A Study on the Verification of Computational Thinking Effectiveness of Understanding-Oriented SW Basic Education Program (이해중심 SW기초교육 프로그램의 컴퓨팅사고 효과성 검증 연구)

  • In order to cultivate talented people who have problem solving ability due to computational thinking according to the trend of the fourth industrial revolution, each university is actively promoting software education. This study suggests that understanding-oriented SW curriculum is needed for non-majors students to improve computational thinking. In order to achieve the purpose of the study, this study designed the basic education program based on the understanding of the SW with the backward design model. The SW Basic Education Program was applied to 15 weeks of instruction and conducted three surveys. The positive effects of the understanding-oriented SW basic education on the computational thinking efficacy and the computer perception were verified. In addition, it was found that the understanding-oriented computational thinking and programming education are effective when they are linked to one process. It is expected that understanding-based SW based education, which uses the backward design model, can be applied as one of the efficient ways to improve computational thinking in the education field.

Analysis of the Factors and Patterns Associated with Death in Aircraft Accidents and Incidents Using Data Mining Techniques (데이터 마이닝 기법을 활용한 항공기 사고 및 준사고로 인한 사망 발생 요인 및 패턴 분석)

  • This study analyzes the influential factors and patterns associated with death from aircraft accidents and incidents using data mining techniques. To this end, we used two datasets for aircraft accidents and incidents, one from the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the other from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). We developed our prediction models using the decision tree classifier to predict death from aircraft accidents or aircraft incidents and thereby derive the main cause factors and patterns that can cause death based on these prediction models. In the NTSB data, deaths occurred frequently when the aircraft was destroyed or people were performing dangerous missions or maneuver. In the FAA data, deaths were mainly caused by pilots who were less skilled or less qualified when their aircraft were partially destroyed. Several death-related patterns were also found for parachute jumping and aircraft ascending and descending phases. Using the derived patterns, we proposed helpful strategies to prevent death from the aircraft accidents or incidents.

International Comparative Analysis of Traffic Safety Indicators related to Road Traffic Accidents (도로교통사고 안전지표의 국제간 비교분석 평가)

  • This study was to evaluate the level of traffic safety related to domestic traffic accidents by analyzing the international comparison of road traffic accident indicators and to set goals and directions of traffic accidents in Korea in the future. The research procedure was as follows: First, population, number of registered vehicles, roadway length, vehicle kilometers, injury accidents, fatalities, injuries were collected in 32 OECD countries. Second, we determined Korea's traffic safety rankings through international comparison of traffic accident rate. Finally, we analyzed the level of traffic safety by comparing Korea with the 7 advanced countries with the traffic accident rate per vehicle kilometers. The accident rate in Korea was greater than two times higher than those of the seven major developed countries, which showed that the level of traffic safety in Korea implied very low. Target values for domestic accidents were proposed based on the accident rate.

Spatial clustering of pedestrian traffic accidents in Daegu (대구광역시 교통약자 보행자 교통사고 공간 군집 분석)

  • Korea, which has the highest pedestrian fatality rate among OECD countries, is making efforts to improve the safe walking environment by enacting laws focusing on pedestrian. Spatial clustering was conducted with scan statistics after examining the social network data related to traffic accidents for children and seniors. The word cloud was used to examine people's recognition Campaigns for children and literature survey for seniors were in main concern. Naedang and Yongsan are the regions with the highest relative risk of weak pedestrian for children and seniors. On the contrary, Bongmu and Beomeo are the lowest relative risk region. Naedang-dong and Yongsan-dong of Daegu Metropolitan City were identified as vulnerable areas for pedestrian safety due to the high risk of pedestrian accidents for children and the elderly. This means that the scan statistics are effective in searching for traffic accident risk areas.

Real-time Fall Accident Prediction using Random Forest in IoT Environment (사물인터넷 환경에서 랜덤포레스트를 이용한 실시간 낙상 사고 예측)

  • As of 2023, the number of accident victims in the domestic construction industry is 26,829, ranking second only to other businesses (service industries). The accident types of casualties in all industries were falls (29,229 people), followed by falls (14,357 people). Based on the above data, this study attaches sensors to hard hats and insoles to predict fall accidents that frequently occur at construction sites, and proposes smart safety equipment that applies a random forest algorithm based on the data collected through this. The random forest model can determine fall accidents in real time with high accuracy by generating multiple decision trees and combining the predictions of each tree. This model classifies whether a worker has had a fall accident and the type of behavior through data collected from the MPU-6050 sensor attached to the hard hat. Fall accidents that are primarily determined from hard hats are secondarily predicted through sensors attached to the insole, thereby increasing prediction accuracy. It is expected that this will enable rapid response in the event of an accident, thereby reducing worker deaths and accidents.

  • As a city and industries are developed rapidly, a traffic accident and congestion take places on the road link become serious and it can be a large problem of the society in the future. Especially, most of the traffic accidents on the signalized intersection are caused by the human factor, vehicle and environmental factor mutually. The relation of the traffic accident and volume is acting on the outbreak of the traffic accident and the mistake of driver altogether as a major cause. The purpose of this paper is to develop a model for the forecasting of the traffic accident and to use research data gained to predict many traffic accidents. The data of this study were used with real one of the 73 areas of the four-legged signalized intersection in Kwang-ju city from 1996 to 1998 for three years to develop a model for the forecasting of the traffic accident. The statistical methods used in this paper are the principal component, regression and correlation analysis. We studied accident models to find out useful data from the statistics method and applied the data to the different area of the Choun-La province for the verification of the model. So, the result of this paper showed a reasonable model for the forecasting or the traffic accident and possibility of the model for simulating on real case. Finally, This study would be made of a study continually for the safe design and plan for the four-legged signalized intersection.

A Study on the Algebraic Thinking of Mathematically Gifted Elementary Students (초등 수학영재의 대수적 사고 특성에 관한 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to describe characteristics of thinking in elementary gifted students' solutions to algebraic tasks. Especially, this paper was focused on the students' strategies to develop generalization while problem solving, the justifications on the generalization and metacognitive thinking emerged in stildents' problem solving process. To find these issues, a case study was conducted. The subjects of this study were four 6th graders in elementary school-they were all receiving education for the gifted in an academy for the gifted attached to a university. Major findings of this study are as follows: First, during the process of the task solving, the students varied in their use of generalization strategies and utilized more than one generalization strategy, and the students also moved from one strategy toward other strategies, trying to reach generalization. In addition, there are some differences of appling the same type of strategy between students. In a case of reaching a generalization, students were asked to justify their generalization. Students' justification types were different in level. However, there were some potential abilities that lead to higher level although students' justification level was in empirical step. Second, the students utilized their various knowledges to solve the challengeable and difficult tasks. Some knowledges helped students, on the contrary some knowledges made students struggled. Specially, metacognitive knowledges of task were noticeably. Metacognitive skills; 'monitoring', 'evaluating', 'control' were emerged at any time. These metacognitive skills played a key role in their task solving process, led to students justify their generalization, made students keep their task solving process by changing and adjusting their strategies.

  • KERISIM(KERI Simulator)은 한국전기연구소가 개발한 회전기형 시뮬레이터로서 AC/DC 비동기 연계계통을 포함한 복합계통의 다양한 동태현상에 대한 분석이 가능하다. 본 논문에서는 한국전기연구소의 전력계통 분석용 시뮬레이터에 대한 EMTDC 해석모델을 개발하고 이를 활용하여 상정사고 해석을 수행함으로써 제어기 설계를 위한 성능시험을 할 수 있는 기본 바탕을 마련하였다. 즉, KERISIM을 구성하고 있는 개별 기기들의 설계사양을 기술하였으며, EMTDC 해석모델의 구성요소들을 살펴보았다. 이와 같이 개발된 EMTDC 모델를 활용하여 Rectifier 및 Inverter측 교류모선에서 3상고장 상정사고 해석을 수행하였으며, 그 해석결과를 분석하였다.

파괴의 원인과 방지대책 - 선박, 해양구조물 파괴를 중심으로 -

  • 선박, 해양구조물을 중심으로 파괴손상례, 파괴해석방법, 파괴의 방지대책에 대해 기술하였다. 실제 구조물의 파괴는 매우 복합적인 요인에 의해 발생되기 때문에 그 요인 분석이 쉽지 않으나 최근 들어 파괴역학, microfractography의 발달로 비교적 상세하게 파괴요인이 밝혀지게 되었다. 일단 파괴가 발생하면 그 사고를 case study하여 대책을 강구함으로서 같은 류의 사고 발생률을 감소시킬 수 있다. 그러나 새로운 성능을 갖춘 구조물, 특수한 환경에 사용되는 구조물 등과 같 이 이제까지 경험하지 못한 구조물의 경우에는 사고 발생률이 높아 질 수밖에 없다. 이러한 구조물의 파괴를 방지하기 위해서는 보다 정확한 응력 또는 변형률 해석, 각종 현상을 재현한 시뮬레이션 시험법의 개발, 비파괴 검사기술의 개발과 더불어 재료개발에 병행되어야 할 것이다. 아울러 구조물의 잔존수명 예측 기술이 더욱 개발되어야 할 것이다.

  • 본 논문에서는 사회재난 안전사고 중 수상 안전사고를 예방 및 사고 발생시 즉각 대응을 위한 센서 융복합 상황인지 기술을 개발하였다. 실제 현장에서의 위험상황을 전문가 컨설팅을 통하여 정의하였으며 이를 영상 분석을 이용한 객체의 검출 및 객체의 추적을 통한 위험상황 검출을 개발하였다. 기존 패턴인식 기술에 비하여 우수한 성능을 보이는 인공지능 기반 딥러닝 기술을 적용하였으며 딥러닝 기술을 적용하기 위하여는 많은 수의 데이터베이스 확보가 필수적이고 이를 위하여 기존 데이터베이스의 확보 및 현장에서의 실제 데이터베이스 구축을 위한 작업을 통하여 충분한 데이터베이스를 확보하였다. 객체 검출은 최적의 속도를 확보하기 위하여 SSD 구조를 이용하였으며 객체 추적을 위해서는 Re-identification 기법을 적용하여 Tied convolution 구조를 이용하였다.
