as part of the offshoring or global outsourcing of multinational corporation.

  • Railway system as a mass transportation is under progress to smart railway system beyond high speed and automation era. Communication network technology including 5G-R(5th Generation - Railway) mobile communication technology and information convergence technology of Big Data, Deep Learnig, AI(Artificial Intelliegnce) and Block Chain have to be used for implementation and operation of this smart railway system. In this paper, a communication network structure is suggested for this smart railway system. This suggested smart railway commnuication network structure is composed with layered structure of plane unit for safety operation of high speed railway, railway system management and customer services, and also have some complexed function of each plane. Results of this study can be used for smart railway communication network implementation, operation and managements, development of railway communication standards.

  • 2022년 7월 8일 일본 전 총리 아베는 나라현의 야마토사이다이지 역에서 야마가미 데스야의 사제총격에 심각한 총상을 입고 과다출혈로 사망하였다. 다중이용시설에서의 테러안전관리 미흡으로 인해 발생한 본 사건은 다중이용시설 테러안전관리의 중요성을 보여주는 대표적인 테러사례이다. 국내와 유사한 테러환경을 갖춘 인접국가 일본 발생한 테러사건이므로, 국내 다중이용시설 테러안전관리에 대한 경각심을 일깨워 주고 있다. 대한민국은 세계적으로 높은 인구밀도와 원스톱 서비스의 선호 욕구로 인해 대부분의 다중이용시설들은 운송·판매·문화 및 집회 등의 기능이 다양하게 복합된 시설로 발전해 가고 있어, 테러리스트의 테러대상 선정의 3가지 요건인 접근성(Easy-Access), 상징성(symbolism), 미디어 집중성(Media Attention)을 갖춘 매력적인 테러대상시설이 되어 가고 있다. 또한, 최근 국제테러 동향을 살펴보면, 국가중요시설, 군사시설과 같은 하드 타겟(Hard Target)보다 엔터테인먼트, 문화, 관람, 카지노, 시장, 플라자, 광장, 소매점, 대형마트 등의 판매·문화 및 집회시설인 소프트 타겟(Soft Target)에서 고 위험성의 테러가 높은 빈도로 발생하고 있는 추세로 다중이용시설은 테러안전관리가 절대적으로 필요해져 가고 있다. 이에 반해, 국내 다중이용시설 테러안전관리를 위한 지도·점검 및 시설 취약요인 사전제거 활동 등 대부분의 대테러 활동이 미흡한 실정이다. 국내에서 소프트 타겟은 『테러방지법 제25조 시행령』(테러대상시설 및 테러이용수단 안전 대책 수립)과 『테러대상시설 및 테러이용수단 시설의 안전대책에 관한 규정』에 따라 정부에서는 대테러 활동을 매년 상시적으로 하고 있지만, 아직까지 부족한 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 현 다중이용시설의 테러안전관리 문제점과 취약점을 살펴보고, 이에 대한 개선방안을 제시하고자 하였다.

A Study on the Function Overlap and Irrational Hierarchy System of Logistics Complexes of Inland Base: Focusing on the Case of the Integrated Freight Terminal in the Yeongnam Area (내륙 거점 물류단지 기능중첩 및 연계체계 불합리성에 관한 연구: 영남권 복합물류 터미널을 사례로)

  • The advancement in technology including transportation and information communication has accelerated the flow of supplies, and the importance of the national logistics policy has increased following the expansion of the regional range of logistics to a national range. The rapid growth of the domestic logistics market results in the deficit of logistics facilities, inefficient operation of logistics facilities, and a complicated distribution structure. It has precipitated a plan aimed at efficiency improvement by building base logistics facilities, but this market is now undergoing difficulties due to low performance. Many studies on the revitalization of base logistics facilities have been conducted, but a causal analysis focusing on the function overlap of private logistics businesses has been absent. Therefore, this study has analyzed the function overlap of logistics facilities and the irrationality of the system, which resulted from the lost function of Inland Freight bases in the Yeongnam region. By suggesting the cause of disuse of base logistics complexes from the function overlap in the ground transportation of domestic freight, the study can provide the policy implication for the national logistics infrastructure.

The Characteristics of South Korea's New Northern Policy and Cooperation with Eurasia Countries' Initiatives Focused on China, Mongolia and Russia (한국 신(新)북방정책과 유라시아 주요 국가와의 협력방안 모색 - 중국, 몽골, 러시아를 중심으로 -)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the main features of South Korea's New Northern Policy and to make some suggestions for cooperation with neighboring countries' initiatives. The New Northern Policy encompasses the whole of Eurasia, but the starting development area would be the border region of the Korean Peninsula. In this viewpoint, this study examines the Belt and Road Initiative of China, the New Eastern Policy of Russia and the Steppe Road Initiative of Mongolia, and presents the characteristics, problems and some implementation strategies of the New Northern Policy. Apart from the future possibilities of the regional cooperations that include North Korea, it would be necessary for South Korea to secure and expand the possible opportunities for "Korea-China-Mongolia-Russia" cooperation. In order to create a close cooperative environment with North Korea in the future, it would also be necessary to build a maritime route, with port development around major border regions on the Korean Peninsula, including Russia, and to develop the port-railway intermodal transportation system with neighboring countries. South Korea need to actively cooperate with neighboring countries to develop the new Eurasia logistics routes would be more favorable to the Korean Peninsula in preparation for the time when the North Korean nuclear issue will be resolved.

Performance Evaluation of Advance Warning System for Transporting Hazardous Materials (위험물 운송을 위한 조기경보시스뎀 성능평가)

  • Truck Shipment Safety Information, which is a part of the development of NERIS is divided into Optimal Route Guidance System and Emergency Response System. This research is for establishing an advance warning system, which aims for preventing damages(fire, explosion, gas-escape etc.) and detecting incidents that are able to happen during transporting hazardous materials in advance through monitoring the position of moving vehicles and the state of hazardous materials in real-time. This research is peformed to confirm the practical possibility of application of the advance warning system that monitors whether the hazardous materials transport vehicles move the allowed routes, finds the time and the location of incidents of the vehicles promptly and develops the emergency system that is able to respond to the incidents as well by using the technologies of CPS, CDMA and CIS with testing the ability of performance. As the results of the test, communication accuracies are 99$\%$ in freeway, 96$\%$ in arterial, 97$\%$ in hilly sections, 99$\%$ in normal sections, 96$\%$ in local sections, 99$\%$ in urban sections and 98$\%$ in tunnels. According to those results, the system has been recorded a high success rate of communication that enough to apply to the real site. However, the weak point appeared through the testing is that the system has a limitation of communication that is caused in the rural areas and certain areas where are fewer antennas that make communication possible between on-board unit and management server. Consequently, for the practical use of this system, it is essential to develop the exclusive en-board unit for the vehicles and find the method that supplements the receiving limitation of the GPS coordinates inside tunnels. Additionally, this system can be used to regulate illegal acts automatically such as illegal negligence of hazardous materials. And the system can be applied to the study about an application scheme as a guideline for transporting hazardous materials because there is no certain management system and act of toxic substances in Korea.

Correlation Analysis of Cause factor through Ship Collision Accident, and Cause factor Analysis through Collision Time (선박 충돌사고의 원인요소 간 상관관계 및 충돌시간에 따른 원인요소 분석)

  • Enlargement and speed-up of a ship and diversification of ship's type have served to greatly increase the importance of marine transport means. It's reported that accident occurrence frequency of collision is high next to engine damage among the ship accident types, and that the accident ratio according to human factors is also high. In addition, ship accidents come to occur caused by complex cause factors rather than a sole cause factor, it is necessary to investigate the cause factors through the written verdict. This study proposed the cause factors of collision ship accident on the basis of human factors in collision ship accident among the written verdicts provided by the Korean Maritime Safety Tribunal, and inquired into the cause factor and effect through the correlation analysis of accident occurrence factors. Also, this study predicted the collision accident through analyzed the major cause factor of the occurrence at the zero minute when collision on the basis of the time taken from the time point of detecting collision of ships to the time point of collision occurrence. This study used commercial software-Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS Ver21.0) to do correlation analysis. For time analysis, this study analyzed the cause factor and time by analyzing the time taken from the time point of detected ships to the time point of collision occurrence on the basis of the written verdicts. The study analysis showed that there were many cases of collision ship accidents occurrence caused by more than two sorts of cause factors, and that the case (zero minute) where there is no time to spare for collision avoidance accounted for 36.1 %, and negligence in guard or surveillance of the other ship, and sailing while drowsy, or drinking was a contributor to an accident. Poor watch keeping is very strong relationship with pool ready for sail.
