Development and Assessment of Crashworthy Composite Subfloor for Rotorcrafts (회전익 항공기용 복합재 내추락 하부동체 구조 개발 및 검증)

  • Rotorcrafts have more severe crashworthiness conditions than fixed wing aircraft owing to VTOL and hovering. Recently, with the increasing demand for highly efficient transportation system, application of composite materials to aircraft structures is increasing. However, due to the characteristics of composite materials that are susceptible to impact and crash, demand to prove the crashworthiness of composite structures is also increasing. The purpose of present study is to derive the structural concept of composite subfloor for rotorcrafts and verify it. In order to design a crashworthy composite subfloor, the conceptual design of the testbed helicopter for the demonstration and the derivation of energy absorbing requirement were carried out, and the composite energy absorber was designed and verified. Finally, the testbed for the demonstration of a crashworthy composite structure was fabricated, and performed free drop test. It was confirmed that the test results meet the criteria for ensuring occupant survivability.

Design comparison of Fixed Offshore Structures Designed by WSD and LRFD Methods (허용응력설계법 및 하중저항계수설계법에 의한 고정식 해양구조물 설계결과 비교 )

  • When designing fixed jacket structures, overseas design standards are applied due to the absence of domestic design methods. Although the US API standards are mainly applied, API RP 2A suggests two design methods: the allowable stress design method (WSD) and the load resistance coefficient method (LRFD), and is applied according to the designer's judgment. In this study, the stress ratio of the two design methods was reviewed and compared using SACS, an analysis program dedicated to marine structures, for fixed marine structures actually installed on the domestic coast. As a result of the review, it was found that the LRFD design method showed a greater stress ratio for extreme load analysis and transportation analysis, and the WSD design method showed a greater stress ratio for loading and lifting. Therefore, when applying the design method, it is considered appropriate to select the final design method considering safety and economic feasibility after conducting an applicability review for the two design methods.

  • The present study provides structural design and analysis of main wing and horizontal tail of a small scale WIG(Wing in Ground Effect) vehicle which has been developed as a part of the high speed maritime transportation system for the future of Korea. Weight saving as well as structural stability could be achieved by skin-spar with foam sandwich design and with wide application of carbon/epoxy composite material. A commercial FEM code, NASTRAN, was utilized to confirm the structural safety and stability through sequential design modifications to meet the final design goal. In addition, each wing and the fuselage were fastened together by eight insert bolts with high strength to accomodate easy assembling and disassembling as well as to guarantee a service life longer than 20 years.

  • The container terminal is the unified transportation system which connects between a land transportation and a sea transportation. This system has many subsystems such as ship operation, yard transfer operation, yard storage system, gate operation, and information manage system. This paper presents a method of modeling a simulator with which user can evaluate the efficiency of the equipment and allocation policies in the container terminal. The final purpose is to estimate the efficiency of each equipments and the distribution policies. In a design step in the simulator development. We suggest the Object Oriented method with which the developer can easily design, because the object oriented method has the advantages of reusability and modularity.

  • The small electric vehicles equipped with V2X(vehicle to everything) systems may provide more information and function to the existing navigation system of the vehicle. The key components of V2X technology include V2V (vehicle to vehicle), V2N(vehicle to network) and V2I (vehicle to infrastructure). This study is to design and implementation of VI type E-PTO which is interfaced with external equipments, the work designs the components of E-PTO such as DC/DC converter, DC/AC converter, battery bidirectional charging system etc. Also, it implements the devices and control systems for driving. The test results of VI type E-PTO components showed allowable 10% requirements of transient voltage variation rate and recovery time within 100ms for start/stop and normal operation.

  • Railway system as a mass transportation is under progress to smart railway system beyond high speed and automation era. Communication network technology including 5G-R(5th Generation - Railway) mobile communication technology and information convergence technology of Big Data, Deep Learnig, AI(Artificial Intelliegnce) and Block Chain have to be used for implementation and operation of this smart railway system. In this paper, a communication network structure is suggested for this smart railway system. This suggested smart railway commnuication network structure is composed with layered structure of plane unit for safety operation of high speed railway, railway system management and customer services, and also have some complexed function of each plane. Results of this study can be used for smart railway communication network implementation, operation and managements, development of railway communication standards.

  • 수송용 섬유소재는 자동차, 항공기 또는 선박 등의 교통 및 운송 분야에 기여하는 사용되는 섬유소재를 말하며, 내장재, 각종 호스류, 벨트류, 타이어, 안전용품, 필터류 등을 포함하고 일반적으로 섬유, 발포체, 고무, 플라스틱, 접착제 등 유기소재가 결합된 복합체이다. 기존 섬유기술의 혁신과 더불어 IT, NT, BT, ET 등 첨단 기술과의 융합에 의한 고성능 극한 슈퍼섬유, 나노 복합섬유 등의 신소재를 개발하여 산업 전반에서 플라스틱의 금속소재 대체수요를 증가시키고 산업자재의 고성능화, 고기능화, 다양화를 이루기 위해 다양한 노력이 진행하고 있다. 현재 수송용 섬유소재 산업은 기술의 연결고리가 부족하며, 선도기업 및 원천기술이 부족하며, 자동차용 섬유부품소재 관련 기업의 역량도 부족한 실정이다. 이에 광역경제권 연계협력사업을 통해 생산기반의 대경권(대구경북)과 수요중심의 동남권(부산경남)의 네트워크를 강화하여 완성품 업체 및 수요기업과의 네트워킹을 강화하고자 한다. 따라서 본 연구에서 수송용 섬유소재개발, 수송용 친환경 oam-skin 일체형 표피재 개발, 고속성형 복합소재 및 수송용 경량부품 개발, 초경량 고내열 고강도 섬유활용 하이브리드 wire & cable 개발 등 수송용 섬유소재를 개발하고, 또한 수송용 섬유소재의 생산-수요 연계를 통한 투자활성화, 기술개발, 소재 산업 육성을 강화하여, 산학연네트워크구축, 지역 간 협력 및 국제적 협력, 생산-수요기반의 연계협력시스템을 활용한 자립형 수송용 소재 공급기지 완비하는 데 목적이 있다.

  • To increase the stevedore efficiency and service level at container terminal, it is essential to reduce working time of container crane which has a bottle neck in the logistic flow of container. The working speed and safety are required to be improved by controlling the movement of the trolley as quick as possible without big overshoot and any residual swing motion of container in the vicinity of target position. Simulating Logistics Changes in South Korea Caused by Trans-Eurasia Logistics Passing through North Korea (북한 통관 유라시아 횡단 물류에 따른 국내 물류 변화 시뮬레이션 분석)

  • Ever since Korea was geopolitically divided into North and South Korea in the 1940s, South Korea has depended on maritime transportation for global trade and logistics. Now, however, South Korea is preparing to develop a new global route for trans-Eurasia logistics passing through North Korea. Even though there are difficulties to overcome, South Korea expects that a new overland route, shorter than the existing seaways in the Europe-Asia section, will bring more frequent trade with more rapid and cost-effective logistics services in the future. Related to this issue, this study aims to proactively analyze dynamic logistics changes in South Korea when a trans-Korea railway is developed and linked with the trans-China railway and the trans-Siberian railway. This study employed a system dynamics simulation approach to model the logistics system in South Korea. The simulation results indicated that the traffic of the Uiwang inland container depot near the capital area may increase but the traffic of the Port of Busan may decrease. With supplementary research, consequently, follow-up studies on adjusting the traffic capacity in Korea are required to attain successful trans-Eurasia logistics by rail.

Power System Optimization for Electric Hybrid Unmanned Drone (전동 하이브리드 무인 드론의 동력 계통 최적화)

  • For drones to be used for industrial or agricultural applications, it is necessary to increase the payload and endurance. Currently, the payload and endurance are limited by the battery technology for electric powered drones. In addition, charging or replacing the batteries may not be a practical solution at the field that requires near continuous operation. In this paper, a procedure to optimize the power system of an electric hybrid drone that consists of an internal combustion engine, a generator, a battery, and electric motors is presented. The example drone for crop dusting is sized for easy transportation with a maximum takeoff weight of 200 kg. The two main rotors that are mechanically connected to the internal combustion engine provides most of the lift. The drone is controled by four electric motors that are driven by the generator. By analyzing the flow of the energy, a methodology to select the optimum propeller and motor among the commercially available models is described. Then, a procedure of finding the optimum operational condition along with the proper gear reduction ratios for the internal combustion engine based on the test data is presented.
