Comparison of Reliability of PSSC Girder Bridge for Different Limit States (PSSC 거더 교량의 한계상태별 신뢰도 비교)

  • Reliability analysis of prestressed steel and concrete(PSSC) girders is conducted for deflection, stress and moment strength limit state. PSSC girder has strong advantages in terms of construction cost and vertical clearance for the span length of over 40 meters. In this paper, example PSSC girders with different span lengths, section dimensions and design stress levels are designed and analyzed to calculate the midspan deflection, stress and the section moment strength. Deflection limit state, stress limit state and strength limit state functions are assumed and the reliability indexes are obtained by Monte-Carlo simulation and Rackwitz-Fiessler procedure. The results show that the reliability of PSSC girder for deflection limit state is appropriately higher than the stress limit state and the reliability for moment strength is significantly conservative.

Flexural Behaviors of RC Beams Strengthened by Light Concrete Precast Composite Panel with an Advanced Fiber Sheet (고성능 섬유쉬트를 부착시킨 경량 프리캐스트 복합패널로 보강된 RC보의 휨거동)

  • This paper summarizes the results of experimental studies concerning the flexural strengthening of reinforced concrete beams by the external bonding of the new reinforcement material, which is composite panel with an advanced fiber sheet bonded on light concrete precast panel. The structural behaviors of strengthened beams are compared with codes in terms of yield load and ultimate load, deflection, flexural stiffness, ductility. Thirty nine large-scale beams were tested experimentally to evaluate the strength enhancement provided by the composite panel. According to the results, it is shown that beams strengthened with composite panel are structurally efficient and that the strength of the strengthened beams are improved comparing with beams strengthened with fiber sheet.

A Study on the Fatigue Strength of the Reinforced Concrete Beams Repaired with Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer(GFRP) Bar and Glass Fiber Steel Plate(GSP) (GFRP Bar 및 GSP로 보수된 철근 콘크리트 보의 피로강도 연구)

  • After developing the pre-crack to simulate a damaged reinforced concrete beam, fatigue test was conducted on the beam repaired by GFRP Bar and GSP embedded method. In the result of fatigue test, most residual displacement and crack of the experimental beams occurs in the early loading cycle and an increasing rate of these due to number of cycles were insignificant. Comparing with a non-repaired beam, a static strength of the repaired beam greatly increased, but fatigue strength decreased. In S-N curves, fatigue strength of the beam repaired by GFRP Bar and GSP was 58%, 52% of the static strength respectively.

  • Steel effects on creep deformation of prestressed concrete structues are investigated by a parametric study. Prestressed steel ratio, Prestressed steel distribution, initial flexural stress gradient, and modular ratio are selected as parameters. Sectional analysis for the beam section of parameter combination is performed to find curvatrue change due to creep. Based on the investigation, long-term curvature formulas from regression analysis are proposed. Application of the furmulas to simply supported prostressed concrete beam shows the effect of steel on deflection.

압전MEMS의 가상신속시작을 위한 유한요소해석이용 수치해의 개발

  • 이 논문에서는 압전 MEMS에 대한 유한요소해석(FEA)응용이 연구되었다. 압전MEMS와 관련한 특수재료 및 기하학적 형상에 대한 몇 가지 두드러진 특징 및 앞으로의 연구가치가 있는 주제도 아울러 다룬다. 압전 능동박막을 이용한 센서 및 액츄에이터를 포함하는 단순구조에 대한 FEA모델링이 제시되었다. ZnO가 압전 재료로 사용되었다. 정적 전기기계적해석이 두 가지 모델에 대해 수행되었다. 압전효과로 발생한 처짐 및 센 서의 출력전압에 대한 FEA 결과는 해석치 혹은 실험측정값과도 우수하게 일치하였다. ANSYS가 P-MEMS의 가상신속시작체계를 위한 우수한 FEA도구임이 본 논문을 통해서 보여졌다.

  • 본 논문에서는 흔히 볼 수 있는 전봇대가 속이 꽉 차있다는 점에서 문제제기를 시작하였다. 전봇대를 설계 할 때에 속을 꽉 채우는 것이 과연 효율적이고 경제적인 설계인지 알아보고, 그것이 아니라면 어떤 단면으로 설계를 해야 하는지에 대해 문제접근을 하게 되었고, 결과적으로 속이 빈 파이프형 부재가 실제로 저항하는 하중은 작지만 경제적으로 보았을 때 현재의 전봇대보다 효율적이라는 결론을 낼 수 있었다. 추가적으로 본 논문에서는 수직력과 Bending moment외에 다른 힘을 생각하지 않았으므로 그런 것에 대한 충분한 연구가 있은 후에 이러한 설계가 적용되면 좋을 것이라고 본다.

  • Existing tests results have shown that confining the concrete compression region with closed stirrups improves the ductility and load-carrying capacity of beams. However, only few researchers have attempted to utilize the beneficial effects of the presence of these stirrups in design. This paper presents the result of experimental studies on the load-deflection behavior and the strengthening effect of laterally confined structural high-strength concrete beam members in which confinement stirrups have been introduced into the compression regions. Fifteen tests were conducted on full-scale beam specimens having concrete compressive strength of 41 MPa and 61 MPa. Different spacing of stirrups(0.25∼1.0d) and amount of tension steel($0.55{\sim}0.7{\rho}_b$) as major variables were investigated. And also, this study present an appropriate shear equation for decision of ultimate failure modes of high-strength concrete beams according to stirrup spacing. The equation is based on interaction between shear strength and displacement ductility. Prediction of failure mode from presented method and comparison with test results are also presenteded

  • Based on the relation between cracks and deflection in a RC beam, this study proposed a method to estimate the deflection of RC beams directly from the condition of cracks not using the actual loads acting on the member. The deflections of members were successfully estimated by the proposed method, which was also easy to apply compared to the existing methods.

  • A numerical method is presented to obtain natural frequencies and mode shapes of tapered beams with static deflections due to self-weight. The differential equation governing the free vibrations of beam taken into account the static deflection due to self-weight is derived and solved numerically. The hinged-hinged, clamped-clamped and clamped-hinged and clamped-free end constraints are applied in the numerical examples. As the numerical results, the lowest three natural frequencies versus distributed slenderness ratio and section ratio are reported in figures. And for the comparison purpose, the typical mode shapes with the effects of static deflection are presented in figures.
