Analysis of the Experiences of Teachers during a Nutrition Education Program (지역사회 및 학교조직의'협력'에 기초한 아동 영양교육 프로그램 수행과정에 나타난 참여 교사의 경험분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the experiences of teachers during the development and performance of a nutrition education program based on collaboration between the school organization and local community, as the experiences of teachers who participate in a nutrition education program might be one of major factors to determine the success or failure of their performance. It's basic goal is give some suggestions on school nutrition education and to explore how to assist teachers to ensure their successful performance of a nutrition education program. As a result of analyzing the collected data, the experiences that the teachers had in the program planning stage were subcategorized into two groups: 'finding hope amid complaints' and 'building a learning community'. The experiences that the teachers had in the acting stage were subcategorized ino two groups as well: 'regulating, equalizing and forming a new schema' and 'building stepping stones'. The experiences that they had in the evaluation stage were also subcategorized into two groups: 'finding it rewarding and thankful to teach' and 'new challenge'. The findings of the study are expected to provide essential information on how to assist teachers to offer effective and successful nutrition education.

Survey on Children Toothbrushing Teaching Guidance with Child Care Center Teachers (일부 보육교사의 유아 칫솔질 지도에 관한 실태조사)

  • This study aimed to investigate the current situation of toothbrushing guidance with child care teachers in day care facilities caring and managing infants and young children and to grasp problems neglected in using toothpaste and guiding toothbrushing to provide basic data for measures to cope with them. This study included 165 child care teachers or teachers of the kindergartens who agreed with its purpose. By excluding 10 questionnaires with omitted or conflicting answers, 156 ones were finally analyzed in this study. The correlation between education about oral health and toothbrushing guidance, the subjects with and without the experience of the education did not show any significant difference in time to encourage toothbrushing, behaviors of toothbrushing guidance, guidance on prevention of toothpaste intake and perception of an appropriate amount of toothpaste (p>0.05) while perception of the importance of oral health was significantly related with the education on oral health (p<0.05). Therefore, education system for specialists in oral health to offer a specific and systemic education and oral health education programs for child care teacher, are considered to be necessary.

  • This research focuses on the university-business incubation from the prospective of triple helix and summarizes complementary researches and develop plans for university-business incubation. To pursue these objectives, we analyzed the studies of triple helix on domestic as well as overseas university-business incubators and their collaboration. The findings of this study showed that firstly In order to innovate the business incubator of the university, it is necessary to secure sufficient competence for the capability. For this purpose, Research and policy implications from various perspectives must be preceded.. Second, the collaborative relationship of business incubations should lead to organic and dynamic cooperative relations instead of static cooperative partnerships. Furthermore, based on the internal innovation that runs the business incubation program together with bottom-up rather than top-down approach, it is necessary to plan incubation and lead the transformation through creative ideas. Third, for the dynamic collaboration of business incubation, the management and practice of the organization should be given priority so that the boundary spanning appropriate to each situation, which turn increase the absorption capacity. As a future direction, studies are expected to explore the development of innovative university-business incubation about boundary spanning and knowledge transformation.

Childcare Policies In Korea (우리나라의 보육정책)

  • As a childcare program of TaeHwa Christian Women's Institution in 1921, the childcare system in Korea was incepted. Since then, the political foothold of childcare system has steadily been advancing to provide high quality services to young children. In almost a hundred-year-history of public childcare in Korea, depending on the changes enforced on the related laws and regulations and varying perspectives over time, the administration office accountable for childcare policies has been authorized to the Ministries of Health, Social Affairs, Education, Labor, Home Affairs, Rural Development Administration, and/or others. But as of 1991, under the enactment of Infant and Child Care Act, it was changed to be administered by the unified authority of the Health and Social Welfare Ministry. Then, in 2004 and 2007, its statutory authority, respectively, transferred to the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family and back to the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare. Staring of the Infant and Child Care Act in 1991, Korean childcare policies have been managed by the dual systems of the Education Ministry and the Health and Social Welfare Ministry each holding jurisdiction over kindergartens and childcare centers, respectively. Faced with the recent marked decline of birth rate, diverse childcare policies are currently implemented in the pursuit of finding means to enhance the quality of childcare and to develop policies for the restoration of the low birth rate. This study presented distinct features of current childcare policies and discussed about future directions and challenges of these policies.

Development of an Ecological Model to Improve Health Care Management for Children in Child Care Centers (보육시설 아동의 건강관리향상을 위한 생태학적 모형 개발)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to identify current health care management and barriers in health care management according to ecological systems, and to develop an ecological model for enhancing health care in child care centers. Methods: Focus group interviews were conducted with directors and teachers of child care centers, and with parents of children enrolled in child care. Data were analyzed by the latent content analysis method. Results: Twelve categories of health care management were identified. Barriers to child health care included knowledge deficit and lack of competence in health care by teachers, lack of useful health care manuals, non-existence of professional child health care personnel in child care centers, lack of mutual information sharing and disagreement on child health conditions between child care personnel and parents, lack of specific health related child care inspection criteria and time flexible child care centers with a lack of policy on collaboration with health care facilities. The ecological model developed included specific strategies to improve health care management in child care. Conclusion: The proposed ecological model to improve child health care management should be useful to plan future health care program considering both the immediate and indirect social environment surrounding children in child care.

The Effect of Startup Support Policy on Entrepreneurship: Focusing on TIPS Support Projects by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups (창업지원정책이 기업가정신에 미치는 영향: 중소벤처기업부 팁스(TIPS) 지원사업을 중심으로)

  • This study studied the effect of the TIPS support project of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups on the entrepreneurship of TIPS start-ups. The Tips start-up company, which is the subject of the study, was selected for the TIPS support project, participated in all commercialization funds, incubation facilities, and capacity building programs, and was selected as a company that received private investment. One-on-one in-depth interviews were conducted for about eight weeks from January 14, 2022 to March 11, 2022. For this study, the TIPS support project was subdivided into four categories: commercialization funds, incubation facilities, capacity building programs, and private investment attraction, and entrepreneurship factors were classified into four categories: innovation, challenge spirit, leadership, and risk-taking. As a result of the in-depth interview, the influence of the TIPS support project on entrepreneurship factors was in the order of challenge spirit, innovation, risk-taking, and leadership. Specifically, it was found that commercialization funds influenced innovation and risk-taking, incubation facilities had a challenge spirit and risk-taking, competency-building programs had a challenge spirit and leadership, and attracting private investment had an influence on innovation and challenge spirit. The implications of this study are that the TIPS support project, a private investment-led technology start-up support program, was introduced in 2013 and as of the end of March 2022, and a report was prepared focusing on visible performance such as private investment performance and employment rate. However, through this study, by analyzing whether the TIPS support project contributed to the cultivation of entrepreneurship for TIPS start-ups, it was found that it had a positive influence not only on quantitative growth but also on qualitative growth.

Child Daycare Teachers' Role Perception, Knowledge, Self-confidence and Educational Needs Regarding Infectious Disease Management in Children (아동 감염성 질환관리에 대한 보육교사의 역할인식, 지식, 실천 자신감 및 교육요구도)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate role perception, knowledge, self-confidence of practice, and educational needs of child daycare teachers' infectious disease management and to identify their relationship. A correlation study was conducted. Participants were 180 child daycare teachers. Almost eighty percent(78.9%) of participants did not received infectious disease management education. The mean percent of correct answers for infectious disease management knowledge of participants was 52.3% and their self-confidence of practice of infectious disease management was low. However, their role perception of infectious disease management and educational needs were high. Educational needs on 'hand washing and hygiene to prevent infectious diseases', 'blocking transmission of infectious diseases', 'infectious disease specific management and care', and 'infectious disease specific symptoms' were high. Child daycare teachers' role perception of infectious disease was positively correlated with their knowledge and educational needs. Development and evaluation of educational interventions to improve child daycare teachers' infectious disease prevention and management are recommended. Particularly, efforts are needed to improve child daycare teachers role perceptions as infectious disease manager.

The Effect of Job Stress on Psychological Burnout of Childcare Teachers: Focusing on the Mediating Effect of Self-Esteem (보육교사의 직무스트레스가 심리적 소진에 미치는 영향 : 자아존중감의 매개효과를 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of job stress on psychological burnout of childcare teachers and the mediating effect of self-esteem between two variables. For the study, the data collected from 520 teachers working in day-care centers in Seoul, Gyeonggi and Incheon areas were analyzed by utilizing the path analysis model. The results are as follows. First, job stress of childcare teachers had a positive effect on their psychological burnout, but it had a negative effect on their self-esteem. Second, self-esteem of childcare teachers influenced negatively their psychological burnout. Third, job stress of childcare teachers directly affected psychological burnout and its effect was indirectly mediated by their self-esteem. On the basis of the findings, the need to reduce job stress and psychological burnout and to enhance self-esteem was suggested.

The Effect of a Group Program Using Theraplay on Prosocial Behavior of 2-year-old Infants and Process of Infants' Prosocial Behavior Change (치료놀이를 활용한 집단프로그램이 만 2세 영아의 친사회적 행동에 미치는 영향과 영아의 친사회적 행동 변화 과정)

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of a group program using theraplay on 2-year-olds' prosocial behavior. The changes of prosocial behavior in the process of program were also examined. Methods: Subjects were 12 infants who attended a child care center in W city. Subjects were attached to the experimental or control group. The experimental group participated in 11 group theraplay sessions twice a week. The adaptive social behavior inventory (Hogan et al., 1992) was used for pre and post tests. Wilcoxon rank-sum test was performed to verify the effectiveness of a group theraplay program. Every sessions was video-taped and recorded verbatim. The verbatim were analyzed using the Padgett (2001)'s qualitative data analysis method. Results: Infants who assigned to the experimental group demonstrated significant improvement in prosocial behavior. Their expressive behavior and compliant behavior gradually increased over the sessions. Conclusion/Implications: The present study showed that the use of group program utilizing theraplay was an effective strategy for improving prosocial behavior of 2-year-old infants.

The Hidden Lynchpin of Startup Accelerators : Accelerator Entrepreneur Passion (스타트업 액셀러레이터의 감춰진 린치핀 : 액셀러레이터 창업가 열정)

  • There is growing empirical evidence that passion is an important part of entrepreneurship and influences the intentions, behaviors and performance of entrepreneurs, employees and startups. Passion is especially important in an entrepreneurial context, given the effort and challenge that entrepreneurs starting a startup must overcome. The purpose of this study was to confirm the effect of the passion of startup entrepreneurs participating in the accelerator incubation program and the passion of accelerator entrepreneurs and managers on the entrepreneurial performance of incubator startups. In addition, we tried to confirm whether entrepreneurial self-efficacy plays a mediating role in this influence relationship. The survey was conducted online by startups entrepreneur who completed the accelerator incubation program. A total of 330 questionnaires were used for the analysis. As a result of the empirical analysis, it was confirmed that the passion of startup entrepreneurs and the passion of accelerator entrepreneurs and managers all had a positive (+) effect on the entrepreneurial performance of incubator startups. The influence of passion was found to be high in the order of startup entrepreneurs, accelerator entrepreneurs, and accelerator managers. It was confirmed that entrepreneurial self-efficacy plays a mediating role between the passion of startup entrepreneurs, the passion of accelerator entrepreneurs, and the entrepreneurial performance of incubator startups, respectively. However, no significant mediating role was identified between the passion of accelerator managers and the entrepreneurial performance of incubator startups. This study is significant in empirically confirming for the first time that the passion of accelerator entrepreneurs and managers has a positive effect on the entrepreneurial performance of incubator startups. The passion of accelerator entrepreneurs and managers is playing an important role as a hidden lynchpin in creating the entrepreneurial performance of incubator startups. In particular, since the passion of accelerator entrepreneurs has a great influence on the performance of incubator startups, it is necessary to recognize this fact and carefully examine their passion reputation when startups select accelerators.
