The importance of the child-care teacher's job has recently been greatly emphasized due to changes in the transitional social environment, but the performance conditions are poor, requiring management of various job factors. For the purpose of providing information for practical application and institutional support related to child-care teachers, this study selected Flourish, Care that Respects the Rights of Child, and Job Crafting to verify the functional impact relationship and effectiveness. Since there are no domestic studies on child-care teachers using these variables, hierarchical regression analysis was performed on 223 child-care teachers to obtain initial information. As a result of the analysis, only the average difference between groups was found in terms of Flourish according to age and Negative Job Demand Reduction according to working hours. And it was found that the Enhancement of Social Job Resources had a moderating effect. Therefore, it is necessary to prepare a new job management strategy based on the information provided by this study and to develop a highly effective reinforcement program for each factor.

Objective: The purpose of this study is to investigate how the child care teachers experience about professional vision development through participating in video clubs with their peers while watching videos about their interactions with children in the classroom. Methods: We selected three child care teachers in a day care center in Seoul area and conducted the qualitative case study. Video clubs were designed to support the quality of teacher-child interaction by developing child-care teachers' professional vision. And the video clubs used the self-reflection process and cooperative self-reflection process as an important educational method. Results: Teachers were able to experience the change of attention in watching their interaction scene through the 4-time video club participation and to have opportunity for educational (knowledge based) reasoning. Particularly, through participation in the video club, the teacher could pay attention to teachers' intention, teachers' decision making process, and child's intention. In addition, through video club participation, the teachers experienced educational interpretation based on children's thinking and interest; and reasoning through reflective thinking about the results of teaching behavior. This change of professional vision was possible through mutual scaffolding through cooperative reflection among participating teachers. Conclusion/Implications: Based on the results of this study we discussed the importance of the professional vision development of the child care teachers and the effectiveness of the video club for supporting their professional vision development.

The purpose of this study was to investigate how to develop of pre-service childcare teachers' perception about the image of childcare center teachers and self-image. In this study, participants' self-analysis method and in-depth interview were adopted to analyze the aspects of pre-service teachers' teacher image. Also, the narrative of pre-service teachers' a famous painting analysis were reported. The results of this study were divided into nine categories. Findings indicated that participants' self-image analysis work made pre-service teachers more enabled them to expend the significance of teacher's image of role in relation to their career decision and future their teacher's job. Moreover, through the experience of self-analysis work the pre-service teachers recognize their own ability to build up unique and healthy image. To foster the ability of pre-service teachers' self- image, special class teaching methods for pre-service teachers should be developed focusing on evoking them to have more positive self-image. This study suggested that self-image analysis work experiences should be emphasized in university class for pre-service teachers.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of variables of interest on mothers' choices of infant care. The variables of interest in this study were categorized into the following three areas: 1) demographic characteristics of mothers and infants, 2) structural and procedual dimensions of infant care facilities, and 3) maternal beliefs on child-rearing. The subjects of this study were mothers whose infants were currently cared by at infant care facilities(n=185) and those who were on the waiting list to use non-maternal infant care(n=53). The main results of this study were as follows. First, mothers of this study preferred to select a type of center-based subsidized infant care over other types of care(family day care) due to quality of the program. Second, the mothers who were not using infant care and cared for their infants at homes reported that there were limitations in their choices of types of infant care due to accessibility and availability of public subsidized infant care facilities, and their child rearing goals were more likely to emphasize learning achievement and maturity than character education or personality. The mothers were more likely to choose a family home care over center-based public subsidized care when they were employed, had younger infants, had longer period of time on waiting lists, and emphasized structural dimensions of infant care than center-based care users. Implications for research and practices were discussed along with the main results of this study.

The purpose of this study is to explore four-year old children's peer culture. During free choice play time, various activities and interaction patterns were observed and analyzed to understand the characteristics of peer culture. The results of this study showed two main peer culture patterns. First of all, peaceful peer culture in which children maintained close relationships based on mutual respect were found. Also conflictive peer culture in which children had negative relationships with other children, such as vertical, discriminative and neglected relationships were observed.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to explore the structural analysis of the relationships among principals and fellow teacher's emotional support, teacher's active motivation for choosing the teaching profession, self-leadership, and child care efficacy and commitment. Methods: Data were collected from 465 child care teachers and analyzed by means of structural equational modeling(SEM). Results: First, principals and fellow teacher' emotional support was found to have a direct effect on teacher's child care commitment, as well as an indirect effect through teacher's self-leadership. Second, teacher's active motivation for choosing the teaching profession was found to have a direct effect on teacher's child care commitment, as well as an indirect effect through self-leadership and child care efficacy. Third, teacher's self-leadership was found to have a direct effect on teacher's child care commitment, as well as an indirect effect through child care efficacy. Fourth, teacher's child care efficacy was to found have a direct effect on teacher's child care commitment. Conclusion: These results suggest the need for a great deal of utility to improve teacher's child care commitment.

The main subjects of this study is to study the qualification and in-service education policies of the child care center staff and to suggest a desirable direction of policy. The main subjects of this study are child care staff policies and related laws. The results of this study shows that the philosophy, developmental psychology and some social backgrounds are the stantards required when designating the child care curriculum and essential subjects for attaining class 2 childcare teacher certificates. This study arises the needs of adjustment of the fields of the childcare curriculum contents, change between mandatory and elective subjects, and renewal of the subject title. The standards for competency in provision of childcare services of National Competency Standard(NCS) has to be considered in the adjustment process. The integrated teacher's certificate for teachers training system is needed in the reserve integration process. The systematization of the data and operating system is needed to manage the target of education efficiently, in order to develop childcare center staff's strengthening ability and professionalism. For in-service education, the diversification of the main body of operation, a periodical monitoring of the content, administrative and financial support are needed. Voluntary participation of in-service education, and the childcare center staffs professional development policy making supported by the government and parents is needed.

The issue of child care in family policy is one of the most important agendas. It is the primary task for a welfare state to form such conditions as socializing it to ensure labor rights and parental rights. The aim of this study is to review any controversies in the agenda of free choice in child care. But real 'free choice' comes true when all community members as individuals are able to enjoy their rights as both workers and parents without any restriction and sexual discrimination in the labor market. But in reality 'free choice' has not been realized in our society. This study is based on the analysis of these issues in free choice - the concepts of liberty, equity and equality, the role of the state, financial efficiency and the status of women in the labor market. Based on the analysis of the issues in accordance with the criteria, I suggest some policy recommendations: adequate and sufficient child care services, the introduction of univer sal child benefits and the expansion of public child care facilities.

This study aimed to provide the basic data to effectively teach nursery practices by investigating the dilemmas experienced by nursery school teachers-in-training majoring in children's welfare during nursery practicums and factors for solving such dilemmas. To this end, a qualitative analysis was conducted using journals, daily monitoring reports and interviews with 15 nursery school teachers-in-training in the Department of Social Welfare at S Women's University. The meaning related to the theme of the research was identified by repetitive reading in the process and then, the key words were determined through the categorization process. Next, the key words with similar concepts were re-classified and the sub-theme and the main theme were selected. In accordance with the analysis, it was identified that the dilemmas experienced during nursery practicums were related to tutors, children, classes, excessive work and the self. Furthermore, the subjects reported inner conflict because they had the alternative to select nursery or social welfare. The factors relieving such dilemmas included a change of children, encouragement from colleagues and the acquisition of practical knowledge. On the basis of the analysis results, this study proposed an approach to effectively implement nursery practicums for nursery school teachers-in-training majoring in children's welfare in the discussion chapter.
