Medical Image Restoration by Digital Image Processing (디지털영상처리를 이용한 의료영상복원)

  • In this paper, restoration methods were applied to restore analog medicine images with an aged image added and then blurred by noises. To restore the aged image blurred by the blurring function and added by noises, it was applied to the restoration methods which are inverse filtering and wiener filtering which are linear restoration techniques and Lucy-Richardson's algorithm which is nonlinear restoration technique. Moreover, ROC curve, a subjective evaluation method, was applied to evaluate the image quality of the restoration image. The wiener filtering using the ratio of constants acquired better image than the inverse filtering, but both of them couldn't improve ability to make a diagnosis. The restoration image applied to Lucy-Richardson algorithm was the best performance of the applied techniques and its sensitivity and specitivity were improved by 15[%] as much performance as the original aged image.

Multiscale Regularization Method for Image Restoration (다중척도 정칙화 방법을 이용한 영상복원)

  • In this paper we provide a new image restoration method based on the multiscale regularization in the redundant wavelet transform domain. The proposed method uses the redundant wavelet transform to decompose the single-scale image restoration problem to multiscale ones and applies scale dependent regularization to the decomposed restoration problems. The proposed method recovers sharp edges by applying rather less regularization to wavelet related restorations, while suppressing the resulting noise magnification by the wavelet shrinkage algorithm. The improved performance of the proposed method over more traditional Wiener filtering is shown through numerical experiments.

A Robust Recovery Method of Reference Clock against Random Delay Jitter for Satellite Multimedia System (위성 멀티미디어 시스템을 위한 랜덤 지연지터에 강인한 기준 클럭 복원)

  • This paper presents an accurate recovery method of the reference clock which is needed for network synchronization in two-way satellite multimedia systems compliant with DVB-RCS specification and which use closed loop method for burst synchronization. In these systems, the remote station transmits TDMA burst via return link. For burst synchronization, it obtains reference clock from program clock reference (PCR) defined by MPEG-2 system specification. The PCR is generated periodically at the hub system by sampling system clock which runs at 27MHz $\pm$ 30ppm. Since the reference clock is recovered by means of digital PLL(DPLL) using imprecise PCR values due to variable random jitter, the recovered clock frequency of remote station doesn't exactly match reference clock of hub station. We propose a robust recovery method of reference clock against random delay jitter The simulation results show that the recovery error is remarkably decreased from 5 clocks to 1 clock of 27MHz relative to the general DPLL recovery method.

Variable Block Size for Performance Improvement of Compressed Sensing (압축 센싱의 성능 향상을 위한 가변 블록 크기 기술)

  • The conventional block-based compressed sensing uses a fixed block size for signal reconstruction, and the reconstructed signal is degraded because the block size suitable to the signal characteristics is not used. To solve this problem, in this paper, a variable block size method for compressed sensing is proposed that estimates the signal characteristics and selects a proper block size for each frame, thereby improving the quality of the reconstructed signal. The proposed method reconstructs the signal with different block sizes, analyzes the signal characteristics using correlation coefficients for each frame, and select the block size for the frame. It is confirmed that, with the same acquired data, the proposed method reconstructs the signal of higher quality than the conventional fixed block size method.

  • 최근 저해상도 기상자료를 바탕으로 한 단기간에 내린 폭우나 극심한 가뭄 등과 같은 국지적인 기상 예보는 한계가 있기 때문에 고해상도 기상자료에 대한 수요가 증대되고 있으며, 특히 지형이 복잡한 한반도의 경우 지형적인 영향을 고려한 고해상도 기상자료가 요구되고 있다. 하지만 현재 기상청에서 제공하는 남한 지역의 지상 관측 자료는 약 10km의 불규칙한 간격으로 분포하고 있으며 이는 복잡한 남한지역의 지형 특성을 고려하기에는 해상도가 낮아 상세한 기상 현상을 예측하기 힘들다. 또한, 북한의 경우 사용가능한 관측 자료가 부족하여 한반도 전체를 대상으로 한 기상 예보 및 기후 특성 분석에는 한계가 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 정량적 강수 예측 모형인 QPM(Quantitative Precipitation Model)을 이용하여 3시간 간격의 현재기후(2000-2014년)에 대한 한반도 지역의 1km 강우 자료를 복원하였다. 관측 자료가 부족한 북한의 경우 재분석 자료를 이용하여 1km 해상도의 강우 자료를 복원하였다. 이를 위해 몇 가지 특정한 강우 Case를 선별하였고, QPM 수행 시 필요한 강수, 상대습도, 지위고도, 연직 기온, 연직 바람장 등의 변수에 대하여 남한 지역에 해당하는 지점의 여러 재분석 자료와 실제 남한 지역의 지상/고층 관측 자료와의 비교 및 Correlation 분석을 통해 가장 적절하다고 판단되는 재분석 자료인 NASA에서 제공하는 MERRA Reanalysis data를 선정하였다. 또한, 소규모 지형효과를 고려하기 위한 상세 지형자료로 고해상도 지형 자료인 DEM(*Digital Elevation Model) 1km 자료를 사용하였다. 한반도의 강우를 복원하기 위하여 Barnes 기법을 이용하여 불규칙적으로 분포해 있는 강수량 데이터를 규칙적인 자료로 격자화 하였고, 격자화 한 10km 해상도의 자료를 QPM을 통해 복잡한 지형 특성을 고려한 1km 해상도의 강우 자료로 복원하였다. 또한, QPM의 모의 성능을 검증하기 위하여, 위에서 선별한 특정 강우 Case에 대하여 복원한 1km 강우자료와 200m 이내의 거리에서 겹치는 지상관측자료와의 비교를 통하여 모의 성능을 검증하였다. 본 연구를 통해 복원된 한반도 상세 강우 자료를 통해 통일을 대비한 기상, 농 수산업, 수자원 등 다양한 분야에서 활용 될 수 있으며, 국지적인 폭우 및 가뭄 등의 이상 기상 현상을 분석하는 데 참고 기초 자료로써 활용 될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

Sparse Signal Recovery with Parallel Orthogonal Matching Pursuit for Multiple Measurement Vectors (병렬OMP 기법을 통한 복수 측정 벡터기반 성긴 신호의 복원)

  • In this paper, parallel orthogonal matching pursuit (POMP) is proposed to supplement the simultaneous orthogonal matching pursuit (S-OMP) which has been widely used as a greedy algorithm for sparse signal recovery for multiple measurement vector (MMV) problem. The process of POMP is simple but effective: (1) multiple indexes maximally correlated with the observation vector are chosen at the first iteration, (2) the conventional S-OMP process is carried out in parallel for each selected index, (3) the index set which yields the minimum residual is selected for reconstructing the original sparse signal. Empirical simulations show that POMP for MMV outperforms than the conventional S-OMP both in terms of exact recovery ratio (ERR) and mean-squared error (MSE).

  • A Satellite transponder is mounted on the Satellite and performs radio communications with the ground station. A Digital transponder compared to The analog transponder is made easy and accurate performance prediction. Also Modulation Scheme, Data Rate, Loop Bandwidth, Modulation Index and etc. can be changed on orbit, by implementing FPGA can reduce the weight and volume. The core technology of digital transponder is Carrier Recovery loop. Dynamic Range, Frequency Tracking Range, Frequency Tracking Rate and Coherent performance are determined by the performance of the Carrier Recovery loop. In this paper, we proposed the structure of Carrier Recovery loop for the Satellite digital transponder, then tested and verified the structure.

  • Airplane Buhwal is the first light airplane which is designed and made in South Korea. Restoration of airplane Buhwal is designed based on the one made by Korean Airforce in 2004 but there are some changes also. It uses aluminum main wing, electronic indicator, BRS(Ballistic recovery parachute) and black box for improved performance. In this paper, for the restorated Buhwal, major design changes are introduced, structure, aerodynamic and stability analysis are reviewed and improved performances which is proven through flight test are shown. This study will be a big help for domestic light airplane development.

A Study of the Automatic Operation Performance of a Pump Station using Resilience Considering Residual Flows (잔류유량 기반 복원력 지수를 통한 빗물펌프장 자동운영 성능 검토)

  • Non-structural improvements to urban drainage systems are necessary to overcome the elevated levels of urban flood damage. This study proposed a type of automatic pump/gate operation technology for urban pump stations that takes reservoir inflows and river water levels into account and its performance is compared with the current operation using the concept of residual flow-based resilience. The proposed automatic operation relies on three pump operations and two gate operations. The water depth at the monitoring node was used for the pump operation, and the monitoring node was selected in consideration of the first overflow node and the maximum overflow node. The target area is the Daegu Bisan urban pump station, and the rainfall data consisted of probability rainfall sets with durations of 30 minutes, 60 minutes, 90 minutes and 120 minutes, and frequencies of 30, 50, and 70 years. As a result of the application of the proposed operation, differences in the resilience between the automatic operation and the current operation were at least 5.20E-05 with a maximum of 8.07E-04. The longer the duration is, the greater the difference in the resilience.

  • Sparse한 신호 복원 방법으로 underdetermined system에서 greed 알고리듬은 간결함과 낮은 복잡도로 인해 활발히 연구되고 있다. 이에 본 논문은 기존 greed 알고리듬 기법에서 iteration 마다 다중 경로를 이용하여 스파스 신호를 복원하는 개선된 알고리듬을 제안한다. 모의 실험을 통해 제안된 알고리듬이 기존의 greedy 알고리듬보다 좋은 복원 성능을 가짐을 확인할 수 있다.
